WSH performs holly jolly Christmas concert

Holiday concert features West Senior High Symphony and Concerto Orchestras


Senior Emily Dayton performs with the first violin section. The symphony string players demonstrated their bowing dexterity as they played selections from “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” and “Fantasia on Greensleeves.”

J.W. Carpenter plays the double bass along with Chelsea Soyring. Carpenter, a junior, also performs with the West Senior High Concerto Orchestra.




Conductor Catherine Sivits leads the Traverse City West Senior High Symphony Orchestra as they perform in concert Sunday afternoon in the school auditorium. The holiday concert featured both the symphony and concerto orchestras performing such notable music as “A Holly Jolly Christmas” and “March of the Nutcracker.” The West Senior High Orchestras also held a bake sale following their afternoon performance. Proceeds from the bake sale will go toward the music festival trip in Toronto scheduled for April 15-18.
