Vernon K. Barnett
March 9, 1938 - Jan. 24, 2006

Vernon Keith Barnett, 67, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 24, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 27 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Martha Hale officiating. Full military honors were provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mr. Barnett was born March 9, 1938 in Crossville, the son of Wilmer and Beulah (Wilson) Barnett.
He was a member of Dorton Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Navy, a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva (Myers) Barnett of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Karen Barnett and Wayne and Elizabeth Barnett, all of Crossville; daughter, Verna Dixon of Crossville; father, Wilmer Barnett of Hebbertsburg; brothers, Kenneth Barnett of Crossville, Curtis Barnett of Seaford, DE and Larry Barnett of Hebbertsburg; sister, Sheritta Monday of Crab Orchard; and grandchildren, Chris, Amanda and Jessica, all of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah (Wilson) Barnett; brothers, Lane, Lewis, Carroll and Layern; and sisters, Dianna and Doris.
Pallbearers were Ed Rose, Bruce Rose, John Hale, Tony Hall, Rick Barnett and Chris Hall.

Lorean Davis
Jan. 19, 1930 - Jan. 24, 2006

Lorean (Lynn) Davis of Crossville passed away Jan. 24, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 26 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Junior Pugh, long time family friend, officiating. Special music was by Shirley Maynard, Connie Pena and Junior Pugh. Burial was in Crossville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 19, 1930 in Gainsboro, the daughter of Shelby and Molly (Goad) Lynn.
She was a homemaker, loving mother of nine children and a nurse technician with 23 years at Cumberland Medical Center. She was also a member of Light House of Praise Church.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Dr. Lacy B. Shaw of Alexandria, LA, Kathy Bilyeu of Crossville, Debbie and Ronnie Rigsby of McMinnville, Joyce and Ron Edwards of Crossville, Clara Davis of Crossville, Edna Davis of Crossville and Carla and Jimmy Cox of Crossville; son, James "Randy" Davis of Crossville; stepmother, "Ma" Brina Lynn; sisters, Bobbie Heady, Frances Murphy, Helen Kernel, Faye Kernel, Patricia Powers, Ann Allen, Gale Lofit, Winnie Bee Craighead and Modean Pruett; brothers, Joe Lynn and Lester Fred Lynn; grandchildren, Tonya Boatman, Rodney and J.J. Truman H. Tinch
April 11, 1945 - Jan. 27, 2006

Truman Henry Tinch, 60, of Livingston, passed away Jan. 27, 2006. Visitation was conducted Jan. 30. The family has chosen cremation.
Mr. Tinch was born April 11, 1945 in Putnam County, the son of Hubert and Juanita (Hinson) Tinch.
He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Church of God of Faith.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Randy Ogletree of Cookeville, Kathy and Jeff Goolsby of Carthage, Amy and Darrell Henry of Cookeville and Melissa Wilson of Crossville; brothers and sister-in-law, Alvin Tinch of Texas and Shirley and Janice Tinch of Indiana; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Boles, Pearl Judd and Lillie and Jim Lafever, all of Cookeville; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special niece and husband, Cheryl and Leroy Rex of Monterey; and special friend, Ruth Mabry of Westmoreland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl, Lonnie, Bennie and L.B. Tinch; and grandson, Cody Ogletree.

Elizabeth H. Inman
Aug. 25, 1912 - Jan. 19, 2006

Elizabeth Hamby Inman, 93, of the Homestead community, passed away Jan. 19, 2006, after a short hospital stay while visiting her daughter in San Antonio, TX. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 24, with interment at Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Inman (Lizzie as many affectionately called her) was born Aug. 25, 1912, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Hamby in Morgan County.
At the age of 17, on Sept. 25, 1929, she married Ed Inman, to whom she was a faithful and loving wife for 57 years. Their union was blessed with eight children, 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful woman who was dedicated to her family, friends, and community throughout her life.
The family was living in Harriman when Ed was one of the first 25 men chosen to receive a Homestead site as part of the Cumberland Homesteads Project. Families with a reputation for being hardworking, honest, and good citizens qualified for the project. The Inman family, through hard work and dedication to the Homestead Project, created a loving home on Huckleberry Lane.
Elizabeth, in addition to being a wife, mother and homemaker, was employed by the Cumberland County School System. During her employment days, she lovingly prepared meals for the students at Cumberland County High School and Homestead Elementary School. After many years of service, she retired to spend time with her husband.
Mrs. Inman, a member of the Homestead Baptist Church, will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her six devoted children, Callie Whittaker, Charles Inman, and Christopher Inman of Dayton, OH, Carolyn Robinson of Sparta, Curtis Inman of Nashville, and Charlotte Cook of San Antonio, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Inman; and two sons, Carl Inman and Clarence Inman.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Malcolm E. Sower
Jan. 22, 2006

Malcolm E. Sower, 88, passed away Jan. 22, 2006, at his home in Crossville, TN. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 26 at Jones and Son Funeral Home, Oneida, TN. A graveside service followed at Chitwood Cemetery, Winfield, TN. Services were officiated by Pastor Fred Ward of Heritage Baptist Church, LaFollette, TN, and Pastor Bob Schoolfield of Victory Baptist Church.
Mr. Sower was born in Scottsville, MI, and resided for 45 years in Temperance, MI, before moving to Crossville in 1990. He served as an Army sergeant in the South Pacific during World War II. He was employed for over 40 years by the Lathrop Co., Toledo, OH, retiring in 1985 as project superintendent. He was a current member of Victory Baptist Church, Crossville, and was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, OH, where he served for 43 years and was instrumental in supervising various early church building programs.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Lucille; daughters, Dawn Sower, Deborah (Dave) Wokaty of Rensselaer, NY, and Diane (Dana) Smoke of Canton, GA; son, David (Rebecca) Sower of Cedar Hill, TN; grandchildren, Madeline Sower, Lauren Smoke, Kelsey Smoke, Emily Smoke, Erin Sower, Sarah Wokaty, Hannah Wokaty and Luke Sower; brother, Christopher; and sister, Floy Sower Shank.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Dorothy; brothers, William, Paul and Donald; and sisters, Naomi Sower Cramer and Lucy Sower Anderson.
Mr. Sower was followed in death the same day by his brother, Edson.

Bobby D. England
Oct. 19, 1935 - Jan. 22, 2006

Bobby "Dusty" Dwain England, 70, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 22, 2006.
Mr. England was born in the Homesteads of Cumberland County on Oct. 19, 1935, the son of Henry Clay England and Georgia Lee Johnson England.
He was a truck driver and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was of the Church of Christ faith and his greatest enjoyment in life came when he was breaking horses, trail riding and camping.
Survivors include his sons, Bobby D. England Jr., Daniel H. England and David F. England; daughter, Brenda Dawn England; stepson, Christopher S. Selk; ex-wife, Maureen Selk; grandchildren, Joshua Bohannon and Kristin Selk; sisters, Gwendolyn Hitchcox of Knoxville, Berneice McNeill of Crossville and Eula Lee Cope of Dayton, OH; brother-in-law, Mac McNeill of Crossville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Henrietta Sherrill; and brother, James Bruce England.

Glenna R. Harris
Jan. 22, 2006

Glenna R. Dyer Harris, 71, of Pikeville, passed away Jan. 22, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 25 from the chapel of Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Ritzman and the Rev. Delbert Raines officiating. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Harris of Pikeville; daughters, Pat Mills, Stella Hale and Annette Kilgore, all of Spencer; sons, Doug and Ernest Kilgore of Crossville and Dennis Kilgore of Cookeville; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Beatty of Lakeland, FL, Pauline Fann of Dayton, OH and Louetta Goga of Porterville, CA; brothers, Loyd Bilbrey of Pensacola, FL and Jennings Bilbrey of Virginia Beach, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenny Kilgore and Neal Dyer; granddaughter, Toni DeAnn Hale; sister, Ernestine King; and brother, Floyd Bilbrey.

Mary E. Stockard
Jan. 22, 2006

Mary Eunice Cline Stockard, 92, a lifetime resident of Johnson City, passed away Jan. 22, 2006. A celebration of life service was conducted Jan. 24, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home of Johnson City, with the Rev. Baron Eliason officiating. The graveside committal service was held Jan. 25 in Crossville City Cemetery.
Ms. Stockard was a native of Crossville, TN, and the daughter of the late Sherman and Sallie Deatherage Cline.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City for over 60 years including past-president of the Women's Bible Class. She was a retired registered nurse beginning at the Veterans Administration of Mountain Home, TN, followed with over 30 years as a public health nurse for the Washington County Health Department. After post-graduate work at Nashville Peabody College, she concluded her career as director of the Washington Count Crippled Children's Service with retirement in 1976.
Ms. Stockard was a past member of the American Business Women's Association and named "Woman of the Year" in 1982. She was very active in the community in volunteer work such as the local chapter of the American Red Cross, the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a member of the board for Juvenile Judge Shirley Underwood.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Charles G. and Dorothy Stockard, Jr. of Hacienda Heights, CA, and Raymond C. and Judy Stockard, Sr. of Morristown, TN; 10 grandchildren, Sharon and John Purifoy of Bristol, VA, Raymond C. and Shannon Stockard, Jr. of Hiltons, VA, Chip and Pam Stockard of Hendersonville, TN, Jennifer Holder of Murfreesboro, TN, Beth and Mike Kerney of Atlanta, GA, Brian Stockard of Mechanicsburg, PA, Brad and Melissa Smith of Austin, TX, Matt and Anita Smith of Yorba Linda, CA, Delana and Pat Day of Sellersburg, IN, and Dedra and Pat Shell of Limestone, TN; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family thanks Ms. Gerrie Steele of Kingsport, TN, and Ms. Vickie Dearing of Morristown, TN, for the loving care given to Ms. Stockard the final 10 years of her life.

Mary L. Tucker

Mary Leta (Johnson) Tucker, 82, formerly of Crossville, passed away Jan. 20, 2006 in Freemont, OH. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 22 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Ralph Reagan officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Tucker was born Feb. 19, 1923 in Overton County, the daughter of George and Loretta (Eldridge) Johnson.
Survivors include her sons, Ray Tucker of Ohio, Robert Tucker of Ohio and Freddy G. Tucker of Crossville; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Viola Rodgers, Dovie Johnson and Julie Ann Johnson; and brothers, Joe, Calvin and Curtis Lee Johnson.

Betty S. Bartges
Jan. 14, 2006

Betty Suddath Bartges, 81, passed away Jan. 14, 2006 after a long illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Bartges was born and raised in Roane County, the daughter of James and Beth Suddath.
She lived many years in Mississippi and had lived for the last 30 years in Crossville.
Survivors include her sisters, Gertrude Gant of Oak Ridge and Helen Dyer of Harriman; nieces and nephews, Julie Shepard of Idaho Springs, CO, John Gant of Denver, NC, Carol Gant of Oak Ridge, Leslie Fox of Clinton and Tom and Bob Tilley of Harriman; and good friend, Dave Burgess of Crossville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bartges.

Donald R. Bordenkircher
Dec. 31, 1922 - Jan. 13, 2006

Donald Richard Bordenkircher, 83, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 13, 2006. Graveside services were held Jan. 16 at Green Acres Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Max Mayo officiating.
Mr. Bordenkircher was born Dec. 31, 1922 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, the son of Frank and Ava (Graham) Bordenkircher.
He was a loving father and husband. He was retired from Crossville Rubber Plant as a chemical engineer and was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of VFW Post 1733 and Smoky Mountain Knoxville Volunteers. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hannah Mae (McConnell) Bordenkircher of Crossville; son, David Bordenkircher of Nashville; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Mark Sanders of Lebanon, Mary Bordenkircher, Rebecca Bordenkircher and Barbara Bordenkircher, all of Crossville; grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth Sanders of Lebanon; and brother, Bruce Bordenkircher of Livermore, CA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Carlton.
Pallbearers were David Bordenkircher, Michael Sanders and Mark Sanders.

M.C. Deck Sr.
Oct. 6, 1927 - Jan. 9, 2006

M.C. Deck Sr., 78, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 9, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 12 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Lawrence and Bro. Dillard Cantrell officiating. Burial was in Woody Cemetery.
Mr. Deck was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Cumberland County, the son of Mayford Calvin and Rilla Ann Shillings Deck.
He was self-employed as an auto body repairman and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of Isoline Baptist Church. He loved working with his hands and taking care of his church which he did as long as he was able. He also enjoyed playing chess.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 57 years, Anna Henline Deck; son and daughter-in-law, M.C. Jr. and Ruthie Deck; grandchild, M.C. Deck III; brother-in-law, Jim Henline; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers were M.C. Deck Jr., M.C. Deck III, Bobby Deck, Charles Medley, Damon Allred and Lynn Deck.

Donathan K. Hall
Jan. 7, 2006

Donathan Kenneth Wallace Hall, 25, passed away Jan. 7, 2006. He would have always called Morgan County his home, but had recently moved to Crossville last May. He touched many lives there as well as in Roane County where he had made many friends.
He was planning to wed girlfriend Elizabeth Voyles of Roane, Morgan and Cumberland counties early in the year of 2008.
He is survived by his father, Kenneth Orville Hall, and was the only child of Carolyn Sue Wallace. He is also survived by his grandfather, Wayne Wallace; halfsisters, Melonie and Lora; brothers-in-law, Jami Dishman and Tim Flowers; nieces and nephews, Tyler and Whitney Flowers, Tim Crabtree, Austin and Stacia Dishman; uncles, Sam, Hubert Hall and Steve Randy Wallace; aunts, Tammy Wallace, Diane Onks, Juanita Hall, Donita Edwards, Trish Sheppard, Judy Durham, Maxine Nelson and Peggy Magee; girlfriend, Elizabeth Voyles; future in-laws, Betty and Thomas Boduch, Donny Voyles and Josh Voyles; and many special friends including Doyle and Mary Haase of Crossville and everyone at Goody's Family Clothing in Crossville.
The family received friends on Jan. 9 in Sunbright at Schubert Funeral Home. Funeral services followed the next day at Friends Chapel Church in Deerlodge, TN. He was then laid to rest at the church cemetery.

Naomi Hall
March 7, 1908 - Jan. 17, 2006

Naomi Hall, 97, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 17, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 19 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Bob Holder officiating. Burial was in Linary Cemetery.
Mrs. Hall was born March 7, 1908 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Fred and Maude Houston.
She was a homemaker and a member of Linary Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, making special rugs and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter, Lucille Hassler; special daughter-in-law, Eunice Hall; grandchildren, David and Dwight Hassler, Joy Burkhart and Jill Hassler, all of Crossville, Darrell Hassler of Spokane, WA, Pam Miles and Kim Williams of Elyria, OH and Sandy Ledbetter of Jamestown; great-grandchildren, Lynn, Terry, Barbie, Daniel, Lauren, Christina and Jason Hassler, Brian Miles, Haskel Ledbetter, Vicky Schoeffel, Bethany Schoeffel and Mathew Williams; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Nelson and John Houston of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ridley Hall; son, James Hall; son-in-law, Elmo Hassler; granddaughter, Judy Hassler; brothers, Noah, Nolan and Dod Houston; and sister, Noba Norris.
Pallbearers were David Hassler, Dwight Hassler, Lynn Hassler, Terry Hassler, Haskel Ledbetter and Lyle Houston.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Linary Church of Christ building fund.

Mattie L. Isaacson
Feb. 17, 1924 - Jan. 13, 2006

Mattie Luevada (Nichols) Isaacson, 81, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 13, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 16 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Tony Wilson and Bro. Hank Jones officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Isaacson was born Feb. 17, 1924 in Davidson County, the daughter of Solon and Edna Jewel (Maddux) Nichols.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Eden Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sharon Isaacson and Mike and Terry K. Isaacson, all of Crossville; grandchildren, Travis Isaacson of Crossville, Shannon McGhee and Whitney Isaacson of Crossville; great-grandchildren, Cade and Drake Isaacson and Issac and Treven McGhee; sister, Edna Willease Brown of Madison Heights, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Urho Isaacson; sister, Dorothy Smith; and brother, Baby Boy Nichols.

Everett J. Potter
June 5, 1932 - Jan. 15, 2006

Everett Junior Potter, 73, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 15, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 18 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Tony Wilson, Bro. Luther Massingale, and Bro. Junior Brady officiating. Interment was in Haley's Grove Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. Potter was born June 5, 1932 in Crossville, the son of Anis McKinley and Rebecca (Taylor) Potter.
He was retired from Crossville Sanitation Department and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie (Smith) Potter of Crossville; sons, David Potter of Crossville, Tim Potter of Crab Orchard, Mark Potter of Crossville and Randy Potter of Crossville; daughter, Regina Hedgecoth, Rhonda Potter and Vanessa Myers, all of Crossville; brothers, Chat Brady Jr. and Milton Brady of Crossville; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Potter; brothers, William Potter, John Potter, Alec Potter, Abb Potter, Willard Potter and Elvin Potter; and sisters, Dellery Brady, Gracie Potter and Genece Cox.

Robert S. Sanders
Oct. 24, 1927 - Jan. 19, 2006

Dr. Robert Smith Sanders passed away Jan. 19, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 4, at First Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Sanders was born Oct. 24, 1927, the son of the late William Josiah Sanders Jr. and Inez Smith.
He was a native of Tullahoma, TN, and a graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy where he was captain of the football team. He was a resident of Murfreesboro, TN.
He was an undergraduate and attended medical school at Vanderbilt University, and trained at Vanderbilt, San Francisco, Stockholm, Sweden, and Chapel Hill, NC.
In 1977, the former Murfreesboro pediatrician was instrumental in the passage of the first mandatory child safety seat use law in the U.S., and successfully lobbied to remove the "Babes in Arms" amendment in 1981. He moved into public health in 1966, and became the Rutherford County's director and chief physician in 1969. He retired in 1991. He became a medical examiner in 1983, retired 1999.

Mrs. Wyatt was born May 14, 1922 in Jamestown, the daughter of Other P. and Nora (Hargis) Cannon.
She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Doris M. Fulton
April 13, 1931 - Jan. 10, 2005

Doris M. Fulton (Binger) passed away Jan. 10, 2006 following a long illness. A Celebration of Life service was held Jan. 16 at Central Christian Church, Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Fulton was born in Beloit, WI on April 13, 1931, the daughter of Allen and Lorena (Hook) Binger.
In the fall of 1948, she met Ralph L. Fulton at a high school dance. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in June, 1949. On Sept. 25, 1949, Doris and Ralph were united in marriage in Beloit, WI.
As Doris raised her family, she worked as the bookkeeper for 23 years for the Muller-Pinehurst Dairy Products Distributorship she and Ralph owned. Most recently she was employed at Comsat in Clearwater, FL as payroll manager, retiring in February 1996.
Doris was a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church in Fairfield Glade, TN. Prior to moving to Florida and Tennessee, she was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church in Roscoe, IL, where she was the bookkeeper for many years.
Doris is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ralph L. Fulton of Crossville; four children, Linda E. (Tom) Overfield of Ohio, Stanley J. Fulton of Tennessee, Steven A. (Susan) Fulton of Wisconsin and Lyle R. Fulton of Florida; six grandchildren, Truda Rogers, Andrew Fulton, Ryan Overfield, Tricia Olive, Keith Overfield and LucyRose Fulton; five great-grandchildren; one brother, John Binger of Ohio; and brother-in-law, Bill (Betty) Fulton of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Lorena; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Bob Osenga; and sister-in-law, Mildred Singletary.

Mr. Deck was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Cumberland County, the son of Mayford Calvin and Rilla Ann Shillings Deck.
He was self-employed as an auto body repairman and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of Isoline Baptist Church. He loved working with his hands and taking care of his church which he did as long as he was able. He also enjoyed playing chess.

Mrs. Forehand was born Aug. 6, 1912 in Waco, TX, the daughter of Frank Boyer and Fannie Mae Perry Cork.
She was a retired teletype operator with Western Union in Charlotte, NC, and a member of the Monterey Church of Christ.

Ruby Todd
Feb. 12, 1916 - Jan. 11, 2006

Ruby (Turner) Todd, 89, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 11, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 14 at Clarkrange United Methodist Church, with Bro. Ronald Whited and Sis. Kathie Bowls officiating. Burial was in Clarkrange Cemetery in Fentress County.
Mrs. Todd was born Feb. 12, 1916, in the Indian Creek community of Fentress County, the daughter of Oscar and Viola (Beaty) Turner.
The Turner family moved to Clarkrange in 1919. She attended school at Clarkrange and graduated valedictorian of the 1934 CHS graduating class, the first class at Clarkrange to graduate wearing caps and gowns.
After high school, she attended Milligan College and later Middle Tennessee State University, finishing a total of three years of college education. She returned to Clarkrange where she taught school at both Roslin and Grimsley.
With the onset of World War II, she wanted to do the patriotic thing, so she moved to Detroit, MI, to work in the factories. She lived and worked there for 20 years before returning to Clarkrange to live with her parents and return to teaching. She taught junior high math at Clarkrange High School for about 10 years. During this time, she kept books for the basketball teams and attended all their games. Mrs. Todd loved the Clarkrange community, Clarkrange High School and the Clarkrange Buffaloes.
On March 14, 1975, Ruby married Willie Todd, her childhood sweetheart. She retired from teaching in June 1975. Ruby and Willie built a home on Lake Sherwood in Fairfield Glade where they enjoyed their retirement to its fullest. They especially enjoyed spending 4-5 months every winter in Ft. Myers Beach, FL, walking on the beach and "shelling." When they grew too old to travel to Florida, they spent their winters watching sports on television. During their marriage, they traveled across the United States and visited both Canada and Mexico.
Ruby lost her beloved Willie on Nov. 23, 2003 and has spent most of her time since at her home where she enjoyed daily conversations with her sister, Bernice.
Ruby dearly loved her family. She took great pride in every accomplishment made by her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Survivors include her sister, Bernice Little; stepson, Lyle Todd of Waynesboro, PA; stepdaughter, Lila Fox of Vista, CA; nephew, Lynn Shelby Little and wife Pat of Crossville; nieces, Nancy Little McClanahan and husband Janson of Crossville and Judy Turner Jones and husband Mike of Clarkrange; great-nieces, Erin Diane Little, Erica Lynn Little and Kari Michelle Jones; and great-nephews, Matthew Janson McClanahan, Colton Lee McClanahan and Steven Turner Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Todd; and brother, Dr. Shelby O. Turner.

C. Ward Bandy
Jan. 15, 2006

C. Ward Bandy, 81, of Farragut, passed away Jan. 15, 2006. Born and raised in Crossville, he was a graduate of Cumberland County High School and was a Boy Scout. As a boy, Ward enjoyed building model airplanes and at the age of 12, he competed in and won the Southern Conference Model Airplane Competition.
He was a 1st lieutenant in the Army Air Corps/Air Force and served during World War II and again during the Korean Conflict as a multi-engine B-17 bomber and C-47 transport pilot. His duty locations included Roswell, NM; Tampa, FL; Boca Raton, FL and overseas in the Philippine Islands and Alaska.
He is a 1950 graduate of the University of Tennessee. He retired after 35 years of employment as an industrial photographer and photography department head at Martin Marietta Energy Systems in Oak Ridge, TN. He was a long time member of the Professional Photographers of America (PP of A).
Ward was the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his photography while in the Tennessee Professional Photographer's Association, the Southeastern Professional Photographic Association and the Professional Photographers Association of America. In 1980 the PP of A conferred upon him the Tennessee Service Degree and the Certified Professional Photographer Degree. Ward served several terms as a member of the PP of A governing body. He received the PP of A's coveted Photographic Craftsman Degree in Los Angeles in 1974.
In all of these organizations, his photographs repeatedly won a myriad of honors and awards for the photographs he submitted for judging by his peers in annual, state, regional, and national salon competitions. Several of the photos Ward made of atomic research and engineering subjects have appeared in scientific textbooks and encyclopedias. The Smithsonian Institution in Washington and <I>Science<I> magazine also accepted and has published several of Ward's photos.
Ward was active in the Garden Club and Photography Club at O'Connor Senior Center and was a long time member of the Concord United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Georgia McCormick Bandy of Farragut; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Susan Bandy of Colorado Springs, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Thomas and Jennifer Bandy of Knoxville; daughter, Claire Bandy of Hampton, VA; and daughter, Jana Bandy and her fiancé Mr. Kim Guinn of Johnson City; and three granddaughters, Laurel Bandy of Colorado and Jena and Lauren Bandy of Knoxville.
A memorial service was held on Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with the Rev. Bill Middleton and the Rev. Larry Trotter officiating.

Richard E. Cornelius
April 17, 1933 - Jan. 9, 2006

Richard E. "Dick" Cornelius, 72, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Jan. 9, 2006, after a brief battle with lung cancer. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Fairfield Glade Community Church, with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating.
Mr. Cornelius was born April 17, 1933 in Shinglehouse, PA, the son of Ellery and Hazel (Osbourne) Cornelius.
He attained the rank of master sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War while stationed in Colorado. During his enlistment, he met his wife, Pattye, and they were married on April 8, 1956.
He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and attended the University of Dallas and the University of New Mexico. He earned an MBA while working full time with Monarch Marketing (Pitney Bowes) from which he retired after 21 years as a marketing manager. After his retirement, he moved to Fairfield Glade and worked for Fairfield Resorts as a sales agent for a short time. He was an active member of the Rotary Club, serving as president and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
He was a resident of Fairfield Glade for 17 years and was a member of the Fairfield Glade Community Church.
He was an avid golfer and sports fan, but loved his family most of all and was know affectionately by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Poppi."
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Pattye Cornelius of Fairfield Glade; daughter, Terri Stark and her fiancé, Chad Noles of Raleigh, NC; son, Tim Cornelius of Suma, WA; granddaughter and husband, Leiya and Wes Cassady of Knoxville; grandsons, Chris and Eric Cornelius of Rowe, NM; sister, Helen Olson of Shinglehouse, PA; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Olivia Cassady of Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Cramer and Dortha Wood.

Her mother passed away when she was at a very young age and her loving uncle and aunt, Stanley and Carmen Newby, became the wonderful and devoted parents she lovingly called Mom and Dad. She was a customer service representative for Wal-Mart and a member of Believers Fellowship Church. She loved her family very much and her church was the foundation of her life.

Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 5, 1940 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Eucle and Cora Wilbanks Burgess.
She was a nurse with Wharton Nursing Home and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Big Lick. She enjoyed reading and liked to cook. She loved to sit on her front porch.

Robert Merle Warren, 81, of Fairfield Glade, formerly of Hastings, MI, passed away Jan. 8, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eric Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Warren was born Oct. 20, 1924 in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Merle Z. and Frances Holtom Warren.
He retired after 30 years as a machinist with Eaton Manufacturing in Battle Creek where he was known as "Farmer." He attended Fairfield Glade Baptist Church. He was a farmer all his life, raising Belgium horses and cattle. He loved his family dearly, along with his dog Susie.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Warren of Fairfield Glade; sons and daughter-in-law, Keith R. and Sherial Warren of Delta Junction, AK and Kevin J. Warren of Belvue, MI; daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia J. Fessenden of Fairfield Glade and Barbara J. and Mark Waterman of Battle Creek, MI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Pat Warren of Battle Creek, MI, Thomas and Jackie Warren of Battle Creek, William and Janice Warren of Delton, MI and Richard and Becky Warren of Battle Creek; sister, Darlene Allen of Missouri; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dr. Richard Brent Clow, Ph.D., of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 13, 2005 at Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta, GA.
He was born Aug. 24, 1942 in Crisfield, MD. Dr. Clow retired from the Rockdale Campus of Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, GA as Professor Emeritus of History.
He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Clow, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Clow of Fairfield Glade; daughter, Martha Clow of Atlanta, GA; mother, Dolly Miller of Havre de Grace, MD; brother, Jon L. Clow of New Milford, CT; sisters, Fern Dzielak of Wilmington, DE, Pat Whited of Havre de Grace, MD and Beverly Gordy of Salisbury, MD; and extended family.
He was the beloved husband and adored father who touched everyone he met with his warm personality and sense of humor.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, Nov. 17, in Atlanta and on Dec. 3 at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church with the Rev. Max Mayo and the Rev. Lanita Pride officiating.

Arthur H. Figge, 69, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Dec. 21, 2005. A memorial service was held Dec. 26 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Father Tom Moser officiating. Burial was in the St. Francis Columbarium.
Mr. Figge was born July 12, 1936 in Thiensville, WI, the son of Arthur and Rosa Figge.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a retired financial officer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Bernard Council 8152 and a 4th-degree knight - Fr. Gabriel Assembly 2162. He was one of the co-chairs for Oktoberfest for six years and instrumental in the design and construction of the Knights' new facility.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Figge of Fairfield Glade; son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Erica Figge of Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Burke and Renee and Tom McDaniel, all of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; and sister, Cora Brueggmann of Wisconsin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melissa McDaniel; and sisters, Ruby Gengler and Esther Wolfe.

W.I. (Dinah) Greenhill, 93, of Tupelo, passed away Jan. 5, 2006 at the Greenhouses of Traceway after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues of Tupelo, MS, with Dr. Gayle Alexander, the Rev. Otis Henderson and the Rev. Rick Ball officiating. Burial will be at Tupelo Memorial Park.
Mr. Greenhill was born May 1, 1912, in Verona, MS, the son of Joel Whitten and Fannie Helen Patterson Greenhill.
A life-long resident of Tupelo, MS, he worked at Tupelo Cotton Mill and Long's Laundry and Dry Cleaners and later owned and operated Greenhill's Grocery on Green Street. He was a very active and faithful member of First Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was an avid sports enthusiast, having played semi-pro baseball for the Tupelo Cotton Mill team in the 1930s.
He was the widower of Emma Lee Belk who passed away Feb. 9, 2002. They had been married for 68 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Dr. E. Dianne Greenhill of Memphis and Karen Greenhill Krusa and husband Dr. Charles (Chuck) Krusa and their children, Dustin Harvey Krusa and William Clayton Krusa, all of Crossville; and niece, Frances Daughtery of Tupelo, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Carolyn Sue Krute, 63, of Brandon, FL, passed away Jan. 3, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 9 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with interment in Big Lick Cemetery.
Mrs. Krute's love was her family. Spending time with her family simply talking, playing board games, shopping or going for a "bite to eat" made her happy. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and was thrilled that her granddaughter, Christina, was accepted at the University of South Florida. Always an inspiration, she worked at the University of South Florida since 1992 as an assistant in Institute Instructional Research and Practices.
Survivors include her loving mother, Katie Caruthers of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Annunciata Krute of Germany; daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Alfred Phillips and Shirley Wakefield, all of Apollo Beach; and grandchildren, Christina and Erika of Germany.

Gladys Fay Grant Marshall of Crossville passed away at Cumberland Medical Center on Dec. 17, 2005. Memorial services will be conducted at the Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Jan. 14 at 11 am.
Mrs. Marshall was born Feb. 13, 1920 in Towanda, KS, the daughter of William C. and Christina M. Grant.
As a young woman, Mrs. Marshall worked at both Beech and Cessna Aircraft, as well as in retail sales. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook, seamstress and decorator. She was of the Christian faith and very active in the First Christian Church in Sedalia, MO and El Dorado, KS.
She was united in marriage to Ira Thomas Marshall Jr. in Valparaiso, IN in 1942. They moved to Crossville in October of 1997 from El Dorado, KS.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Marshall Moffatt and Dr. Alvin L. Moffatt of Edmond, OK, Janis Marshall Holdeman and Percy Holdeman of Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, and Brenda Marshall Milbourn and Frank Milbourn of Crossville; step-daughter, Mae Jean and Rusty Jacobs of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Kimberly McCubbin of Broken Arrow, OK, Christopher Thomas and Lynda Mhoon of Oklahoma City, Steven Rex and Kirsten Milbourn of Crossville and Melissa Milbourn Cain and Scott Cain of Crossville; great-grandchildren, Marshall Thomas and Mason Grant Milbourn, Christopher Thomas Mhoon II and Daniel Walker Cain; and step-grandchildren, Mark, Marcella, Michelle and Angela Scott of Topeka, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Thomas Marshall Jr. who passed away March 29, 2000; her parents, two brothers and five sisters.

Frederick J. Brackenbury

Frederick (Fred) J. Brackenbury of Fairfield Glade passed away Dec. 25, 2005 in Fayetteville, GA. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Glade, with interment in the church columbarium.
Mr. Brackenbury was born Dec. 10, 1925 in New York City, NY, the son of Elizabeth and William Brackenbury.
He graduated from the prestigious Bronx High School of Science in January 1944 and enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. From there he went into the U.S. Air Force as a control tower operator until his discharge in May 1946. After a long career in international sales, the last 20 years of which was in industrial glass beads, he retired in June 1988.
He and his wife, Jinny, moved to Tennessee on Christmas Eve 1988, settling in Fairfield Glade. He was a member of the Art Guild of Fairfield Glade for several years, and served his church as a "money counter" for several years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Virginia (Jinny); sons, John, Michael and James; and step-children, Carole Baker, Richard Gedney and Edward Gedney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ursula; and daughter, Susan.

Maxwell M. Clendenen

Maxwell Murray Clendenen, 87, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Jan. 1, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 4 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with the Rev. May Mayo and the Rev. Lanita Pride officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mr. Clendenen was born Feb. 1, 1918 in Cherokee County, NC, the son of E.B. and Mary Texas Clendenen.
He graduated from Sale Creek High School in May 1937 and went to Washington, DC, as a 4-H delegate for Tennessee in June 1937. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from the University of Tennessee of Knoxville in 1942 and his Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1949. He began his teaching career at Gibbs School in Knox County in 1943, and served as principal from 1952 to 1977.
He married Kathryn Golden in Lakeview, GA on June 24, 1944.
He was an active member of Washington Presbyterian Church in Corryton, TN. After retiring and moving to Crossville, he became a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Clendenen of Fairfield Glade; daughter, Judy Mayberry of Crossville; grandchildren, Allyson Mayberry Lewis, Eston Mayberry and Kathryn Mayberry Freund; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Gracie and Nathan Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Clendenen; brothers, Fred Clendenen and Wade Clendenen; and sister, Maude Cox.

Pauline Harrison, 89, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 1, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, a Memorial Baptist Church, with Boyd Bailey officiating.
Mrs. Harrison was born Aug. 11, 1916 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Gaylord and Nellie Hartupee.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was an LPN. She was a minister of correspondence, loved the Lord and tried to influence as many people as possible to accept Jesus as Savior. She volunteered 14 years at Good Samaritans.
Survivors include her sons, Gaylord (Diane) Harrison of Crossville and Arthur Harrison of Dover, DE; daughters, Carolyn Sherwood of Davidson, MI and Sally Brightman of Crossville; foster son, Luke Parker of Rochester Hills, MI; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen C. Harrison; children, Alice, Charles and Lynn; brother, Robert Hartupee; and sister, Martha Barker.

Robert N. Hood

Robert Nelson "Bob" Hood, 66, of Kingsport, passed away Dec. 23, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 26 from the Kingsport chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, with Bro. Buford Blankenbecier and Pastor Ron Ramsey officiating. Graveside services were held Dec. 27 in the Mayland Cemetery in Crossville.
Mr. Hood was born in Crossville and had lived in Kingsport since 1972. He graduated from the Southern Academy of Clinical Technology in Nashville with a degree in medical technology and was employed as a medical technologist for 35 years.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Dewey Grizzle of Kingsport and Andrea and Robert Stanley of Church Hill; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Evelyn Louise Hood of Kingsport and Robert "Bobby" and Kelly Hood of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, Jessi, Ashley, Clayton, Abby, Matthew, Jacob and Sam; sister and brother-in-law, George Ann and Doyle Barnwell of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer C. and Mamie Lou Robinson Hood of Crossville; first wife, Sally J. Murray Hood (mother of their children); second wife, Shannon R. Banks; and sister, Patsy Ruth Ward of Crossville.
Pallbearers were David Hood, Bobby Hood, Robert Stanley, Dewey Grizzle, Andrew Barnwell and Derek Gerat.

Evelyn Elaine Richardson, 76, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 10, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 13 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Roland Smith officiating. Burial was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Richardson was born Nov. 16, 1929 in Monroe, LA, the daughter of James and Helen Smith.
She was a graduate of Ouachita High School in Monroe and a homemaker. She was a very special daughter, wife, mom, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Allen Davis of Monroe, LA and Teresa "Tess" Granberry of Crossville; grandchildren, Brian Davis of Galveston, TX, Lynette Davis of West Monroe, LA and Dalton Granberry of Crossville; three nieces and one nephew.

Ollie Pearl Tilley, 83, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 29, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 3 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ryan Overfelt officiating. Michael Settles performed "Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Burial was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Tilley was born Nov. 28, 1922 in McComas, WV, the daughter of Dewey Semons and Lena Turner Semons.
She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and an employee of Motorola. She loved to dance.
Survivors include her daughters, Pricilla Roe of Mesa, AZ, Carolyn Senine and Jo Ann Einbinder of Des Plains, IL; grandchildren, Kimberly Tagliere, Michele Sniett, Joy Carman and Lisa O'Boyle; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Walters of Florida, Danford Settles and Pat Gilbert of Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cebert Tilley.
Pallbearers were Shawn Raiford, Delany Tilley, Nathan Corbett, Frank Senine, Michael Settles, Junior Wyatt and Kristin Tagliere.

Grace Carol Coleman, 65, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 27, 2005. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Coleman was born June 10, 1940 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of William and Catherine Kripendorf Herpick.
She was a graduate of Burnell Business College and had worked several years as a secretary. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She spent the last few years of her life taking care of children, which was a joy that she shared with her husband. She was loving and devoted and the children she cared for loved her very much in return. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and reading. She also loved to collect snow village houses.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Coleman of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Lori Coleman of Franklin, Wayne and Tammy Coleman of Smyrna and Joe Coleman; daughter, Katherine Coleman of Crossville; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ruth Herpick of Roanoke, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Hank Dillenkofer of Florida; and grandchildren, Ronald Coleman, Brenna Coleman and Maxwell Coleman.

Vernell Gill

Vernell Gill, 69, of the Daysville community of Rockwood, passed away Dec. 30, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 1, 2006, from the chapel of Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, with the Rev. Pete Scarbrough and the Rev. Hascue Carter officiating. Graveside services and interment were conducted Jan. 2 at the Daysville Cemetery in Rockwood.
Mrs. Gill was born July 28, 1936 in Daysville, TN, the daughter of John and Bessie Lloyd.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a register for the Cumberland County Election Commission and very active in the Democratic Party for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Graham Gill of Rockwood; sons and daughter-in-law, Adrian Gill of Rockwood, Wayne and Linda Gill of Westel and Michael Gill of Rockwood; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Monte Newport of Spring City; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Roscoe and Linda Lloyd of Athens.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Gary W. Hamlett Sr.
Dec. 25, 2005

Gary Walter Hamlett Sr., 66, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Christmas morning after a valiant fight with colon and bone cancer. As a young man, Mr. Hamlett was a paperboy for the Orlando Sentinel and won two awards as paperboy of the year. As owner of Hamlett and Associates advertising firm, he was awarded a National Print Award from Advertising Age, for his promotion of Silver Sands development.
From 1975 until his retirement due to his cancer in 2004, he was an associate of CDI Corporation ending his career as corporate senior vice president in charge of Sales and Marketing. Clients included Martin-Marietta, Pratt and Whitney, Westinghouse, and IBM Corporations.
He was a member of the Winter Park United Methodist Church, Endowment Life member of NRA, and the Coastal Conservation Association.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pattsy (Buchanan) Hamlett; daughters, Lynne (Winton III) Wilks, Lisa (Dr. Kevin) Eames and Karen Hamlett; son, Gary W. (Denise) Hamlett Jr.; and nine grandchildren. Local family include Eugene and Barbara (Buchanan) Parsons, Hope and John Schubert, and Catherine Parsons.
The funeral was held at the Winter Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Price Jr. and the Rev. Dr. Bob Bushong presiding. Burial was at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park.
Special thanks to Central Baptist Church of Crossville for the continued prayers and encouraging prayer letters for Gary and Pattsy throughout these difficult years.

Mae Belle (Logan) Pyles, 95, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 27, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 29 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Vern Daugherty and Bro. Benji Persinger officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Pyles was born Aug. 9, 1910 in Pickett County, the daughter of Ky and Gertie (Garrett) Logan.
She was a seamstress in her home and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Arlean Wyatt and Billie Jean Wilson of Crossville; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hiram Pyles; daughter, Anna Kay Martin; and sons, Kermit Pyles and Mack Pyles.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Ricky Keyes, Dale Wilson, Jimmy Martin, Keith Martin, Shae Keyes and Leon Woody.

Mr. Bartlett was born Jan. 2, 1910 in Gustavus Township, OH, the son of Louis and Flossie Bell (March) Bartlett.
He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Walter L. and Joyce Bartlett of Conneaut, OH, Emery F. and Dolores Bartlett of Strongsville, OH, Carroll V. Bartlett of Roanoke, VA and Albert "Bud" and Kathleen Evans of Fairfield Glade; daughter, Eileen O'Barsky of Crossville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

JR Bilbrey, 66, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 28, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 31 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home of Monterey, with the Rev. Bobby Floyd officiating. Burial was in the Campground Cemetery in Clarkrange.
Mr. Bilbrey was born Oct. 1, 1939 in Overton County, the son of Alastus and Avie Phillips Bilbrey.
He was a general laborer.
Survivors include his sisters, Sarah Phillips of Cookeville, Lora Hammersly of Tampa, FL and Rosa Stoner of Mesa, AZ; and half-sisters, Danzie Baldwin of Monterey, Livvie McCowan of Muncie and Panzie McCowan of Tamp, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Haris, Clada and Ernal Lee Bilbrey; sisters, Artie Lee and Phillis Mary Lou; and half-sister, Lennie Norrod.
