WHAT MAKES ASAP
RIGHT FOR ME?
ASAP appeals most to those who are eager
to move forward, who appreciate structure,
and who work best when given a strong, steady
network of support.
Classes are held in small, closely-knit groups
known as “cohorts.” Classmates will remain
with their cohort throughout the program—
encouraging, assisting, and depending on each
other every step of the way. A dedicated ASAP
coordinator helps students identify academic
goals, then maps out a clear path they can follow
to success, while faculty teams of four teachers
per term offer individual attention. Graduates
leave with not just an associate degree, but
with the skills they need to succeed in further
studies—and the workforce.
HOW SUCCESSFUL ARE
ASAP STUDENTS?
Very. 80% of ASAP students from Kokomo’s
cohort earned a degree in one year. Statewide,
61% of ASAP students earned a degree in one
year, while 76% of ASAP students earn a degree
in two years. After one year, 98% of students
persist toward their bachelor’s degree or a
second associate degree. Once you graduate,
you can easily transfer credits to I.U., Purdue,
or many other public and private four-year
institutions to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
HOW DO I GET INTO ASAP?
First, you’ll need to be 21 or under and have
a GPA of at least 2.5 (plus a decent school
attendance record). You’ll also need to find
two adults (such as a counselor, teacher, coach,
minister, or neighbor) to nominate you through
our website—where you can also fill out an
interest form for yourself. Your family or guardian
must pledge to provide room and board for you
for one year. The rest will be determined by a
series of interview questions.
