ELLA JEAN MULLINIX
Funeral services for Ella Jean Mullinix, 65, of Northridge, Ohio, who passed away Oct. 27, 1996, will be held at the convenience of the family at the Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Pastor Staton Posey and Pastor Randy Chestnut will be officiating. Interment will be a Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Mullinix was retired from Delco Products after 25 years.
She was preceded in death by Shelly G. Mullinix in August 1986.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Dale and Debi Mullinix of Pennsylvania, Steve and Debbie Mullinix of Huber Heights, Ohio, Rev. Jeff and Susan Mullinix of Florida; grandchildren, Stefanie, Heather, Fawn, Micah, Chad, Bethany, Scott and Bryant; sister, Peggy Winningham; brothers, Archie Burke, Dallas Burke, Lonnie Burke, Johnny Burke, all of Crossville and Ollie Belle Burke, who was like a sister.

RUDOLPH WILLIAM SCHULT
Memorial services for Rudolph William Schult, 76, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 8, 1996, will be held Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church with interment following. Rev. Merlin Sepmeyer will officiate.
Mr. Schult was born July 16, 1920 in Germany. He was a retired hotel manager and a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Schult of Crossville; daughter, Elza Marra of Hazlet, N.J.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

MINNIE MOONEYHAM
Funeral services for Minnie Belle Mooneyham, 98, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 21, 1996, were conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 from the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with interment at Crossville City Cemetery. Rev. David Allen officiated with special music by Fran Holdsambeck; Bob Spears and Susan Keeler.
Pallbearers were her great-grandsons, Jonathan England, Brian Carter, Jonathan Sidwell, Keith Woody, James Stephens and Jon Dyer; and family friend, Jim Barnes.
Mrs. Mooneyham was born Oct. 1, 1898 in Bledsoe County to James Madison Pugh and Sally Davis Pugh. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wade, Ulysses, Lee and Theodore Pugh; sisters, Ethel Myers, Pearl Hale and Myrtle Pugh.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ivan and Lucille Mooneyham of Crossville; granddaughters and husbands, Jean and Edwin cope of Dayton, Ohio, Jamie and Bob Sidwell of Gallatin, Gail and Jim Sexton of Crossville, Sharon and Chris Bell of Crossville, Carol and Jerry Dyer of Brentwood; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Beatrice Pugh and Ina Blanche Pugh.

Funeral services for A. C. Norrod, 71, of Hanging Limb, who passed away Oct. 25, 1996, were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 from the Chapel of Goff Funeral Home with interment at the Phillips Cemetery in Hanging Limb. Rev. Talmadge Phillips officiated. Mr. Norrod was born June 22, 1935 in Overton County to the late Cortes and Cora Looper Norrod. He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Oma Lee England of Hanging Limb; daughters, Bobbie Hite of Crossville, Brenda Dyle of Muddy Pond, Barbara Cooper and Donna Mercks, both of Maryville; sons, Paul Norrod and William Bill Norrod, both of Hanging Limb; sister, Leva Hammons of Clarkrange, and Deane Harris of Monterey; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

MAGDALENE ANDERSON SCARBROUGH
Funeral services for Magdalene Anderson Scarbrough, 98, of Pleasant Hill, who passed away Oct. 26, 1996, will be conducted at 2 p.m., today Oct. 29 from the Smith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with interment at the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Claudia Mare and Rev. Clayton Padgett will officiate.
Mrs. Scarbrough was born May 8, 1898 in Knox County to the late Robert and Martha Jane Roach Foust. She was a retired housekeeper with Wharton Nursing Home and a member of the Smith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Barlow Anderson and Blaine Scarbrough; sons, Robert, Joseph, and Vernon Anderson; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Ruby Randolph of Smith Chapel, Selah McCormick of Caryville, Nina England of Anderson, Ind.; son, Fletcher Anderson of Silver Point, Tenn.; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

RAY SMITH
Funeral services for Glenn Ray Smith, 77, of Monterey, who passed away Oct. 24, 1996, were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 from the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home with interment at the Phillips Cemetery in the Hanging Limb Community of Overton County. Rev. Olve Tinch officiated.
Pallbearers were his nephews.
Mr. Smith was born Sept. 17, 1919 in Overton County to the late Frank and Elma Smith. He worked for several years as a coal miner and later as a carpenter. He was a member of the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Hodge, brothers, Frank Smith Jr., and Billy Smith; and sisters, Madge Norrod, Ruth Perell and Bernice Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Halie Bowman Smith, son and daughter-in-law, Glyn and Joyce Smith of Monterey; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and David Oakley of Livingston; sisters, Nell Ferell of Livingston, Ruby Sells of Chattanooga, Betty Strong of Moss, Tenn., and Edith Robbins of Battlecreek, Mich.; granddaughter, Cheryl Looper of Crossville; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Robert Clarence Taylor, 61, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 21, 1996, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 from the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with interment at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Rev. D. Wayne Swafford officiated.

Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 2, 1935 in Cumberland County. He was a factory worker and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Emma Elmore Taylor; brothers, James and Charles Taylor; and sister, Ruby Hopper.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Taylor of Crossville; stepdaughters, Shirley Parsons and Sherrita Howard, both of Crossville; stepson, Michael Howard of Crossville; six grandchildren; and brothers, Hubert Taylor and David Taylor, both of Crossville. JANET M. WOOD
Memorial services for Janet M. Wood, 46, of Fairfield Glade, who passed away Oct. 16, 1996, will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Benson will officiate.
Mrs. Wood was born Jan. 30, 1950 in Belleville, Mich., to the late Wylie J. and Shirley (Vorce) Pitcher. She was an avid golfer.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Wood; stepson, Rick Wood of Fenton, Mich.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Pitcher of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Thomas Pitcher of New York, N.Y.; and two nieces.

BILLIE AKINS
Funeral services for Billie Richard Akins, 68, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 17, 1996, were conducted Oct. 20 at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church with interment at Akins Cemetery. Father Paul Wanter officiated.
Pallbearers were Tom Gernt; Charlie Akins; Stuart Hale; Barry Dyer; Scott Hale; Vick Gernt; Tracy Akins; and Franklin Crow.
Mr. Akins was born Dec. 12, 1927 in Muskogee, Okla., to Arthur and Della Lee Hale Akins. He was a retired engineer and member of St. George Episcopal Church in Laguna Hills, Calif. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife Elisabeth Akins of Crossville; daughter, Michelle Jeannette Wood of Centreville, Va.; son, Gregory John Akins of Lake Forrest, Calif.; granddaughter, Margaret Elisabeth Wood; sisters, Jerushia Gernt of Crossville, Gweldia Gannon of Diamond Bar, Calif., Nancy Dodgens of Goose Creek, S.C., Kitty Hale of Crossville; brothers, Donald Akins, Thomas Akins, James Robert Akins and Charlie Akins, all of Crossville.

RENA POTTER KEMMER
Funeral services for Rena Potter Kemmer, 100, of Nashville, who passed away Oct. 18, 1996, were conducted 1 p.m. Oct. 20 from the Chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Old Forrest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dennie Moore officiated.

Mrs. Kemmer was born Feb. 18, 1896 in Daysville, Tenn. She was tax assessor for Cumberland County for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Price and Amanda Horner Price. Survivors include her son, Morris Potter of Crossville; daughter, Marie Young, of Nashville; granddaughter, Ann Young Cumbie of Nashville; grandson, M. Vernon Potter of Crossville; granddaughter, Linda Hassler of Crossville; and five great-grandchildren.

CLARENCE A. SHERRILL
Funeral services for Clarence A. Sherrill, 76, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 6, 1996, were conducted Oct. 19 from the Chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Nobel Wright officiated. Mr. Sherrill was born February 15, 1920 in Burke, Tenn. He was a factory worker and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Pallbearers were Bruce England, Edwin Cope, Earnest Locklear, Mike Hitchcox, John Saylors, and Nick Hedgecoth.
Honorary Pallbearers were First American Home Health nursing staff and technician staff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pola Sherrill and Daun Cordell.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Sherrill of Crossville; daughter, Betty Findley of Crossville; sons, Avery Sherrill of Crossville, Bobby Sherrill, of Mertian, Mich., and Lindy Sherrill of Crossville; sisters, Gladys Sherrill of Crossville, Dorothy Hall of Michigan, Eloise Barnes of Michigan; brother, Baxter Sherrill of Crossville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ANGELA ELLIS SMITH
Funeral Services for Angela Ellis Smith, 90, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 20, 1996, were conducted 11 a.m. Oct. 22 from the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home. Rev. David Allen officiated with special music by Bob Spears and Susan Keeler. Graveside Services were then held at 3:30 p.m. at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville

Honorary Pallbearers were Sam Hassler; James E. Thompson; and David White. Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 30, 1905 in Jefferson City, Tenn. She was a Member of First Baptist Church of Crossville, Charter Member of DAR-Crab Orchard Chapter, Charter Member of Cumberland Medical Center Women's Auxiliary, Founding Member of the Art Circle Public Library. She taught Home Economics at Cumberland County High School in addition to being a wife, homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles M. Smith; daughter, Joanne Smith; granddaughter, Charleen Laird Smith; sister, Cody Ellis Bachman; brother, Dr. Samuel Ellis; and parents, Dr. Joseph Napoleon and Fannie Laird Ellis.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Laird and Jeanene Johnson Smith of Crossville; sisters, Francenia Ellis Herd of Knoxville and Jane Ellis Tracy of Harlem, Ga.; nieces, Angela Riedel of Boulder, Co., and Francenia Tracy Walls of Raleigh, N.C.; nephews, Samuel Laird Ellis of Santo Domingo, D.R., Dr. Joseph Ellis of Brentwood, Tenn., and Lee Tracy and Richard Tracy, both of Harlem, Ga.

ANNIE LEE JONES
Funeral services for Annie Lee Jones, 98, of the Gath Community in DeKalb County, who passed away Thursday Oct. 17, 1996, were conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 from the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with interment at New Bildad Cemetery. Elder Paul Violet officiated.
Mrs. Jones was born in DeKalb County to the late John and Julia Cantrell Byars. She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. View Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Harding, and second husband, I.C. Jones Sr.
Survivors include her sons, Walter Harding of Crossville; Edward Harding and John Harding, both of McMinnville; daughter, Doris Grandey of Lewisville; step daughters, Rosa Nelson of Battlecreek, Mich., Eula Mae Bain and Hallie Bain, both of McMinnville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

FOY ELMO REDWINE
Funeral service for Foy Elmo Redwine, 54, of Crab Orchard, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 1996, in Cumberland Medical Center, was 3 p.m. EDT Oct. 21 in Crab Orchard Church of God of Prophecy. The Rev. Terry Bear officiated. Burial was in the Redwine Cemetery of Crab Orchard.
Mr. Redwine was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Gladys Redwine. Survivors include three brothers, Charles Ray Redwine and Jeffrey Lynn Redwine, both of Rockwood, and Jerry Wayne Redwine of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood was in charge of arrangements.


HORACE HOWARD
Funeral service for Richard Horace Howard, 68, of Rickman, who passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996, in Columbia Livingston Regional Hospital, is 2 p.m. Oct. 22 in Horner Funeral Home chapel of Monterey. The Rev. Dailey McCowan will officiate. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Howard was born Sept. 3, 1928 in Overton County, the son of Harvey and Vula Matthews Howard. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he was retired from General Motors with 37 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlis Howard and James Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn McCowan Howard; a son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Susan Howard of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Jay Westerfield of Bloomington, Ind., and Dixie and Pete Kicovich of Ellenwood, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Kai Westerfield of Bloomington; two brothers, Grady Howard of Martinsville, Ind., and Bill Howard of Crossville; two sisters, Mildred Livingston of Livingston and Jo Morales of Crossville.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Westerfield, Fred McCowan, Estle McCowan, Jimmy McCowan, Harlie McCowan and Carlie McCowan.


ARLOLA BOLEY JACKSON
Funeral services for Arlola Boley Jackson, 77, of Newport, were conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 from the Brown Funeral Chapel with interment following at the Faubian Cemetery. Rev. James Suggs officiated.
Pallbearers were Billy Jackson, Brad Jackson, Glen Jackson, Willie Blanchard, Stan Yarber and David Seay.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of Mannings Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Jackson; sisters, Elizabeth Townsend, Josephine Blanchard; brothers, Leonard, Charles and Mitchell Boley; son-in-law, Lynn "Bevo" Ford; and great-grandson, Jake McNabb.
Survivors include her children, William "J.C." and wife, Mary Lou Jackson; Mrs. Carl (Shirley) McNabb; Mrs. Lynn (Vivian) Ford, Jerry "Monk" and wife, Linda Jackson; all of Newport, Donnie and wife, Regina Jackson of Greeneville; Jennifer Miller of Crossville; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Orlena Bugg (her twin) and Geneva Hayes, both of Newport; brother, J.P. RAY KING
Funeral services for Willie Ray King, 87, of Monterey, who passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 1996, were conducted from the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Rev. William J. Powell and Rev. Dewitt Sampley officiated.
Mr. King was born April 6, 1909 in Fentress County and was the son of the late John and Rosetta Matthews King. He was a member of the Monterey First Baptist Church and owned and operated the Imperial Hotel in Monterey until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Ford King; and brothers, Rosby and Roy King. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Greg Bright; grandson, Aarol Bright, all of Monterey; sisters, Ruby Smith of Peoria, Ill.; and Roxie Sams of Monterey; and brother Robert Bob King of Monterey.
Mr. King's nephew's served as pallbearers.

BETTY LENORE ADER
Funeral services for Betty Lenore Ader, 75, of Lake Tansi, who passed away Oct. 12, 1996, will be conducted today, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. from Burris Funeral Home with interment at Cave Hill Cemetery of Louisville, Ky., Thursday, Oct. 17. Rev. Wayne Markum and Rev. Bob Hallatt will officiate.
Mrs. Ader was born Dec. 31, 1920 in Indiana. She was a homemaker and a member of Lantana Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Monroe Ader of Lake Tansi; sons, James Steven Ader of Oakland, Calif., and Lawrence Lee Ader of Harrodsburg, Ky.; daughters, Peggy Wagoner of Russell, Ky., and Brenda Agee of Conway, S.C.; brothers, Bruce McKercher of Sellersburg, Ind., and Bob McKercher of Oregon; sister, Barbara Jean West of Louisville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM DON EBERHART
Funeral services for William Don Eberhart of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 18, 1996, were conducted 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 from Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Glenn Goggins, R.C. Maples and Rev. Marlayna Schmidt officiated.
Mr. Eberhart was born Oct. 19, 1932 in Rockmart, Ga., and moved to Hixson, Tenn. As a young child, he attended Hixson schools and graduated from Glencoe High in Glencoe, Ala. He was a veteran with service in the U.S. Air Force. He held both a B.S. and M.S. degree from Tennessee Technology University. His career in education began as head football coach at Midway High School. He has served the Crossville community as teacher; football coach; principal of both elementary and high school; superintendent of schools and as city manager.
Following his local positions in education, he joined the Tennessee Department of Corrections as principal of education at Bledsoe Regional Corrective Facility. He also served as associate regional director of special education for the Entire Tennessee Prison System as well as Warden at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. He ended his career as director of education for all juvenile institutions in the state.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick William and Lillian I.V. Eberhart. He was a member of West End Church of Christ.
Pallbearers were Jim Butler, David Crabtree, Dayle Hedgecoth, Don Hinch, Tom Looney, Paul Pennington, Lane Tollett and Ralph White.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Swann Eberhart; sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick David and Donna Maples Eberhart of Crossville, and Thomas Randall and Jane Culpepper Eberhart of Dotham, Ala.; grandchildren, Jonathan, Heather, Jake, Nicholas, and Zachery Eberhart, all of Crossville; brother, Dwain E. Eberhart of Chattanooga; sisters, Mrs. Clifton (Idell) O'Neil; Mrs. Mary E. Davis, both of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Lillian E. Schmidt of Boston, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; paternal uncle; aunt; and several cousins.

DON KING
Funeral services for E. Don King, 68, of Homesteads, who passed away Oct. 16, 1996, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 from the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with interment at Willard Park Cemetery in Harriman. Bro. Terry Bear officiated. Mr. King was born July 13, 1928 in Harriman. He was an appliance repairman and former employee of Roselon Southern and Cumberland County Health Department. He was of the Baptist faith and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Pallbearers were Ted King, Jim King, Andreas Bardill, David Laxton, Charles Laxton, Taylor Cunningham and Andy DeMatteo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe King and Anna Mae King; grandson, Walt Cunningham; sisters, Willie E. King and Willa Edna King.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Bardill King of Crossville; daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Charles Laxton of Harriman, and Daphne and Taylor Cunningham of Crossville; grandchildren, David Laxton, Misty Laxton and Jennifer Cunningham; sister, Lou DeMatteo of Nashville; brother, Jim King of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

IRENE NEELY
Funeral services for Irene Nannie Neely, 74, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 17, 1996, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 from the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with interment at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Rev. Joe Campbell and Rev. Will Hugh Campbell officiated.
Mrs. Neely was born March 13, 1922 in Cumberland County to A.R. Bolin and Verdie Burgess Bolin. She was a housewife and member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews; Adam, Paul, and Brad Neely; Derek and Jason Roberts; Matthew Loveday; Harold Bolin.
Survivors include, her daughters, Wilma Roberts of Laurel, Md., Mary Lee, Donna Loveday, both of Crossville, and Pamela Stoebart of Calif.; sons, Dean Neely of Crossville and Doug Neely of Clarksville; former husband, Willie A. MARY FRANCES WATSON BIRDWELL
Funeral services for Mary Frances Watson Birdwell, 76, of Cookeville, who passed away Monday Sept. 2, 1996, were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Dyer Funeral Home with interment at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Birdwell was born in Warren County, Tn., July 26, 1920 to the late George R. and Maggie Elrod Watson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Jefferson Ave. Church of Christ.

DR. A. D. STAMPS
Funeral services for Dr. A.D. Stamps, 74, of Cookeville, who passed away Sept. 26, 1996, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with burial at Mayland Cemetery. Revs. David Crowe, Joe Roysden and Carson Whiteaker officiated with special music by Jim Gaw, Geoffrey and Pam Rodgers. The firing detail and presentation of the flag at the cemetery were conducted by Sparta National Guard with Taps played by Donald Looney. Pallbearers were Monroe Walker, Geoff Rodgers, Junior Stamps, Kenneth Akers, Terry Cameron, Billy C. Smith and Al Glover. Dr. Stamps was born May 1, 1922 in Monterey. He attended schools in Cumberland County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and became disabled because of injuries received during this time. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
On July 24, 1944 he married Oneida Earle Guinn, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Dr. Stamps was a graduate of the Caribbean College of Bible and received his doctorate in divinity in May 1991. He received the CBI Award in May 1989 (China, Burma, India). He was a member of the Cookeville Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Mae Stamps; daughter, Judy Rose; brother, William P. Stamps; and sister, Lola Mae Beaty.
Survivors include his wife, Oneida Stamps of Cookeville; daughter, Virginia Wheelock of Cookeville; grandchildren, Darla Wheelock of Cookeville, Kari Richards of Bloomington, Ind., Robbie Kiehl of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kelly Crafton of Fairland, Ind.; six great grandchildren; brother, Andrew Stamps of Cookeville; several nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

HOWARD H. BOOTH
Funeral services for Howard H. Booth, 72, of Rockwood, who passed away Friday Oct. 4, 1996, were conducted Sunday, Oct. 6 from the Booth Memorial Chapel with interment Monday at Oak Grove Cemetery. Linwood Smith Officiated.
Mr. Booth was a funeral director/embalmer, and half-owner of the Booth Funeral Home in Rockwood for fifty years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; Rockwood's Fire Chief from 1965-1973; member and past master of the Rockwood Lodge No. 430 F&AM; member of the Knoxville Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies; Rockwood Order of the Eastern Star No. 382; Alhambra Temple in Chattanooga; Oak Leaf Lodge No. 49 (Knights of Pythias) in Rockwood, the Rockwood Chapter of the American Legion and received the Grand Cross of Color from the Order of the Rainbow for Girls; a music lover, he helped form Rockwood High School's first band, taught music, and was a member of the First Christian Church Orchestra.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Howard and Minna Ruth Booth; and a nephew, Michael S. Booth.
Survivors include, his son and daughter-in-law, John and Terra Booth of the Westel Community of Rockwood; daughter, Laurel Booth of Westel; beloved granddaughter, Lindsey Booth of Westel; twin brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jimmie Jean Booth of Rockwood; and nephew, Robert Fain Booth of Arizona. Mr. Brewer was born July 22, 1907 in Crossville to John Douglas and Anna Jane (Davis) Brewer and moved from that area to Wooster in 1929.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1974 with more than 30 years service. He was a member of the Lamplighters in Wooster. He married Evelyn M. Bowman in Maysville, Ky., on April 27, 1942.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Eddie Clay Maynard; brothers, Lee, Walter, Homer, Edgar, and Oscar Brewer; and sisters, Peg Bates, Lillie Blaylock and Minnie Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. Bowman Brewer; daughters, Mrs. Ted (ZoeAnn) Boring of Barberton and Mrs. Bill (Norma) McAdams of Smyrna; one step-son and his wife, Ed K. RUSSELL PERRY FAIRFIELD
Russell Perry Fairfield, 83, went to his eternal rest on Oct. 7, at the home of his youngest daughter, Janice Cayot, of Crossville, where he had been a patient of Hospice of Cumberland County since Sept. 5.
Mr. Fairfield, a resident of Fairfield Glade since 1989, previously of Fort Meyers, Fla., was a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., where he was co-owner of Fairfield Brothers Service Station, Fairfield Brothers Locker. He retired from Branstrator Engineering in 1975. He and his wife, Margaret (Stark) were married in Fort Wayne in 1936, marking this Oct. 31 as their 60th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Virginia, Crossville; daughters, Carole Ann Kleinrichert, Deerfield Breach, Fla., and Janice Ruth Cayot, Crossville; sisters, Violet Meyers, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Ruth Neuenschwander, Plantation, Fla., six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His parents and three brothers precede him in death.
