He was born June 13, 1904 in Winter Park, Fla., one of four sons of Dr. and Mrs. Fred P. Ensminger. The Rev. Ensminger was an educator, working primarily at Southern Union College in Wadley, Ala., and at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Margaret Goodhue Ensminger; four daughters of Seattle, Wash., Charleston, S.C., and Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, John, of Birmingham, Ala.
He was born April 27, 1930, in Tazewell, Tenn., the son of Charles and Martha Rouse Lynch. Mr. Lynch was a store manager for Stuckey's, and he was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Stamps worked for more than 23 years with the Clinchfield Coal Company. From 1943 until 1968, he served as a deputy sheriff in Putnam County. From 1968 until his retirement in 1980, he was the chief of police of Monterey. He was an avid CB operator, and owned the first CB radio in the Monterey area. He was known as the "Lawman," with numerous CB clubs throughout the Mid-South of which he was a member. He was a member of the Monterey First Baptist Church. He was also a member of both the Tennessee Sheriff's Association, and the Tennessee Police Chief's Association.

Mr. Shaffer, a native of Newark, N.J., attended New York University, then went to work for the U.S. War Department at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, N.J. While there, he met and married the former Norma A. MacMullin of Atlantic City, N.J. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and spent four years active duty in the South Pacific in submarine service.
In 1952, the Shaffer family moved to Tennessee, where he established a business, J.M. Shaffer Quarries Inc., which is now being operated by his sons.
While a Crossville resident, Mr. Shaffer served as a city commissioner, and as a member of the chamber of commerce. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner and an avid sportsman. The Shaffer family is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crossville.
In 1980, Mr. Shaffer retired from the stone business, turning it over to his sons, and moved to Florida. After living first in North Miami and Lauderhill, the Shaffers finally settled at the Evergreen Club in Palm City. Survivors include his wife, Norma MacMullen Shaffer; sons, Jack Jr. and David, both of Crossville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was interested in a wide range of craft work, especially Eggre, and loved to entertain.
