Goin’ to the Fair way more than fairly fun

Fair features 4-H animals, car show, and midway rides

Screams of terrified delight fill the midway as riders swing high above the grounds of the Northwestern Michigan Fair in Blair Township.

Muscle cars, sports cars and antique vehicles show off their high polish chrome during a Classic and Antique Cars and Trucks show, which was part of Classic Cruise Day.




Fair-goers could indulge their senses — from the sights high atop the Ferris wheel to the smells and salty taste of a slice of pepperoni pizza.




Members of the band “Custer Wolf” perform for a crowd gathered in the grandstands for the “Showcase of Bands Competition” sponsored by radio station WKLT. Top area bands competed for a $1,000 first-place prize.
