A
t Rex Byers Heating & Cooling, you
aren’t a customer.
You’re a client.
That’s at the heart of the Byers family
business model. The family believes it’s
their responsibility to give you the best care
possible for your home. To that end, they
work hard to solve your home issues while
putting your mind at ease that you will be
safe and comfortable.
It all started with Rex Byers. He began
his HVAC career in the Kokomo area by
working with a friend. In time, he launched
out on his own as a sub-contractor. But
in the early ‘80s, the work ran out so Rex
and his wife, Sharon, started their own
company.
Through the many ups and downs of the
market, the company continued to grow.
Now, Rex Byers works not only with
Sharon, but also son Chad and daughter
Amber.
The mission, however, remains the
same, and Rex Byers Heating & Cooling
continues to embrace the opportunity to
serve Kokomo and the surrounding area.
They know how important it is that
their clients feel safe and confident in
their decision to welcome the company’s
representatives into their homes. In
honor of that decision, they ensure their
technicians are clean, uniformed, trained,
drug tested and held accountable to a high
level of professionalism.
The company invests time and finances
in regular training and constantly works
to improve their team’s technical skills as
well as increasing their level of customer
service.
The result is highly trained technicians the
company calls “Service Superheroes.”
These superheroes are available for
service in a large area, including Kokomo,
Tipton, Sharpsville, Russiaville, Kempton,
Logansport, Peru, Forest, Greentown,
Noblesville, Burlington, Galveston,
Walton, Elwood, Denver, Miami, Marion,
Fairmount and Frankfort.
Rex Byers’ technicians are quite versatile
as well, offering many services that are
designed to improve the comfort of your
home. From heating/gas furnaces to air
conditioning to boilers to geothermal
systems, there’s little that they can’t
help you with. And that doesn’t include
their other specialties — air-to-air heat
pumps, generators, log sets and fireplaces,
plumbing and electrical.
It’s no wonder more than 1,000 families in
Kokomo and the surrounding area have
put their trust in Rex Byers Heating &
Cooling by becoming Club Members. Club
memberships are the highest priority for
the company. It’s the step where customers
become clients under the company’s care.
It’s all part of family’s sense of responsibility
to provide the best care possible.
Club members are afforded two seasonal
tune-ups of their HVAC equipment,
plumbing inspections, checks for safety
concerns and a 15 percent discount on
all repairs — not only on HVAC, but
plumbing and electrical.
In its 36
th
year, the business continues to
grow. Since the family business relocated
to 4108 Cartwright Drive in Kokomo
from Sharpsville about a year ago, its work
in the Galveston and Logansport areas
has increased. The family decided it was
time to expand their physical presence by
opening a second office in Logansport.
They are renovating a former dry cleaner’s
shop at 2429 E. Market St. to become office
space and a showroom.
And as work gets under way in Logansport,
the company’s mission statement will
continue to rule the way they do business
just as it’s done for the last three decades.
“We exist to care for families, those who
work inside the company and those we
serve outside the company.”
