He was born April 9, 1907 in Asheville, NC, the son of Joseph McDowell Dougherty and Annie Rebecca Campbell Dougherty.
Dr. Dougherty was a graduate of Christ School in Arden, NC, and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He attended medical school at Chapel Hill and New York University. He served as a major in the U.S. Army, directing a field hospital which followed Patton's Army through Europe during World War II. He practiced urology in Knoxville for more than 35 years, and also served as a staff physician at Lake Shore Mental Health Institute. While living in Knoxville, he was active in St. John's Cathedral, The Church of the Ascension and The Church of the Good Shepherd. He served as president of the Knoxville Symphony, and was very active in the arts community. During his retirement in Crossville, he and his wife, Florence, were involved with the Episcopal Church and many social and arts organizations, including the Cumberland County Playhouse. Until his death, he remained professionally active, serving on the staffs of Cumberland Medical Center and Wharton Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife, Florence, of Wharton Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill; brother, Albert Dougherty of Knoxville; sons, Boone Dougherty of Atlanta, John Dougherty of Knoxville, and Rowan Dougherty of Holiday Island, AR; daughter, Louise Stalnaker of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many friends and previous patients.

She was born September 4 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Jacob and Emma Morrise Huber. Mrs. Tupper and her husband settled in Lake Tansi Village in the 1980s. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, and the Homemaker's Club at Lake Tansi.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Steve Gierak of Redford, MI; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two nephews and a niece, all of Baltimore; and many dear friends at Lake Tansi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audrid (Red) Tupper.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bessie Whited Adkisson; daughter, Joyce Bray of Pensacola, FL; sons and daughters-in-law; Jack and Judy Adkisson of Cleveland, TN, David W. Mrs. Cunningham worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk, and was a member of the Methodist Church in Spencer. She was considered by many to be the matriarch of Spencer Mountain, having lived in Spencer for more than 55 years.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. David Cunningham of Memphis, and John Cunningham of Athens, GA; daughter, Sue Ledford of Florence, AL; six grandsons; three granddaughters; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lane Cunningham.
