IDA BETHEL CAVE
Ida Bethel Cave, 94, of Crossville, passed away June 24, 2000, in WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted June 26 at Liberty Baptist Church, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Johnny Goldston officiated.
Ms. Cove was born Sept. 10, 1905 in Wood County, TX.
Survivors include her daughters, Susie Beatrice Moore of Crossville and Abie Ruth Hulse of Abilene, TX; son, Dencal R. Cave of Crossville; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

JONAS GLENN GOSS
Jonas Glenn Goss, 75, of Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of Crossville, passed away June 22, 2000. Funeral services were conducted June 26 at Bilbrey Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
Mr. Goss was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Crossville, the son of Zack and Frances Goss.
He was an industrial insulator, and a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a resident of Pompano Beach since 1988.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Goss of Pompano Beach; daughters, Charlotte Goss of Knoxville, TN, and Donna G. Goss of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Ann Goss of Nashville; brothers, Harold Goss and Donald Goss, both of Crossville; sister, Mayme Pugmra of Ovid, ID; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Mary Ruth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zack and Frances Goss; a sister, Lenore Elmore; and brothers, Earl Goss, Lloyd Goss and Burl Goss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vitas Health Care Hospice, 5420 NW 33rd Ave., Suite 100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

WILLIAM CECIL RANDOLPH
William Cecil Randolph, 73, of Crossville, formerly of Sparta, TN, passed away June 21, 2000, in the V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. Funeral services were conducted June 24 at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta, with burial in Board Valley Cemetery. Kenneth Young and Lloyd Williams officiated.
Mr. Randolph was born March 2, 1927, in Sparta.
He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Boyd Randolph of Crossville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Betty Randolph of Crossville and Troy and Regeina Smith of Delbarton, WV; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lynn Vitatoe of Crossville and Brenda and Ivan Sperry of DeWitt, MI; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Nonnie Randolph of Manchester, TN, Estus and Chris Randolph of Sparta, and Roger and Helen Randolph of Dayton, OH; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ward Hospice, V.A. Medical Center, Murfreesboro.

KENNETH FRANCIS KINGAN
Kenneth Francis Kingan, 80, of Crossville, passed away June 19, 2000, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted June 21 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Charles Martin and Bro. David Purdy officiating. Burial will be in Riley Chapel Cemetery in Butler Township, OH.
Mr. Kingan was born March 11, 1920, in Grafton, NE, the son of Robert Porter and Mary Elizabeth Emma Kingan.
He was a laborer, and of the Nazarene faith. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth E. Kingan of Crossville; two daughters, Mary Ellen White of Brinkhaven, OH, and Karen Marie Joliff of Marion, OH; eight stepchildren, Richard, Mary Francis, Lloyd, David, Leonard, Thelma, Leon and Hazel; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Emma Kingan; two wives, Edna Wilson Kingan and Thelma Fox Kingan; and a brother, Orville Emma Kingan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.

LORENA McCUSKER
Lorena McCusker, 63, of Crossville, passed away June 19, 2000. Funeral services were conducted June 21 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in City Cemetery. Mike Ritzman officiated.
Ms. McCusker was born March 12, 1937, in Portsmith, OH.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Dewane McCusker of Crossville; daughters, Sherry Lizarraga, Regina Hajny and Nancy Crites, all of Crossville; brothers, Jimmy Hampton of Milliford, MI, Kenneth Hampton and Randy Hampton, both of Detroit, MI; sister, Debbie Hampton of Detroit; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joshua Crites, Frankie Hajny, Memo Lizarraga, Paige Crites, Guss Lizarraga and Andy Hajny.

VIOLA KAY ADAMS
Viola Kay Adams, 47, of Crossville, passed away June 15, 2000, in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Funeral services were conducted June 18 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Mayland Cemetery. Bros. Robbie Miller, Kenny Smith and Kevin Smith officiated.
Mrs. Adams was born Feb. 25, 1953, in Putnam County, TN, the daughter of Oakley and Addie Smith Hargis, formerly of Wilder, TN.
She was a sterile distribution technician, and she was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvette Adams of Crossville; son, Steven Adams of Crossville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Ray Shelton and Carolyn and Kenneth Madewell, all of Mayland, Evelyn Myler of French Lick, IN, Ruth Ann and Hollis Hall of Linary and Mary and J.B. McCrary of Crossville; ex-husband, Ernest Adams of Crossville; aunts and uncles, Mary and Myles Spurlin of Crawford, TN, Margaret and Rick Massimie of Tampa, FL, and Lucy Hargis Store of Crossville; special friends, Jewel Graham and Theda Taylor; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Hargis.

VEZIO MICHAEL ALEXANDER
Vezio Michael "Mike" Alexander, 83, of Crossville, passed away June 11, 2000, at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted June 13 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Mike Kerley officiated.
Mr. Alexander was born Nov. 1, 1916, in Pennsylvania.
He was a zookeeper in Detroit, MI, and he was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Leta Alexander of Crossville; two daughters, Shirley Miller and Rita Wright, both of Madison Heights, MI; son, Dana Blake of Flint, MI; sister, Wanda Fontana of Independence, OH; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

RAINEY HENRY BEYER
Rainey Henry Beyer, 94, of Auburndale, FL, formerly of Crossville, passed away June 9, 2000, in Auburndale. Funeral services were conducted June 12 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. John Banner officiated.
Mr. Beyer was born Jan. 22, 1906, in Crossville, the son of Fred and Hixie Hall Beyer.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Castleman Beyer of Auburndale; son, Boyd Beyer of Alexandria, VA; daughter, Pattie J. Stokes of Auburndale; and a sister, Annie House of Johnson City, TN.

DALLAS BOLIN
Dallas Bolin, 76, of Crossville, passed away June 15, 2000, in Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted June 17 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Newton Cemetery. Wade Webster and Phil Jenkins officiated.
Mr. Bolin was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Cumberland County.
He was a mechanic and truck driver, and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his sons, Phillip Bolin of California, Harold Bolin and Edward Bolin, both of Crossville, Wayne Bolin of Columbia, TN, and Arbie Bolin of Oliver Springs; daughter, Barbara Ashburn of Crossville; sisters, Lillian Sapp of Crossville and Roni Huber of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Bolin; and a grandson, Mike Bolin.

Orthy Bumbalough, 81, of Crossville, passed away June 14, 2000, in Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted June 17 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. Hollace Page officiated, with special music by John Riley.
Mrs. Bumbalough was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Byrdstown, TN, the daughter of Carlos and Ada Neal Whittenburg.
She was an accountant, and he was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Norma Joyce Kaffenbarger of Crossville and Janice Dolores Marler of Wake Forest, NC; brothers, Glen Whittenburg and Paul Whittenburg, both of Crossville, J.D. Whittenburg of Pleasant Hill, Floyd Whittenburg of Nashville, TN, and Bobby Whittenburg of Auburn, AL; sisters, Dorothy Neal and Audrey Mae Spriggs, both of Crossville, Christine Thompson, Shirley Stewart and Wanda Whittenburg, all of Pleasant Hill; sister-in-law, Claudine Whittenburg of Pleasant Hill; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Bumbalough; two brothers, Lloyd Whittenburg and Linny Whittenburg; and one sister, Jean Chastine.

JAMES HERBERT FARMER SR.
James Herbert "Herb" Farmer Sr., 76, of Crossville, passed away June 9, 2000, at home. Funeral services were conducted June 12 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. The Rev. George Long officiated.
Mr. Farmer was born March 1, 1924, in Crossville, the son of Benjamin and Lee Ann Elmore Farmer.
He was a transportation director for Cumberland County, and he was a member of the First Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie LeQuire Farmer of Crossville; one daughter, Jeannie Stevens of Murfreesboro, TN; two sons, James H. Farmer Jr. of Falling Water, NY, and Bobby Farmer of Crossville; three brothers, Ralph Farmer of Tampa, FL, Chester Farmer of Knoxville, TN, and Rudolph Farmer of Crossville; two sisters, Effie Horn and Marie Cook, both of Crossville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Farmer.

DAVID THOMAS HANCOCK
David Thomas Hancock, 74, of Crossville, passed away June 15, 2000, in Oak Ridge, TN. No services are planned.
Mr. Hancock was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Powderly, KY.
He was a retired machinist with over 30 years of service for International Navistar, and he served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia T. Hancock; daughters, Barbara Jean Petro, Debra Ann Hancock and Sharee Ortiz; sons, William Thomas Hancock and Carlos Ortiz; sister, Betty Taylor; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

FRANCES BREEDING HEDGECOTH
Frances Breeding Hedgecoth, 78, of Crossville, passed away June 17, 2000. Funeral services were conducted June 18 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in City Cemetery. George Long officiated.
Mrs. Hedgecoth was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Cumberland County.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Hedgecoth of Crossville; sons, Nick Hedgecoth and Ralph Hedgecoth, both of Crossville; sisters, Dean Bilbrey and Mattie Breeding Hedgecoth, both of Crossville; brother, Haney Breeding of Crossville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Irene June Horgan, 76, of Fairfield Glade, passed away June 13, 2000, at home. Funeral services were conducted June 16 from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with burial in St. Francis of Assisi Columbarium. Father Gregory Boisvert officiated.
Mrs. Horgan was born July 4, 1923, in Toronto, Canada, the daughter of Alex and Margaret McClain Hughes.
She was a registered nurse, and she was of the Catholic faith. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy J. Horgan of Fairfield Glade; three daughters, Janet Marie Eskin of Levonia, MI, Mary Beth Dehne of Saginaw, MI, and Margaret Mary Christner of Red Horse, MD; five sons, Kenneth Paul Horgan of Howell, MI, Patrick Joseph Horgan of Pickney, MI, Daniel Patrick Horgan and David Joseph Horgan, both of Levonia, MI, and Michael Thomas Horgan of Jerome, MI; two brothers, Robert Hughes of Englewood, CO, and Fred Hughes of Chester, NJ; and a sister, Gloria Regis of Littleton, CO.
She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Michael Horgan; a sister, Daisy Longbrake; and a brother, Alex Hughes.

JOHN MELTON MILLER
John Melton Miller, 61, of Crossville, passed away June 18, 2000, at WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24 at 11 a.m. at the First Nazarene Church in Crossville. Bro. Dale Martin will officiate.
Mr. Miller was born Jan. 10, 1939, the son of John T. and Frances Miller.
He was a custodian at Fair Park Senior Citizens Center, and he served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include three sisters, Jane Profancik of California, Margaret Sather of Roswell, GA, and Jessie Roberts of Huber Heights, OH; and a brother, Thom Miller of Crossville.

MARY LOU MOORE
Mary Lou Moore, 72, of Crossville, passed away June 15, 2000. Funeral services were conducted June 18 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Browntown Cemetery. Gene Burgess officiated.
Ms. Moore was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Rivia, OK.
She was a retired waitress.
Survivors include her son, Ray Greathouse of Walsenberg, CO; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie H. and Betty J. Bonds of Crossville; sister, Joyce Saunders of Crossville; grandchildren, Amber, J.D. and Matthew Greathouse of Walsenberg, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

HARVEY WAYNE ROYSDON
Harvey Wayne Roysdon, 45, of Crossville, passed away June 18, 2000, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Funeral services were conducted June 20 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Linary Cemetery. George Dunbar officiated.
Mr. Roysdon was born May 16, 1955, in Rockwood, TN, the son of the late William and Violet Roysdon.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Anne Roysdon of Friendsville, TN; sisters, Lottie McLean of Knoxville and Thelma Goolsby of Tuscaloosa, AL; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal and Randy Craig of Hudson, NC, Faye and Terry Manning and Kay and James Whiteaker, all of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Violet Roysdon.

TED SHERRILL
Ted Sherrill, 63, of Crossville, passed away June 11, 2000, at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted June 14 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Linary Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Smith officiated.
Mr. Sherrill was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Cumberland County, the son of Ike and Reva Leffew Sherrill.
He was a rock quarry worker, and he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include five daughters, Jennifer Turner, Gail Sherrill, Angie Shelton and Mary Kerley, all of Crossville, and Debbie Stogner of Foxworth, MI; three sons, David Sherrill, Sam Sherrill and Dewayne Sherrill, all of Crossville; three sisters, Marjie Barnette of Crossville, Virginia Beaty of Zyril, OK, and Oma Lee Brumfield of Zephyrhills, FL; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Miller Sherrill.
Pallbearers were Doyle Davis, Daniel Sherrill, Richard Kerley, Michael Hammons, Christopher Nicholas, Stacy Shelton and Archie Jennings.

JOSEPHINE SWANGO
Josephine Swango, 76, of Crossville, passed away June 12, 2000, in Cumberland Medical Center.
Ms. Swango was born May 9, 1924, in Rochester, IN, the daughter of the late Arlie and Lulu Walters Wynn.
She was a factory worker and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Swango of Indianapolis, IN, and Arlene Jones of Crossville.

GEORGE EDWARD BURTCHELL
George Edward Burtchell, 54, of Crossville, passed away April 1, 2000. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 21 in the chapel of Burris Funeral Home. Fr. Patrick Brownell will officiate. Members of VFW Post No. 5025 will present the flag.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Burtchell was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Alan and Florence Tootill Burtchell.
He retired from New York City Transit Authority, and he served in the U.S. Navy. He attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Burtchell of Crossville; daughters, Carolanne Burtchell of Crossville and Deborah DeMola of Brooklyn; sister, Dorothy Schook of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Alan Burtchell of Littleton, NC; and grandchildren, Jessica and Richard.

WILLIE MONROE CARR
Willie Monroe Carr, 68, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away June 17, 2000. Funeral services will be conducted today, June 20, at 1 p.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, with burial in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery. The Rev. Homer Furr will officiate.
Mr. Carr was born Jan. 30, 1932, in White County, TN.
He was a sergeant first class, retired, of the U.S. Army.

Anita Naomi Strickland Hamby, 66, of Rincon, GA, passed away June 7, 2000, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Funeral services were conducted June 9 at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel, in Rincon. Interment was in Lower Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bryan County, GA. The Rev. Cam Huxford and the Rev. Bob Parks officiated.
Ms. Hamby was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Bryan County.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Rincon First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rickie and Howard Watkins Jr. of Rincon; a son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Joy Hamby of Crossville; two sisters, Thelma S. Bowen of Acworth, GA, and Nellie Lucille Strickland of Otokita, OK; seven grandchildren, David J. Hamby of Sedalia, MO, Alyssa Watkins of Statesboro, GA, Leslie, Trey and Angela Watkins of Rincon, and Daniel Webster of Crossville; and a lifelong friend, Nell B. Jenkins of Rincon, GA.

MILFORD SULLIVAN
Milford "Mic" Sullivan, 71, of Crossville, formerly of the Linary community, passed away June 12, 2000. Funeral services were conducted June 15 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in City Cemetery. Elmer Bell and John Hollingworth officiated.
Mr. Sullivan was born May 16, 1929, in Cumberland County, the son of Mark and Betty Sullivan.
He was a farmer.
Survivors include three sisters, Daisy Brown, Jewel Hancock and Elizabeth York, all of Crossville; and three brothers, Mark Sullivan Jr. of Crossville, Fred Sullivan of Dayton, OH, and Menzo Sullivan of Miami, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Betty Sullivan; and a brother, James Sullivan.

STEVEN WALTER TWARDOSKY
Steven Walter Twardosky, 51, of Dade City, FL, formerly of Crossville, passed away June 13, 2000, in Tampa, FL. A memorial service was conducted June 19 at the Coleman and Ferguson Funeral Home in Dade City, with Dale Garrison officiating.
Mr. Twardosky was born Feb. 25, 1949, in Nashua, NH.
He moved from Crossville to Fort Lauderdale, FL, 24 years ago. He was a superintendent for the R.A. Rogers Construction Company of Orlando, FL. He also served in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam.

Mr. Hayes was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Cumberland County.
He was retired from Roane Electric, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Dogwood Church.

Mrs. Hayes was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Walter and Mary DeRossett.

RAY HILTON HIGGINS
Ray Hilton Higgins of Crossville passed away June 10, 2000, at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted June 12 at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Knoxville, with the Rev. Jimmy Bailes, the Rev. John Roberson and Mr. C. Edwin Graves officiating.
Mr. Higgins' date and place of birth were not released.
Mr. Higgins was a graduate of Wartrace High School; the U.S. Naval Communications School on Gallup Island, near Boston, MA; and the University of Tennessee. Following graduation from college in 1950, he was an active member of the UT Alumni Association. He was especially proud of serving on the committee that established the Chair of Excellence in Insurance, within the finance department of the university.
Mr. Higgins was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 24, in Knoxville, TN. He had served as an ensign in World War II on orders of the Coast Guard/Merchant Marine. He was involved in the military action to liberate the Mariana Islands and the Philippines from Japanese occupation.
He was employed in the insurance industry throughout his work life and was an active member of many organizations. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of Master's Lodge No. 244 and the Scottish Rite in Knoxville. His community involvement included serving as a distinguished past president of Holston Optimist Club, as well as being a member of the Kiwanis Club of the Carter community.
For many years, Mr. Higgins was an integral part of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Knoxville, serving in numerous capacities. At the time of his death, he was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Crossville.

Mr. Wasko was born June 18, 1942, in Cleveland, OH, the son of Stephen and Elizabeth Sharwark Wasko.
He was a cost accountant for Picker International. He was head of the planning committee of Lake Tansi Property Owners Association. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era.

Mr. Wheeler was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Montclair, NJ, the son of George and Mae Perry Wheeler.

Mr. Burnham was born June 11, 1912, in Marysville, OH, the son of Carson and Emma Triplett Burnham.
He was a retired industrial engineer with French Oil Mill Machinery Co. He has lived in Fairfield Glade for the past 21 years and was a charter member of the Fairfield Glade Community Church, where he served on the architectural planning committee as well as in the choir. He was a member of the High Noon Club, the Antioch Shrine Temple in Dayton, OH, the Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite Consistery and the Piqua Masonic Lodge. Mr. Burnham was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing in the nearby lakes.

Mr. Pickel was born April 25, 1928, in Bristol, TN, the son of John and Lillie Williams Pickel.

Robert Delmar Risner, 79, of Fairfield Glade, passed away June 5, 2000, at home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, KY. The Rev. Dale Marshall, pastor of Fairfield Glade Community Church, will officiate. Visitation will be after the funeral service.

Mr. Risner was born May 4, 1921, in Bell County, KY, the son of David and Maude Risner.
He graduated from Bell County High School in 1941. He retired from Tennessee Valley Authority in 1983 with 40 years of service, including three years in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jean Lee Risner of Fairfield Glade; brothers-in-law, Judge Joe Lee of Lexington, KY, and Jess Willard Henley of McLean, VA; sisters-in-law, Carole Lee of Lexington, and Una Henley of McLean; and many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

Monroe Henry Godsey, 82, of Crossville, passed away May 30, 2000, in WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted June 2 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Elmer Graham officiated. The American Legion presented the flag at the cemetery.
Mr. Godsey was born Jan. 4, 1919, in Cumberland County, the son of Henry Martin and Mary Alice Norris Godsey.
He was a construction worker, and a member of Pomona Full Gospel Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Boles Godsey of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Helen Ann and Daniel Tuttle of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, Billy "Buck" and Marguerite Godsey of Jacksonville, NC; sons, Jerry Godsey of Crossville and James Godsey of Jacksonville; sisters, Mary Ethel Justice, Georgia Edda Norris and Vela Naomi Oakes, all of Dayton, OH, and Jane Ann Norris of Crossville; brother, Clifford Eugene Godsey of Dayton; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alice Godsey; five brothers, Thomas, James, David, Howard and Roscoe Godsey; and two daughters, Anna Marie Godsey and Margie Ellen Godsey.

Harry Bartlette Henry, 75, of Knox County, TN, passed away June 3, 2000. Funeral services will be conducted tonight, June 6, at 8 from Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel in Knoxville, TN, with the Rev. John Roberson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. June 7 at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
Mr. Henry was born July 31, 1924, in Sequachie Vallie, Cumberland County, the son of Ulysses Grant Henry and Myrtle Jerushia Hale Henry.
He was a cattle farmer and beekeeper, and retired after 28 years with TVA, working in construction and design. He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, Knox County Beekeepers Association, Knox County Cattleman's Association and Knoxville Technical Society. He met his wife of 53 years in the band at the University of Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Barhyt Johnson Henry; daughters and sons-in-law, Esther Marie and Jack Gaster of Pittsboro, NC, Therese Lucille and Andrew Morris of Atoka, TN, and Sarah Alexina "Lexie" and William Van Pelt of Augusta, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Macklyn and Kim Bacon Henry, and Stuart Nathan and Rebecca Hayes Henry, all of Knoxville; sister, Mary Jo Henry Martin of Marysville, OH; and 10 grandchildren, Michael Barhyt Henry, Laura Kendall Henry, Sarah Tyler Henry, Laura Jennifer Lacy, Rachel Elizabeth Henry, Erika Rose Henry, Craig Alexander Henry, all of Knoxville, Samantha Anne Morris and Jason Henry Morris of Atoka, and Haley Elise Van Pelt of Augusta.

Thelma Walker Horn, 68, of Monterey, TN, passed away June 3, 2000. Funeral services were conducted June 5 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey, with interment to follow in the Whittaker Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Hamaker and the Rev. David Corley officiated.
Mrs. Horn was born March 18, 1932, in Monterey, the daughter of the late Walter and Dessie Williams Raines.
She was a garment factory worker with Ely and Walker in Monterey until its closing, and attended the Monterey Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include seven daughters, Janice Coppinger, Beverly Watson, Carol Walker, Lisa Walker and Melissa Gillespie, all of Monterey, Debbie Mackie of Cookeville, TN, and Sherry Walker of Clarkrange, TN; two sons, Steve Walker and Tommy Walker, both of Monterey; sisters, Maxine Farley and Margaret Guffey, both of Monterey; brothers, Bud Raines of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jack Raines of Cookeville, Tommy Raines and Cecil Raines, both of Monterey, and Dan Raines of Dunlap; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Walker; an infant daughter, Karen Sue Walker; and a sister, Judy Hawkins.

Mrs. Pickett was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Fentress County, TN, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Padgett Harville.
She was a laundry worker, and of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Stevens was born June 20, 1914, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Charlie and Josephine Smith Tabor.
She was a retired school cook, and she was a member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle.
Survivors include her sister, Pauline Hall of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stevens.

Ruby Jean Hotsinpiller Schreiber, 74, of Trufant, MI, formerly of Mayland, passed away May 7, 2000, in Greenville, MI. Mrs. Schreiber was born April 19, 1926, in Thorton, WV, to the late Joseph and Bessie Hamm Hotsinpiller.

Mr. Hayes was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Cumberland County.
He was an employee of Roane Electric, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Sherrill and Reta Pippin, both of Ozone, and Betty Cross of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Gloria Hayes of Linary; sister, Martha Lee Lowery; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Hayes; and a brother, Holman Hayes.

Mr. Hayes was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Cumberland County, the son of Wiley and Mirta Hayes.
He was a carpenter, and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hayes; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Mineva Hayes of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Vance of Crossville; sisters, Mary Ruth Sullivan, Flora Whitaker, Wilma Williams, Vera Futhey, Ellen Cox, Sharon Smith and Carolyn Hennessee; brother, Earl Hayes; grandsons, B.J. and Derrick Hayes and Nathan and Jordan Vance; and special family friend, Felicia Barnwell.

Belva Phillips, 69, of Monterey, TN, passed away May 31, 2000, at the Cookeville Regional Hospital. Tex Boles will officiate, with interment to follow in the Phillips Cemetery in Anderson County.
Mrs. Phillips was born Feb. 11, 1931, in Grassy Cove, the daughter of the late Vanus and Ova Phillips Bilbrey.
She was a seamstress, and she attended the Monterey Second Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Dale Thompson of Monterey; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Pam Phillips of Monterey; sisters, Velva Padgett and Delva Melton, both of Monterey; brothers, Estel Bilbrey of Crossville, Destel Bilbrey of Clarkrange, TN, and Bestel Bilbrey of Monterey; and four grandchildren, Jamie Phillips and his wife Lora, Jessica Phillips and Jason and Stacy Thompson.

Mr. Blaylock was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Bledsoe County, the son of Mike and Mary Thomas Blaylock.

Mr. Flynn was born April 11, 1909, in Cumberland County, the son of John and Elizabeth Hyder Flynn.

Joyce Davenport Gore, 66, of Gainesboro, TN, passed away May 30, 2000, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Gore was born Jan. 31, 1934, in Jackson County, TN, the daughter of the late Cordell and Versie Cherry Davenport.
She was retired from Nielsen and Bainbridge in Gainesboro. She was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ in Jackson County.
Survivors include her son, Garry Gore of Gainesboro; daughters, Tammy England of Crossville and Deborah Lynn of Cookeville, TN; brother, Bobby Davenport of Goodlettsville, TN; sisters, Wanda Bybee and Sarah June Johnson, both of Gainesboro, and Sue Gardner of Owensboro, KY; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

CAROLYN BERNARD GREIF
Carolyn Bernard Greif, 72, of Rockwood, TN, passed away May 28, 2000, in the Rockwood Health Care Center. Graveside services and interment were held May 30 from the New Jewish Cemetery in Knoxville, TN, with Rabbi Schwartz and Rabbi Simon officiating.
Mrs. Greif was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Rockwood, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bernard.
She was a member of Temple Beth-El and the Temple Beth-El Sisterhood of Knoxville. She loved her bridge club, supper club group and "Lunch Bunch." She was a supporter of many civic activities in Rockwood, and was one of the founders of the Bernard Scholarship Award at Roane State Community College, now in its 27th year.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Maurice P. Greif of Rockwood; son, Edward B. Greif of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Zimmerman of Cordova, TN; grandchildren, Kelli Adele Zimmerman and Zachary Tyler Zimmerman, both of Cordova; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold S. and Ann Bernard and Dr. Stanley and Adell Bernard, all of Nashville; sister-in-law, Margie Landau of Dallas, TX; cousin, Shirley Bernard Sturn of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bernard; brother, Dr. Jack A. Bernard of El Paso, TX; aunts, Ethel S. Rywell, Leah Tenanbaum and Bessie S. Drake; and uncles, Lionel Stone and Frank Bernard.

Mrs. Silvey was born May 1, 1912, in Oak Ridge, TN, the daughter of William Preston and Beulah Katherine Fox Green.
She was a textile factory worker, and she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Bobbye Shipe of Crossville and Johnnie Msrsa of Knoxville, TN; son, Harold E. Silvey of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Waldo was born Dec. 3, 1919, in Cumberland County.
He was self-employed.
