Lewis George Carpenter, 71,
of Lake Tansi, passed away Dec. 29, 2003.
Mr. Carpenter was born Jan. 3, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI, the
son of Francis Carpenter and Mildred Robinson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and moved to Tennessee in 1989
after retiring from the Michigan school system where he was employed
for 30 years as a school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Carpenter; sons and daughter-in-law,
Richard and Steffiney Carpenter of Boyne City, MI and David Carpenter
of Flint, MI; daughters and sons-in-laws, Jonalee and Joseph
Slackta of Burton, MI and Kristine and John Becker of Chicago,
IL; grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Slackta, and Richy, Brandy
and Anna Carpenter; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Karen
Carpenter of Lake Tansi; and aunt, Rosemond Bernard of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Carpenter and
Mildred Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland

Johnnie Clark Holloway, 84, of Crab Orchard, passed away Dec.
20, 2003. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 22 from the chapel
of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Holloway was born Sept. 12, 1919 in Cumberland County, the
son of Robert Brown and Clara Reed Holloway.
He was a retired self-employed carpenter and a Master Mason with
Hill City Lodge #603.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Paul J. and Vicky
Holloway of Chattanooga; niece, Sammy Jo Nail; grandchildren,
Johnnie Holloway, April Holloway and Brandy Holloway; three great-grandchildren;
and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Nannie Holloway; son, George C. Holloway; brothers, Woodrow Holloway
and Robert Brown Holloway; and sisters, Mary Morris and Leona
Welchance.

Mrs. Idema is survived by her husband, Norman Idema; sons and
daughter-in-law, Randall of Pikeville, Kendall and Marianne of

Lois Isabel Rankhorn Wood, 78, of Walling, passed away Dec. 27,
2003. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 from
the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta. Funeral services
will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, from the chapel of
Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Bro.
Don Howard will officiate.
Mrs. Wood was born April 13, 1925 in White County, the daughter
of James William Rankhorn and Nancy Elizabeth Pollard Rankhorn.
She retired from GTE after 38 years and attended and graduated
from Pleasant Hill Academy in 1944.
She is survived by her brother, Winfred Rankhorn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Elbert Wood; sisters, Naomi Wilson and Rowena Flint;
and brothers, Orvalee Rankhorn, Rosenski Rankhorn, Warren Rankhorn
and Leatus Rankhorn.

Crossville, passed away Dec. 24, 2003. Funeral services were
conducted Dec. 26 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with

officiated.
Mr. Hall was born June 13, 1924 in Cumberland County, the son
of Albert and Verdie Croft Hall.
He was a printer and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church.
He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Joel
O'Connor of Nashville; sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Cheryl
Hall of Crossville and Jeff and Brenda Hall of Crossville; seven
grandchildren; sisters, Christine Thompson and Ella Wilson of
Crossville; and brother, Oliver Hall of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Brewer Hall; brothers,
Ralph and Roy Hall; and sister, Gladys Coxen.

Mrs. Hall was born Oct. 19, 1918 in Fentress County, TN, the
daughter of Luke and Florence Ashburn Farr.

He was born July 20, 1957 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Robert
E. Jones and Joyce Leach Jones.
He was a mechanic and served in the U.S. Army from 1976-1978.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Partin Jones of Crossville;
daughters, Jennifer Jones of Crossville and Triena and Nina Jones
of Ohio; sons, Jake and Ricky Jones of Crossville; father, Robert
Jones of N. Ridgeville, OH; brother, Robert W. Jones of Ohio;

Mrs. Mazak was born Oct. 4, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Helen
(Stettler) Sandlin.

special niece, Nellie Jo Singer, the daughter of Roy and Georgia

TN; sister-in-law, Maxine Lindenmuth; cousins, Virginia and Walter

first husband, Joseph Stine; and by her second husband of 37

Mrs. Pigg was born Jan. 1, 1925 in Harriman, TN, the daughter

Mr. Winton was born March 29, 1957 in Bayonne, NJ, the son of
Eugene James Winton and Mary Winton.
He was a self-employed contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Winton; sons, Christopher
Riley Winton and Mark Winton; daughter, Felicia Lynn Winton;
mother, Mary Winton; brother, Gregory Winton of Atlanta, GA;

Chester Lawrence Caruthers,
59, of Athens, TN, has passed away. Graveside funeral services
were held with full military honors at McMinn Memory Gardens,
with the Rev. Pete Mullins and the Rev. Billy Shawn Brock officiating.
Mr. Caruthers was a native of Crossville and was the son of the
late Robert L. Caruthers.
He was a member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church. He was a graduate
of Tennessee Technological University of Cookeville and was an
accountant. He had served time in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Chandler Caruthers of Athens;
mother, Gladys Dixon Caruthers of Crossville; and brother and
sister-in-law, Dewayne and Carol Caruthers of Crossville.

Thomas Monroe Helton, 99, of Oakdale, passed away Dec. 21, 2003.
Graveside services and interment were conducted Dec. 23 from
the Daysville Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Copeland officiating.
Mr. Helton was a member of the Old Mt. Pisgah Church and a retired
iron worker with Tennessee Products Corp. in Rockwood. He was
also a carpenter.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Jean Helton and
Tom Powers of Oakdale and Leatha Ann Helton of Oakdale; son and
daughter-in-law, Noel R. and Margaret Helton of Rockwood; grandchildren,
Gail Powers Helton, Janice Powers Eddlemon, Stephen Powers, Bradley
Powers, Cindy Powers Bunch, Hope Helton Hughes and Evon Helton
Wage; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Helton; and son,

Charles Allen Mullins, 63, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 21,
2003. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday,
Dec. 27 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial
in Pomona Cemetery. The Rev. Cliff Ingram and the Rev. Phillip
Malone will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday,
Dec. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home.
Mr. Mullins was born June 23, 1940 in Wise, VA, the son of Cecil
and Eunice Mae Short Mullins.
He was a horticulturist for the UT Experimental Farm and was
a professor of horticulture at the University of Tennessee for
37 years. He was a member of the Taylor's Chapel Methodist Church
and a heart transplant recipient for 17 years. He was also a
Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ann Eldridge Mullins of Crossville;
sons, Tony Mullins of Atlanta, GA and Brian Mullins of Crossville;
grandchildren, Heather, Chris and Daniel; and sister, Betty Sandoval
of Boise, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mae Mullins.
Pallbearers will be John Loy, Paul Hopkins, Gerald Boggs, Jeremy
Grant, Dennis Heath and Charles Dixon.

Kenneth Leo Pugh, 63, of Cambridge City, IN, formerly of Crossville,
passed away Dec. 10, 2003. Funeral services were conducted Dec.
12 at Western Avenue Baptist Church in Connersville, IN, with
Dr. David Pope, pastor of Western Avenue Baptist Church, officiating.
Mr. Pugh was born Dec. 8, 1940 in Crab Orchard, TN, the son of
Floyd and Lela Barnwell Pugh.
He had lived in Cambridge City since 1959. He attended Western
Avenue Baptist Church and volunteered in the office. He retired
from Roots Blower Company in 2000 after 22 years. He had previously
been employed for 11 years with Eaton Gear Works in Richmond
and had worked prior to that at Tri High School near New Castle.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Dickey Pugh, whom he married
May 12, 1972 in Connersville; daughters and sons-in-law, Melody
and Jerry Moore of Richmond, IN and LaDonna and David Miller
of New Whiteland, IN; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Pugh of
Cambridge City and Michael and Susan Pugh of Westmoreland, TN;
brothers, Mitchell Pugh and Monroe Pugh, both of Milton, IN.

Mrs. Keck was born March 6, 1924 in Cumberland County, the daughter
of Porter William Bell and Lilly Mae Tucker Bell.
She was a seamstress and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her niece, Faye McReynolds of Pikeville; and
other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
brothers, Homer, Robert and Ellis Bell; and sisters, Zenobia

The Rev. Buford James "Jim" Kelley, 74, of Crossville,
passed away Dec. 16, 2003. Memorial services will be held at
1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home.
Pastor Steve Kelley will be officiating. Burial will be in Big
Lick Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive
friends from noon until 1 p.m. (one hour prior to the service)
at Hood Funeral Home.
The Rev. Kelley was born Jan. 8, 1929 in Minor Hill, TN, the
son of Joseph and Lizzie Thorn Kelley.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a retired United
Methodist pastor. While serving in the Air Force, he was a Tech
Sgt. in air traffic and radar operations. He was also a member
of the Tennessee Conference of United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Kelley of Crossville; sons and
daughters-in-law, Steve and Claudia Kelley of Columbia, TN and
Buford Jr. and Margareta Kelley of San Antonio, TX; daughter
and special friend, Paula Wyatt and Mike Collins of Bell Buckle,
TN; sister, Christine Kimbrough of Minor Hill, TN; eight grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thompson was born Feb. 22, 1929 in Monterey, TN, the son
of Clyde and Blanche Matthews Thompson.
He was a retired rock cutter.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Morris Thompson; sons, Howard
Thompson Jr. of White Pine, TN and Harold Thompson of Crossville;
daughters, Patsy Roysdon, Carol Roysdon and Margaret Christmas,
all of Crossville; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Robert "Bob" Leo Brunswick,
71, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 12, 2003. Funeral services

Mr. Brunswick was born July 17, 1932 in Elgin, IL, the son of
William and Susan Parsons Brunswick.
He was a quality control engineer in medical technology and was
a member of the First Congregational Church. He served in the
U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Master Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Katharine Brunswick of Crossville;
sons and daughter-in-law, David Brunswick of Savannah, GA and
Brain and Angie Brunswick of Crossville; grandson, Travis Hall
of Crossville; and brother, Charles Brunswick of Delavan, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Susan Brunswick.
Pallbearers were Ronald Kerley, Brian Brunswick, David Brunswick,
Travis Hall, Kenneth Soncrant and Joey Stahl.

Mrs. Burgess was born June 9, 1904 in White County, TN, the daughter
of James Harrison Bradley and Margaret Elizabeth Houlett Bradley.
She was a school teacher and member of the Calvary Presbyterian
Church of Big Lick.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Bradley of Crossville; daughter,
Carol Barker of Nashville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
and sister, Nellie Rhea of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Oliver Estille Burgess; and son, Billy Lee Burgess.

Ms. Harrison was born Nov. 18, 1943 in Crossville, the daughter
of Hiram and Ruth Harrison.

Mr. Meadows was born May 7, 1938 in Crossville, the son of John
and Mary Ellen Meadows.

Mrs. McHood was born Oct. 16, 1907 in Smith County, TN, the daughter
of Allen Carey and Nellie Timberlake Winfree.
She was a homemaker and charter member of the First Baptist Church
of Baxter. She was an active Sunday school teacher for several
years and was a member of the WMU. She taught several years in
local schools, was a hospital volunteer and a Home Demonstration
Club member.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Virginia McHood
and Doris and Glen Stewart, all of Baxter; son and daughter-in-law,
T.J. and Martha McHood of Cookeville; brother, Victor Winfree
of Carthage; sister, Hattie Ferrell Hodges of Lebanon; grandchildren,
Amy and Jimmy Boniol of Crossville, and Jeff and Tim McHood,
both of Cookeville; several step-grandchildren; and a host of
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Thurman McHood; sons, Leonard (Jack) and Frank (Bud)

Ethel Cozetta Ezell, 85, of
Port Angeles, WA, passed away Dec. 5, 2003. At her request, no
services were held. Interment will be at Washington Memorial
Park in Seattle.
Mrs. Ezell was born April 27, 1918 in Daysville, TN, the daughter
of Samuel Columbus and Nancy Armeldia (Mallicote) Golliher, and
the granddaughter of James and Sylvia (Baird) Mallicote and Henry
and Marinda (Maupin) Golliher.
She married Ralph Ezell on Oct. 23, 1940 and moved to North Carolina
while Ralph served in the Navy during World War II. She worked
for Chrysler Corporation in Michigan and as a candy dipper for
Patrick's Candy in Eureka, CA and Dilettante Candy in Seattle,
WA. She was a member of the Federal Way Baptist Church and active
in the Federal Way Senior Center before moving to Port Angeles.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Cletis
Dietz; sister, Bertie Garniet; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ezell who passed
away Jan. 20, 1974; brothers, Ira, Paul, Willard and Arthur Golliher;
and sisters, Edna Davis, Alice Honeycutt, Martha Carter, Lucinda
Golliher, Macel Hamby and Jennie Golliher.

George Wesley (Wes) Farah, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Dec.
10, 2003. A private family service was held Dec. 13. A memorial
service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 20 at Fairfield Glade United
Methodist Church. The Rev. Max Mayo and the Rev. Lanita Pride
will officiate.
Mr. Farah was born Sept. 4, 1935 in Quincy, MA, one of seven
children of Charles and Mildred Farah.
He was a 1957 graduate of Wheaton College an served as a captain,
U.S. Army Aviation, 3rd Armored Division. He was the administrator
of Wheaton Medical Clinic for 25 years before retiring to Fairfield
Glade in 1993. He was an avid golfer and founder of the Good
Ol' Boys Golf Club, a horseback riding enthusiast, an avid reader
and a cooking buff.
He was a member of the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.
He was on the founding board of Cumberland Habitat for Humanity
and was current president of the same.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy Wilcox Farah, whom
he married in May 1958; five dearly beloved children, Kirklin
Wesley Farah of Glenarm, IL, Wendy Sue Farah of Vashon Island,
WA, Judy Lynn Barg of Wheaton, IL, Jill Corinne Olund of Hendersonville,
TN and Andrew Gordon Farah of West Chicago, IL; as well as 14
adored grandchildren.
Wes Farah will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Mrs. Raby was born July 11, 1922 in Sparta, TN, the daughter

She lived the last 10 years in Rossville, GA, but her heart always
yearned for her home in the Homesteads. She worked as a delivery
room nurse in Uplands Community Medical Center before retiring
in 1985 after nearly 30 years of service. She was a long-time
member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church in Crossville.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Clinton Raby of Knoxville; daughter,
Bobbie Gunter of Rossville, GA; grandchildren, Kristye (Kent)
of Knoxville, Brad of Columbus, OH, Brian of Raleigh, NC, Greg
of Rossville, GA, Barry of Ringgold, GA and Pam of Ann Arbor,

Mr. Meadows was born Aug. 17, 1931 in Cumberland County, the

Miss Brady was born Sept. 15, 1916 in Cumberland County, the
daughter of Charles Smith Brady Jr. and Mabel Grace Andrews Brady.
She was a secretary and agent for Shaffer Ins. She was of the

Warren Lowell Clark, 82, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 29,
2003. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 2 from the chapel

final ride on the fire engine was to be laid to rest at Big Lick
Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was born April 29, 1921 in Homesdale, PA, the son of
Gordon and Hellen MacGargle Clark.
He was a carpenter, member of the Cumberland Worship Center and
charter member of the Cumberland County Fire Department. He served
in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple
Heart.

Mr. Mackie was born May 10, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of

He was a member of Hidden in Christ Fellowship and served as
deacon. He worked with the railroad and in insurance sales. He
served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous
and celebrated 22 years of sobriety Nov. 11, 2003.

Raymond "Jim" Otto, 97, of Pleasant Hill, died Dec.
1. He was born in Aurora, NE, and moved to the Uplands Retirement
Village on his 92nd birthday.
He attended Nebraska Wesleyan College and the University of Nebraska
where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. After farming for 10
years in Nebraska he and his family moved to Madison, WI where
he worked in several managerial positions, and had a long career
as the manager of the Madison Fuel Oil Company.
Throughout his life he was active in scouting, earning the Silver
Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts. He was a lifelong Rotarian,
earning his 50-year pin many years ago. He served on the boards
of the United Way in Madison and the Brandenberg Foundation.
When he moved to Tennessee, he joined the Plateau Writers group,
and wrote many stories about his childhood on the farm in Nebraska.
He was a member of the Friends of the Art Circle Library, the
Cumberland County Film Society, Inc. and the Pleasant Hill Community
Church.
Mr. Otto was predeceased by his wife, Jean, and is survived by
his three children, all of Crossville, Judy (Art) Wojta, Margie
(Dick) Buxbaum and Sam (Gloria) Otto and many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday,
Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Community Church.

Dr. Samuel D. Adkerson, 64,
of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 30, 2003. Funeral services
were conducted Dec. 3 from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home
in Lebanon, TN, with interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Dennis McGuire, Brother Danny Sellars and Brother Gene Burgess
served as officiants.
While in the Army, Dr. Adkerson was stationed in Fairbanks, AK.
After his military service, he became an educator and coach at
Wilson County High and also taught in Illinois. Dr. Adkerson
became very active in the Church of God ministry and served in
many ways: youth and evangelism director in Hawaii for two years,
state evangelist in Tennessee for two years, state youth and
evangelism director in the southern region of California for
two years and the northern region of California for four years.
He served as minister of the Pompano Beach Church of God, the
Daisy Church of God, the Broadmoor Church of God, as well as
other churches, and was a member of the Church of God Board of
Insurance.
Dr. Adkerson had been retired for the last five years but was
an active member of the Church of God State of Tennessee Missions
Board. During his career, Dr. Adkerson preached 4,174 services
and experiences 17 mission trips to South America. Under his
ministry, numerous believers were led to Christ.
Survivors include he devoted wife and best friend of 42 years,
Evon Sellars Adkerson; special daughter, Courtney; brothers,
James O. (Bobbie) Adkerson of Chattanooga and Herman (Margaret)
Adkerson of Illinois; sister, Martha Alice Chavez of Murfreesboro;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Sara Pauline
Hale Adkerson; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Phillips.

Kent Adkerson, Billy Sellars, Eddie Sellars, Ronnie Sellars,

J.D. Wix, 67, passed away Nov. 9, 2003 at the Veteran's Hospital
in Louisville, KY. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday,
Nov. 12, 2003 in Westmoreland, TN, with Jerry Wix officiating.
Burial was in Shrum Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Wix was born March 2, 1936 in Lafayette, TN.
He had resided in Louisville, KY since the mid-1990s where he
also spent much of his childhood. He lived in Chicago, IL for
30 years prior to making his home in Louisville.
Mr. Wix also lived in Crossville for a period of time when he
attended Oaklawn Baptist Church on Genesis Road. There he met
his wife, Betty Jane Scott. They married in April 1955.
He also lived on the island of Guam for a number of years serving
in the U.S. Marine Corps for 14 years. He served our country
in Korea during the Korean War.
He entered into civilian life after receiving an honorable discharge
from the Marine Corps.
The United States flag was presented during the burial services
to his daughters, Martha Jane Fish, Judith Michelle Cope and
Joyce Gail Stone, all of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his son, James David Wix; father,
Ernie Wix; brothers, Robert Wix and Mike Wix; and sister, Mary

City, TN from 2-4 p.m. The church is located across from Lenoir
City High School.
Mr. Breazeale was a member and elder of the Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Lenoir City. He was retired from the U.S. Army after
27 happy years, received a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee,
retired from the University of Tennessee as the associate director
of Financial Aid and a member of the American Legion. He worked
at Roane State Community College. His hobbies and interests included
gardening and reading.
He grew up in the Homestead community in Crossville.

Samantha Leeann Miller, 16, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 20,
2003. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 24 from the chapel
of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Pomona Cemetery. Bro.
Robert Canant officiated.
Samantha was born May 18, 1987 in Cumberland County, the daughter
of David Allen Miller and Belinda Davis Miller.
She was a student and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her parents, David and Belinda Miller of Crossville;
sisters, Amy Miller of New Jersey and Latoya Miller of California;
brother, Daniel Miller of Crossville; grandmother, Lorene Davis
of Andalusia, AL; special recognition to her uncle and aunt,
Don and Patricia Fisher and uncle, Paul Miller of Crossville;
and many family and friends.
Samantha's smile brought happiness everywhere. She will be very
sorely missed by all who knew her. "God bless her sweet
soul."
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Allen and Roberta
Miller and Rex Davis.

Gordon E. Morgan, 63, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away Nov. 18,
2003. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 21 from the chapel
of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery.

Mr. Morgan was born May 15, 1940 in Crossville, the son of Harold
and Mary Swicegood Morgan.
He was a security guard for the government and of the Baptist
faith. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Survivors include his aunt, Pauline Castleman of Crossville;
uncle, J.L. Morgan of Hermitage, TN; cousin, R. David Burgess
of Layton, UT; a host of cousins; and two very dear friends,
Jessie and Betty Jo Hall of Miamisburg, OH.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Morgan, Rick Morgan, R. David Burgess,
Andrew Ramsey, Bryson Johnson and Ryan Overfelt.

Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Seals Cemetery in Bledsoe

Mrs. Nichols was born Dec. 17, 1935 in Cumberland County.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Claude Norman Nichols of Pikeville;
daughters, Joyce Bolin of Pikeville, Donna VanWinkle, Teresa
Troglin and Kathy Wilson, all of Crossville; 10 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; brother, Alvie Brewer of Elyria, OH;
and sister, Wynette Shrum of Crossville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude William Nichols;
mother, Lima Brewer; father and stepmother, Elmer and Carmen
Brewer; sisters, Daisy Cody, Mary Burgess and Mozelle Hicks;
and brothers, J.L. Brewer and L.B. Brewer.
Pallbearers were Tommy Vanwinkle, Abe Wilson, David Troglin,
Chad Davis, Josh Davis and Ed Wilson.

Cecil "Ralph" Wyatt, 65, of Crossville, passed away
Nov. 22, 2003. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 25 from the
chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory
Gardens. Davis Babcock officiated, with special music by Deloy
Brown and Sybil Brown.
Mr. Wyatt was born March 31, 1938 in Cumberland County, the son
of Andrew Jackson and Lenious Burnett Wyatt.
He was a purchasing agent for Tennessee Wholesalers and a member
of the Christian Church of the Cumberlands. He was an avid fisherman
and loved to hunt and play golf.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Wyatt; mother, Lenious Wyatt;
daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Chris Smith and Beth Wyatt
and Scott Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Martha Wyatt;
sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Danny Vandever; grandchildren,
Andrew Smith, Thomas Smith and Bailey Davis, all of Crossville;
and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Rodney Brown, Jim Petty, Alan Wyatt, Thomas
Smith, Charles Loveday and Terry Burnett.
