Mrs. Bales was born May 9, 1909. She was employed as a secretary in the engineering department of Delco Remy. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and several women's bridge groups. She volunteered for the YMCA. She had many avid interests including gardening, sawing, bird watching, fishing, camping, solving crossword puzzles and traveling. She was also active with her husband in the townhome community contributing to gardening and recreation projects and hosting annual Christmas parties. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward Bales.

Survivors include her husband, Max G. Bales of Lake Tansi; son, David L. Funeral services for Gaither James "Tobe" Adams, 95, formerly of Crossville, who passed away Sept. 7, 1996, were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Cloverdale Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Housh officiated with interment following at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Adams was born May 24, 1901 in Crossville to Jim and Amanda Adams, Tennessee farmers and pioneers. He moved to Idaho with his wife and children in the early 1930s. He was a carpenter and building contractor. He loved hunting and fishing and visiting with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ova; son, Wayland; four brothers; and a grandson, Scott Miller. Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. James, C.A. DOROTHY A. GALBREATH

Mrs. Galbreath was born Dec. 22, 1911 in Winamac to Henry J. and Anna M. Snyder Link. She married the late John C. Passmore in 1931 in Knox, Ind. She later married Chester E. Galbreath, who passed away April 21, 1985. She was a homemaker, member of First Christian Church of Winamac and Christian Women's Fellowship of Church and former employee of Pulaski Memorial Hospital of Winamac. She lived most her life in Winamac, but resided in Fairfield Glade for several years.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Link and Raymond Link; sons, Ward Passmore and Ron Passmore; and daughter, Jacqueline Passmore.

Funeral services for Bessie Jane Orme, 91, of Pikeville, who passed away Dec. 1, 1996, were conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with interment at Parham Cemetery. Rev. Russell Honeycutt officiated with special music by the Faith Baptist Gospel Singers.

Mrs. Orme was born Jan. 15, 1905 in Cumberland County to Ike and Ollie Campbell Burgess. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Tommy Burgess; sisters, Many Swafford, Lorene Burgess and Baby Girl Burgess.

Survivors include her sons, Bob Orme and Charlie Orme, both of Crossville; daughters, Violet Sikes of Nashville and Mary Coats of Memphis; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Cora Kerley and Mertie Nail, both of Crossville, Nellie Houston and Fannie Walton, both of Ohio; and brother, Bill Burgess of Ohio.

Funeral services for Albert Battistoli, 75, of Crossville, who passed away Dec. 3, 1996, were conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 from Burris Funeral Home with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. Dan Haskins officiated. A Masonic service was held 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Mr. Battistoli was born Oct. 4, 1921 in Pennsylvania. He was a member of Homestead Baptist Church. He was a retired teacher and member of the Crossville Lodge No. 483, Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife Winnie Battistoli of Crossville; son, Albert Terry Battistoli of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Joe Battistoli of Elizabethtown, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services for Scott E. Elliott of Sparta, who passed away Nov. 29, 1996 in an auto accident in South Bay, Fla., will be conducted at Christ Church of Ridley Park, Penn.

Mr. Elliott was the son of the late Edna and Ernest Elliott. He was a machine operator for Swallows Produce and a member of Christ Church of Ridley Park.

Mr. Davis was the pastor of several Baptist Churches in Morgan, Roane and Cumberland counties for the past 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoy V. and Ella M. Hall Davis and brother, Gordan Talmadge Davis.

Mrs. Grove was born July 30, 1904 in Indiana. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a retired clerk of Indiana Electric. She was a Past Worthy Patron of Chapter No. 230, Order of the Eastern Star in Parker City, Ind., of which she had the privilege of serving as Worthy Matron; former member of Selma Women's Club and member of S.O.S.; an active member of the Methodist Women's Club in Selma and Syracuse; and a former secretary of Goshen No. 397 Q.E.S. Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leamont and Ina Gilmore Bird; and sisters, Felma Bird and Cletis Miller.

Survivors include her son, Earl Grove of Fairfield Glade; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

Ada McNeal, 88, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 27, 1996 at Cumberland Medical Center. She was born Sept. 26, 1908 in Monterey to Thomas and Etta Buttram King. Mrs. McNeal was a factory worker and member of the Nazarene Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McNeal. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Franklin and husband, O.W., of Crossville, and Helen C. Ball of Rockingham, N.C.
