A native of Crossville, he was the son of Judge Reuben A. and Maude Kemmer Powel.
Mr. Powel, a former commercial pilot, electronic engineer and astronomer, was a 1930 graduate of Cumberland Mountain School and graduated college in 1935 with degrees in math and physics. He was a distributor for Taylorcraft Airplanes for a number of years. During World War II, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent to Middle Tennessee State University as commandant of the Cadet Flight School. After the war, he continued as an instructor at various operation and flew actively for 25 years. Mr. Powel retired for General Electric Motor Appliance department in 1974. He owned an observatory used frequently by astronomy students from Vanderbilt and MTSU. He was a member of College Heights Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Maude Hall Powel of Murfreesboro; son, Charles W. Powel of Murfreesboro; daughter, Pauline Moore of Chattanooga; and grandson, Chris Moore of Chattanooga.

He operated Fairfield Radio Service and Fairfield Camera Repair of more than 60 years, and was credited with building the first working television in Fort Wayne in 1926.

Mr. Fuell was a truck driver for Lehman Cartage in North Ridgeville and retired in 1977 after 25 years. After retirement, he was self-employed as an electrician. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the 541st Parachute Infantry and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Hale Fuell; son, Larry Fuell of North Ridgeville; daughters, Edna Bash of Brunswick, OH, and Brenda Kilby of Crab Orchard; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Bristow of North Ridgeville; and brother, Richard Hill of Elyria, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sally Fuell; sister, Clara Thompkins; and brothers, Bo Fuell and Charles Hill.
