Jamie Hirs rides her Chesapeake pony around a barrel in Cloverleaf competition. Hirs, who belongs to the Windsonet Wrangers 4-H Club, took first place in the race around three barrels.




Lauren and Kristie Sieloff wash off Buttercup with an appropriately named cleaning product: Woolite. Sieloff says the cleaning product actually helps brighten the sheep’s woolly coat.




Two-year-old fillies fly down the homestretch in the eighth race of the Michigan Futurity Stakes held Monday afternoon at the Northwest Michigan Fair. The horses in this harness race competed for a $6,408 purse.




Competitors in the grand and reserve grand championship turn over their rabbits under the instruction of the judge. The group of 19 finalists was judged both on knowledge of rabbits and the condition of their animal.
