Mary Amanda Bailey, 84, of Crossville,
passed away March 21, 2000, in WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation
Center. Funeral services were conducted on March 23 from the
chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Woody Cemetery.
Bro. Thomas Hale officiated.
Mrs. Bailey was born on Sept. 14, 1915 in Cumberland County,
the daughter of Abner and Mary Ellen Barnwell Norris.
She had been a nurse's aide at Cumberland Medical Center, and
she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons, Arnold Norris of Sparta, and Burt
Norris of Oak Ridge; daughter, Etta Mae Adams of Columbus, OH;
sister, Nora Hubbard, and brother, Raymond Norris, both of Crossville;
11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Bailey; brother,
Luther Norris; and sisters, Ollie Norris, Della Wyatt, Violet
Bowman and Mattie Thomas.
Pallbearers were Hank Lee, Anthony Luttrell, Darrell Walker,
Norman Walker, Carl Norris and Vernon Carey.

GUY MONDAY HENSON
Guy Monday Henson, 73, of Crossville,
passed away March 23, 2000 at his home. Funeral services were
conducted March 25 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with
the Rev. David Brown officiating, assisted by the Rev. Brian
Branam. Special music was provided by David Brown. The U.S. Army
Honor Guard, B Co. 2-502D infantry regiment of Fort Campbell,
KY, served as pallbearers, and provided the military honors for
presentation of the flag and 21-gun salute at Green Acres Memory
Gardens.
Mr. Henson was born on Aug. 9, 1926 in Printess, NC, the son
of Carl and Gussie Ledford Henson.
He was retired from the military, having served in U.S. Army.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Etelka Garner Henson of Crossville;
daughters, Sue Campbell of Monroe, NC, Karen Henson of Maryville,
TN, and Lisa Kohler of Nashville, TN; son, Guy Henson of Virginia
Beach, VA; sisters, Betty Sanders of Franklin, NC, and Bobbie
Moses of Dallas, TX; brothers, Doyle Henson of Hayesville, NC,
and Don Henson of Oak Hill, OH; and two grandchildren, Chris
Henson of Virginia Beach, and Mara Henson of San Francisco, CA.

Clyde Manning, 70, of Crossville,
passed away March 23, 2000 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center
in Nashville, TN. Funeral services were conducted March 26 from

Mr. Manning was born on Oct. 26, 1929 in Cumberland County, the
son of Leroy Dennis and Hattie Hale Manning.
He was a mechanic, and he was of the Protestant faith.

daughter, Carolyn Owens, and sons, Dennis, Bruce and Brian Manning,
all of Crossville; brothers, Floyd, Blaine and Cleed Manning,

He was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Manning.

Ruby Lucille Reed, 80, of Crab
Orchard, passed away March 23, 2000 in Cumberland Medical Center.

officiating. Graveside services were held March 26 at Haley's
Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed was born on April 28, 1919 in Ozone, TN, the daughter
of Henry Columbus Sturges Sr. and his wife Grace Peters Sturges.
She was a clerk, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sister, Margie Day of North Port, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bascum (Punch)
Reed; brother, H.C. Sturges Jr.; and sisters, Helen Holloway,
Stella Mae Sturges and Christine Sturges.

BARBARA FRIEND SWILLING
Barbara Friend Swilling, 78,
of Fairfield Glade, passed away March 25, 2000. Memorial services
will be held at 1 p.m. on April 3 at Fairfield Glade United Methodist
Church. Wayne Benson will officiate.
Mrs. Swilling was born on Jan. 18, 1922 in Canebeds, AZ, the
daughter of Newton and Helen McKinley Friend.
She was a homemaker and a graduate of the University of California.
She was a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church,
Ladies Club and Neighbors and Newcomers. Before moving to Fairfield
Glade in January 1994, Mrs. Swilling lived for 19 years in Naperville,
IL, where she was active in various groups. Among them were the
Couples Gourmet, Ladies Gourmet, Naperville Heritage Society
and Antique Show, a Ladies Quilting Group, a long-lasting ladies
bridge group, the Nine Hole Ladies League at Springbook Golf
Course and was very active in forming a quilting group for decorative
pillows and also the Antique Study Group.
Survivors include her husband, George Harrison Swilling of Fairfield
Glade; daughter, Susan Swilling Craft of Memphis, TN; sons, Thomas
Jeffrey Swilling of Gastonia, NC, and Michael Randolph Swilling
of Kirkland, WA, and five grandchildren.

She was born in Rensselaer, IN, the daughter of the late Haskell
and Deliann Clouse Randolph.
She was a former secretary at the University of Kentucky, dean's
office. She was a member of the North Lexington Church of Christ.

John L. and Becky Emery of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Nina Dragoo

Mr. Bohannon was born Jan. 1, 1909 in White County, the son of

United Methodist Church.

James L. Brewer, 68, of Elyria,
OH, passed away March 16, 2000, at the Cleveland Clinic. Funeral

Mr. Brewer was born Jan. 7, 1932 in Crossville, and lived in
Elyria for 45 years.
He was a welder at the former Abex Corp. in Elyria for 36 years,
and he retired in 1997. He was a member of the East Broad St.
Church of Christ in Elyria, and he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Nina "Joyce"
Sapp Brewer; sons, Gary Brewer and Randal Brewer, both of Elyria;
sisters, Wynette Shrum and Myrtle Nichols, both of Crossville;
brother, Alvah Brewer of Elyria; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Daisey Cody, Mary Burgess
and Nozelle Hicks; and a brother, L.B. Brewer.

Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 8, 1913 in Cumberland County, the daughter
of Hugh L. and Alberta Shillings Woody.
She was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include six sons, Bennie, Ed, Frank, Tommy and Donald
Brown, all of Crossville, and Clenice Brown Jr., in the U.S.
Army; five daughters, Lou Ann Parsons, Linda Faye Brown, Bonnie
Green and Betty Sherrill, all of Crossville, and Stacy Pugh of
Montgomery, TX; brother, Hugh L. Woody Jr., and sister, Elsie
Barnwell, both of Crossville; 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alta Brown, two

James R. Hall Jr., 71, of Elyria,
OH, passed away March 17, 2000, at home. Funeral services will
be held today at Busch Curtis Scheuffler Family Chapel in Elyria,
with interment at Brookdale Cemetery. Pastor Michael Foresha
of East Broad St. Church of Christ in Elyria will officiate.
VFW Post No. 1079 will perform military honors.
Mr. Hall was born in 1928 in Crossville. He served in the U.S.
Army from 1946-Õ51 during the Korean War. He retired in
1981 from the Ford Motor Co. in Avon Lake, where he worked in
the maintenance department since 1973. Prior to working in Avon
Lake, he worked at the Lorain Plant for many years. He was a
charter member of the East Broad St. Church of Christ in Elyria,
and the UAW Local No. 2000. He was a humorist who enjoyed making
others laugh, and he enjoyed woodworking, doing hook rugs and
was an avid blood donor for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Eunice A. Beatty Hall;
daughters, Pamela D. Miles and Kimberly G. Schoeffel Williams,
both of Elyria, and Sandra L. Ledbetter of Jamestown, TN; his
mother, Mrs. Naomi Houston Hall of Crossville; sister, Lucille
Hassler of Crossville; and six grandchildren, Haskell and Missy
Ledbetter, Vicky Schoeffel, Bethany Schoeffel, Brian Miles and
Mathew Williams.
He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Hall Sr.

Mrs. Phillips was born on Feb. 6, 1920, in Wilder, TN, the daughter

Gail Reynolds of Morganville, KY, and Mary Phillips of Cookeville,

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hershell Clement Bright

Mrs. Tidwell was born on March 8, 1939 in Adrian. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Larry Tidwell of Pikeville;
three sons, Kerry Tidwell of Portland, OR, Kevin Tidwell of Marion,
IN, and Keith Tidwell of Pikeville; two daughters, Kimberly Ford
of Clinton, MI, and Kelly Salow of Tecumseh, MI; two sisters,
Marianne Wilcheer of Manitou Beach, MI, and Sharron McKimmy of
Cement City, MI; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marion Cooper,
and two brothers, Glenn Cooper and William Cooper.

Janris Ann Brown, 60, passed
away March 8, 2000 at Pleasant Hill. Graveside services were
conducted by the Rev. Joseph Frazier on March 11, at Forest Lawn
Cemetery in Nashville.
She was born Nov. 27, 1939 in Davidson County, the daughter of
Buren B. and Pauline Murphree Brown of Madison, TN. The family
were members of Neely's Bend United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Jesse W. and
Diane Brown of Crossville; niece, Carol Darling of Crossville;
an aunt and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buren B. and Pauline
M. Brown.

Mrs. Roysdon was born March 11, 1929 in Cumberland County, the
daughter of Fred and Lizzie Williams Brown.
Mrs. Roysdon was a cook, and she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Richards, and son, Wesley
Roysdon, both of Crossville; sister, Rowena Burgess of Crossville;

Mr. Thomas was born Aug. 30, 1916 in Winesap, TN.
He was an equipment operator for the State of Tennessee.

TN; brothers, Litton Thomas of Mountain Home, ID, Floyd Thomas

on March 13 at Polk Memorial Garden in Tryon, NC.
Mrs. Clark was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Landrum, SC, the daughter
of Matthew and Jenny Bellew Barnette.
She was a homemaker, and she was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Julian "Dock" Barnette
of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Mae Burns of Spartanburg, and
Edith Lankford of Tryon; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth "Libby"

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Clark, and her

Mrs. Kendall was the wife of Donald Keith Kendall Sr., and the
daughter of the late Manila Pugh and Henry Clift.

Noel Hooper McNeil, 85, of the
Hebbertsburg community, passed away March 8, 2000. Funeral services

Mr. McNeil was born Dec. 25, 1914 in Hebbertsburg, the son of
Edwin and Flora Gang McNeil.
He was a retired farmer, and a member of Main St. Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Arno McNeil of Hebbertsburg; daughters
and sons-in-law, Brenda and Don Hinch, and Donna and Jimmy Davis,
all of Crossville; son, Rollo McNeil of Nashville; son and daughter-in-law,
Lynn and Carla McNeil of Hebbertsburg; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandchild.

NORMAN KEMMER
Norman Kemmer, 56, of Gulfport,
MS, passed away Feb. 26, 2000, in Ackerman, MS. Funeral services
were held Feb. 29 from the chapel of Riemann Memorial Funeral
Home in Gulfport, with burial in the Kemmer family plot.
Mr. Kemmer was a native of Crossville, and had been a resident
of the Gulf Coast for 42 years.
He was a brick mason, and he was an Air Force veteran, having
served during the Vietnam era. He was of the Baptist faith. He
was a member of the Wild Boar Conservation Association and the
NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Kemmer of Gulfport, MS; two
sons, Mitch Kemmer of Crossville, and Marty Kemmer of Hattiesburg,
MS; his mother, Agnes Mitchell Kemmer of Crossville; brother,
Jack Kemmer of Crossville; and two grandchildren, Leko Kemmer
and Dallas Kemmer, both of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Kemmer.

Steven "Steve" Dwayne
Richards, 39, of Crossville, passed away March 7, 2000 at Country
Place Health Center. Funeral services were held on March 10 from
the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home,
with burial in the Richards Cemetery in Fentress County. Bro.
Roger Cooper officiated.
Mr. Richards was born on Oct. 19, 1960, in Fentress County, TN.
He was a self-employed tire recapper.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Maezelle "Jeanie"
Beaty Ford and Bill Ford of Crab Orchard; his father, Herman
Richards of Crossville; daughter, Stephanie Richards, and son,
Steven Richards Jr., both of Indiana; sister, Alene Turner of

and Mike Richards of Cleveland, TN.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy, Jack, Gary

Donna Young Roberts, 56, of
Maryville, TN, passed away March 10, 2000, at Blount Memorial
Hospital. Funeral services were held March 13 from the West Chapel
of Smith Mortuary in Maryville. The family also will receive
friends from noon to 1 p.m. today at Bilbrey Funeral Home in
Crossville, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow
in Crossville City Cemetery.
She was born on April 18, 1943 in Akron, OH, the daughter of
Lena and Dean Young Sr.
She was a registered nurse at Blount Memorial Hospital for over
10 years, and she served as a lieutenant colonel in the Army
National Guard. She was a graduate of Baptist Hospital School
of Nursing and received a bachelor's degree from the University
of Tennessee. Loving her children and caring for the sick were
her divine purposes. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives
she touched.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kristi Roberts
and Jason Picciuto of Maryville; son, Larry "Michael"
Roberts of Maryville; sisters, Mary Eich and Linda Young, both
of Cookeville, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Cora and Jack Cole
of Crossville; brother, John K. Young of Chattanooga, TN; the
children's father and her friend, Larry Ross Roberts; and several
nieces and nephews. She also leaves her loyal dogs, Kasi and
Tori, who filled her life with endless joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Dean Young
Sr.; brother, George Dean Young Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jim
Eich.

Mrs. Loshbough was born on Aug. 26, 1950, in Toledo, OH, the
daughter of Donald and Mona Patricia Verdon Trowbridge.
She was a secretary, and she was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Tiffany Brewer and Kimberly
Willis, both of Crossville; one brother, Bobby Trowbridge of
Crossville; two sisters, Brenda Joseph and Virginia Tippit, both

supervisor for Dexter Co., in Fairfield, IA, and he was a member
of the Methodist Church in Fairfield. Mr. Story was also a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Hammond Story of Crossville;
daughter, Jeanie Ludeking of Knoxville, TN; daughter and son-in-law,
Jane and John Kurt of Waukon, IA; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry
and Kristine Story of Mission, TX; grandson and granddaughter-in-law,
Jaron and Lisa Ludeking; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Joshua
and Esther Story; and grandson Jacob Story.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Alta Story;
and his sister, Gladys Kelley.

Derek Burton Wood, 2 months
old, of Crossville, passed away March 3, 2000 in Nashville. Funeral
services were conducted on March 5 from the chapel of Bilbrey
Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bros.
Wade Webster and Phil Jenkins officiated, with special music
by the Church of Christ Singers.
Derek was born on Dec. 27, 1999 in Crossville, the son of Jay
and Amy Foland Wood.
Survivors include his mother and father, Amy and Jay Wood of
Crossville; twin brother, Dylan Wood, and sister, Carrie Elizabeth
Wood; grandparents, Jerry and Judy Wood and Bill and Grace Foland,
all of Crossville; great-grandmothers, Lurlene Wood and Lenice

William Ray Wyatt, 79, of Crossville,
passed away March 4, 2000 in UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
Funeral services were conducted on March 7 from the chapel of

Wyatt.
Mr. Wyatt was born June 7, 1920 in Cumberland County, the son
of Ellison and Amanda Stokes Wyatt.
He was a machine operator for Crossville Rubber Products, retiring
in 1982, and he was a member of Isoline Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Nelson
Miller, Amy Sue and Walter Reed, and Jeanne and Bruce Cotter,
all of Crossville; daughters, Peggy Wyatt and Sandra Jackson,
both of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda
Wyatt, Junior and Starla Wyatt, Donnie and Vicki Wyatt, all of
Crossville, Ronnie and Sharon Wyatt of Bethpage, TN, and Jerry
and Sharon Wyatt of Yadkinville, NC; brother, Doyle Wyatt of
Detroit, MI; sister, Wilma Jane Myers of Bellefontaine, OH; 20

Esther Elizabeth Bandy, 85,
of Crossville, passed away Feb. 27, 2000 in WyndRidge Health
and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on

in Crossville City Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Nickell officiated.
Mrs. Bandy was born on March 23, 1914 in Rockwood, TN, the daughter
of Francis and Sallie Burchfield.
She was a bank teller for the First National Bank and a long-time
member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was
a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Pat Ducey of Crossville;
brother-in-law, Bill Thurman and his wife Lois of Crossville;
sister-in-law, Nanny Burchfield of Harriman, TN; nephew, Donald
Burchfield of Sheffield, AL; niece, Damaris Maples of Red Bank,
NJ; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Sallie
Burchfield; her husband, Hubert Mitchell Bandy; an infant son;
a brother, Farris Burchfield; and sister, Laura Carter.

MARY NAOMI CASTLEMAN
Mary Naomi Castleman, 91, of
Crossville, passed away March 2, 2000 in WyndRidge Health and
Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services were conducted March
4 at the Crossville City Cemetery, with Bro. Thomas Hale officiating.
Mrs. Castleman was born Dec. 2, 1908, in Cumberland County, TN,
the daughter of Robert E. Bob and Millie Wyatt Ford.
Mrs. Castleman was a life-long resident of Crossville and a descendant
of Dr. John Ford, one of the early settlers of Grassy Cove. She
was a homemaker.
Survivors include her niece, Geraldine Craig Teague of Rossville,
GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Castleman;
her parents, Robert and Millie Ford; four brothers, John, Hayden,
George and Will Ford; and one sister, Pearl Ford Craig.

ALFRED M. GABBERT
Alfred M. Gabbert, 55, of Petaluma,
CA, passed away Feb. 22, 2000. Memorial services were held on
Feb. 24 at the Neptune Society in Santa Rosa, CA.
Mr. Gabbert was born on Nov. 28, 1944 in Arkansas, the son of
Robert and Frieda Pauline Gabbert.
He was a navy veteran, and was employed at Woodmont Properties
in Santa Rosa.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Frankie Gabbert; his
father, Robert Gabbert of Crossville; brother, James Gabbert
of Crossville; son and stepsons, Chris Gabbert of Oklahoma, John
Brown, Jr. and his family of Petaluma, and Jeffrey Brown and
his family of Kihei, HI; grandchildren, Kim, Sue, Jeannie and
Katie of Kihei, Daniel of Springfield, OR, and Alaina of Petaluma,
CA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frieda Pauline Gabbert
of Crossville.

SAMUEL GERALD HENDRICKS
Samuel Gerald "Jerry"
Hendricks, 84, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly a part-time resident
of Fairfield Glade, passed away Feb. 21, 2000, at his home in
St. Petersburg. Funeral services were held at the Woodlawn Presbyterian
Church in St. Petersburg.
Mr. Hendricks was born on Feb. 17, 1916 in Jefferson County,
TN, and moved to Knoxville at an early age.
He played football at Knoxville High School and later at the
University of Tennessee under Coach Neyland from 1936-38. He
wound up his college football career with an Orange Bowl victory
over Oklahoma on Jan. 1, 1939. That UT team had been undefeated
and untied during the 1938 season. After graduation he taught
and coached at Cookeville and Etowah high schools in Tennessee,
then accepted a position with St. Petersburg High School. Being
a reserve officer, he was called into service in 1942 during
World War II and spent three and a half years in the South Pacific
as an infantry officer. There he earned the Bronze Star and Purple
Heart. After his years in service he continued his career as
coach, educator, business manager and assistant principal at
St. Petersburg and Boca Ciega high schools until his retirement.
He earned his master's degree at UT during summer vacations.
Survivors include his sister Lynette of Crossville; brother and
sister-in-law, Hugh and Ruth Hendricks of Crossville; son Joel
Hendricks of St. Petersburg; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald
Brook and Michelle Hendricks of Temecula, CA; and grandchildren
Dylan and Devin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hendricks; and his
brother, Jess Hendricks.
WILLARD E. HONEYCUTT
Willard E. Honeycutt, 73, of
Rockwood, TN, passed away March 3 in Cumberland Medical Center.
Masonic services were held March 5 by the Rockwood Masonic Lodge
in the Westel Baptist Church, followed by funeral services with
the Rev. Charles Christopher officiating. Graveside services
and entombment were held March 6 in the Roane Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Honeycutt was a retired knitting supervisor of Kaiser-Roth
& Charleston Hosiery, and he was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran
of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member and Deacon
of the Westel Baptist Church; chaplain of Rockwood Masonic Lodge
No. 403 F&AM; past master and member of Alhambra Temple;
Crab Orchard VFW No. 9686; Order of Eastern Star No. 382; associate
patron, Drummond Council No. 0086, Crossville; and Plateau Commandry
No. 0038, Crossville.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Lee Honeycutt of Rockwood; daughter,
Terri Honeycutt of South Carolina; grandchildren, Tiffany and
Brittany Honeycutt; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nellie Honeycutt;
three sisters and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benevolent Fund
of the Westel Baptist Church, or the American Cancer Society.

James Edward Lackey, 49, of
Crossville, passed away March 2, 2000 at home. Funeral services
were conducted March 4 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home,
with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Elder Roger Hyder
and Bro. Morris Patton officiated.
Mr. Lackey was born on Aug. 23, 1950, in Jamestown, TN, the son
of Verdon and Aire Beaty Lackey.
He was an employee of Turner Day Woolworth Handle Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Penelope Roberts Lackey of Crossville;
daughter, Melissa Lackey McNew, and son, Jamie Lackey, both of
Crossville; three grandchildren, Zachary Lackey, Tyler McNew,
and Dakota Lackey; parents, Verdon and Aire Lackey of Crossville;
and two sisters, Phyliss Rhodes and Mary Kington, both of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Dixon.

Patricia "Trish" Elizabeth
Loshbough, 49, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 26, 2000 in Cumberland
Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted on Feb. 29 at
the Homestead Methodist Church, with burial in Crossville City
Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Rogers and the Rev. Fay Tucker officiated.
Mrs. Loshbough was born on Aug. 16, 1950, in Toledo, OH, the
daughter of Donald and Mona Patricia Verdon Trowbridge.
She was a secretary, and she was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Tiffany Brewer and Kimberly
Willis, both of Crossville; one brother, Bobby Trowbridge of
Crossville; two sisters, Brenda Joseph and Virginia Tippit, both
of Crossville; father and stepmother, Donald and Carol Trowbridge,
of Petersburg, MI; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Loshbough; and
her mother, Mona Patricia Verdon Trowbridge.

Lillie Bell Tays, 85, of Mayland,
passed away Feb. 28, 2000 at WyndRidge Nursing Care. Funeral

officiated.
Mrs. Tays was born on August 18, 1914 in Bridgeport, AL.
She was a homemaker.

daughters, Mary Sue Tays Button and Norma Ruth Tays Hyder, both
of Crossville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

George Richard Bowman, 65, of
Fairfield Glade, passed away Feb. 26, 2000. Memorial services

Mr. Bowman was born March 15, 1934 in Detroit, MI, the son of
Carl and Cathryn Woodman Bowman.
Mr. Bowman was retired from Ford Motor Co.

sons, Michael Richard Bowman of Howell, MI, and Douglas Reed

Mark Frank DeLeonard, 85, of
Fairfield Glade, passed away Feb. 25, 2000, at home. Memorial
services were conducted Feb. 27 at the Fairfield Glade Community
Church. The Rev. Dale Marshall officiated.
Mr. DeLeonard was born May 4, 1914 in Chicago, IL, the son of
Frank and Angela Imburg DeLeonard.
He was a university professor, and he served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Pauline Combs DeLeonard of Fairfield
Glade; two daughters, Marcia DeLeonard of Ann Arbor, MI, and
Sharon Lucas of Conneaut, OH; one granddaughter, Enid Meeker
of Montana; and one brother, Joseph DeLeonard of Fairfield Glade.

Kenneth Harlan Eickstaedt, 68,
of Crossville, passed away Feb. 24, 2000 at St. Thomas Hospital
in Nashville. Memorial services were conducted on Feb. 28 from
the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home. The Rev. David W. Wollenburg
officiated.
Mr. Eickstaedt was born Jan. 24, 1932 in Elgin, IL, the son of
Fred and Leona Salow Eickstaedt.
He was a press set-up operator for Flexonic Co., and he served
in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was of the Lutheran
faith.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Johnson Eickstaedt of Crossville;
son, Robert Eickstaedt of Elgin, IL; stepdaughter, Jackie Sanders
of Crossville; stepson, Charles Wagner of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Mabe and Lou Theilen,
both of Elgin; and a brother, Richard Eickstaedt of Princeton,

Dennis James Garrett Sr., 42,
of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Feb. 25, 2000. Funeral services

Charles E. Garrett and Ruth Garrett of Crossville.
He was employed with Lawing Marble Co. as an installer.

Leonard D. Holmes, Jr., 66,
of Crossville, passed away Feb. 27, 2000. Funeral services will
be held March 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church,
with Father Patrick Brownell officiating. Visitation will be
tonight from 6 to 8 with prayer service at Burris Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA,
on March 7 at 1 p.m.
Mr. Holmes was born Dec. 7, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT, the son of
Leonard D. Sr. and Mildred White Holmes.
Mr. Holmes was a retired sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, and
he also retired as manager with Lennox Collection. He was a member
of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Holmes of Crossville; daughter
and son-in-law, Susan and Andrew Plocharczyk of Mt. Holly, NJ;
son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Holmes of Mt. Laurel,
NJ; sister, Sandra Marie Yish of Hudson, NH; and four grandchildren,
Scott, Andrea and Caila Plocharczyk and Lisa Holmes.
