If you tune into this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, you might see a familiar face or two right behind the new Charlie Brown balloon.
Chelsi Anderson, Briana McGarry and Ashley Thompson, members of the Traverse City West Senior High Titan dance team, will be performing along with invited dancers from across the country.
The girls, as senior co-captains of the Titan dance team, were invited to participate in the parade after attending a dance camp at Michigan State University last summer.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the girls, they are so excited," said Sharon McGarry, coach of the Titan dance team.
While in New York, the girls along with coaches McGarry and Barb Anderson, will visit the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes and see "The Lion King" on Broadway. They plan to make a visit to the Empire State Building, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Ground Zero.
They will also participate in numerous rehearsals including one with New York City dance instructor, Frank Hatchett.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing the Rockettes, shopping and just going to New York period," Thompson said. "It will be great to be there at this time of year."
