Traverse Bay School stages
Twain tale of ‘Tom Sawyer’


Huck Finn, played by Reece Karbowski, Tom Sawyer, played by Alan Tilley, and Joe Harper, portrayed by Michael Budros, prepare to rehearse a scene from “Tom Sawyer” last Wednesday at Traverse Bay Community School. The two-act play, directed by Marilyn Tilley, was staged Thursday at the school.

Tom Sawyer tricks a group of boys into doing his chores after convincing them that whitewashing a fence would be fun work.




Aunt Polly, played by Julia Pittenger, cries because she thinks that Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Joe Harper are all dead. The trio later shows up alive at their own funeral.




Injun Joe, played by Mitch Karbowski, talks things over with Muff Potter, played by James Bremer in this scene at the city docks.


Tom Sawyer, played by Alan Tilley, shows off the tickets he acquired under dubious circumstances in order to win the bible prize in this school house scene from “Tom Sawyer.” The play, a dramatization of Mark Twain’s book “Tom Sawyer,” takes place in and around the town of St. Petersburg, Mo.




Becky, played by Aneka Saxon, gives Tom Sawyer, played by Alan Tilley, a kiss on the cheek after he shares a piece of slightly chewed gum with her.
