DENISE A.
GONZALEZ



Denise A. Gonzalez, 36, of Niagara Falls, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 in Buffalo General Hospital, unexpectedly. Mrs. Gonzalez was born June 28, 1970 in Buffalo, the daughter of James Berst of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Geraldine (McMinindes) Berst of Buffalo. She graduated from Our Lady of Pompeii School in Lancaster and attended college in California. She was employed in health care, she loved children and enjoyed reading and life.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 19 years, Manuel J. Gonzalez; a daughter, Brittany Gonzalez and a son, Cody Gonzalez, both at home; her grandmother, Lois McMinindes of Buffalo; two brothers, Anthony Berst and Jonathan Berst, both of Buffalo and several aunts and uncles.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held Saturday 9:30a.m. in St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church, 8469 Buffalo Avenue. Memorial donations may be made c/o the family for a college fund for Denise’s children. Arrangements by the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC.



EDITH VOGEL
Edith Vogel (Cote) Age 77, formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., died January 8, 2007 in Jennie B. Richmond Chaffee Nursing Home, Springville, N.Y. She was born June 16, 1929 in Milton Mills, New Hampshire.
Beloved mother of Thomas, Cathy (Scott) Broomfield, Richard, Carl III (Susan), Suzette (Daniel) Rushwin; former wife of the late Carl L. Vogel Jr.; also survived by twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Acacia Park Cemetary Chapel, 4215 North Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda, N.Y., Friday January 12, 2007 at 1p.m. Flowers gratefully declined.





EDWARD A.
POPADUCH



Edward A. Popaduch, 93 years old, passed to the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2007 suddenly at his home in Wheatfield. He was born on December 15, 1913 in the Kaisertown section of Buffalo, the son of the late Theodore and Angeline (Gron) Popaduch.
He was an employee of the Chevrolet Plant Division of General Motors Corporation for 40 years where he was a tool grinder, retiring in 1979. During his employment, he received numerous awards for his innovative ideas for continuous quality improvements. He was an avid sports fan of baseball, especially the New York Yankees and of Buffalo Bills football. Mr. Popaduch was an active member of the Adams Volunteer Fire Department and will be posthumously receiving their 50 Year Membership Pin. He used his CPR skills to rescue a man’s life while attending a wedding in Utica. He enjoyed his beloved family, the outdoors and farming and continually being engaged in a variety of work. At age 89, he was still snowplowing in his open-air tractor during snowstorms. His industrious spirit continued until the day he died.
Mr. Popaduch was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen A. (Jakubowski) Popaduch, who died one month ago. He was the loving father of Barbara A. (James) Kowalski and Marcia C. Popaduch, both of Wheatfield. He was a dear grandfather to Christine M. Kowalski of Wheatfield and Michele L.(Shaun) Burke of North Tonawanda. He is also survived by his sister, Bernice Jasinski of Columbia, SC. Mr. Popaduch was predeceased by his parents, Theodore Popaduch and Angeline (Gron) (Popaduch) Lorka; his brothers, Emil Lorka, Roman Lorka, Frank Lorka and his sisters, Michaline Olejniczak, Joanna Lorka and Lucille Browning.
The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7 to 9pm at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road (284-1573), where the Adams Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service on Friday at 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Holy Trinity Church, 1419 Falls Street concelebrated by Rev. Slawomir Siok and Rev. Duane Fimbel. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adams Volunteer Fire Department, EMS Fund, 7113 Nash Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.




JOHN J.
KOZLOWSKI


John J. Kozlowski, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born July 12, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Bociak) Kozlowski and attended local schools. He entered the U.S. Air Force July 18, 1946 and served with the 52nd Air Base Group in Manila receiving the WW-2 Victory Medal and honorably discharged as Corporal on July 27,1949. Returning from the service, he went to work at Kimberly Clark for a while before becoming a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 20 years, retiring in the early 1990’s. John enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Maciarz) Kozlowski of Niagara Falls, NY whom he would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on April 22, 2007; sons, Mark (Barbara) Kozlowski of Niagara Falls, NY, John Gary (Sue) Kozlowski of Grand Island, and daughter, Lori (Gary) Arico of Niagara Falls, NY; also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Anna Kozlowski.
There is no prior visitation. Arrangements were through Zajac Funeral Home, Inc., Niagara Falls, NY.



JOHN “JACK” KENAN PRICE
John “Jack” Kenan Price, age 77, of Lewiston NY, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness.
 Jack was born June 28, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Edgar K. and Marion (Bowker) Price. He graduated from DeVeaux Academy in Niagara Falls and went on to Stanford University where he received his B.A. in 1950. On July 1, 1950, he married Lois Woodward, and continued his education at Stanford, receiving his Master of Arts in Journalism in 1952. Jack remained in California and sold real estate before returning to Niagara Falls in 1955 and began working in land development for his father-in-law, Benjamin Woodward. In 1960, he founded Price Development Corporation at 515 Center St. in Lewiston and operated it until his retirement in 1985. One of his projects was building and developing the Villa Apartments on Main St. in Youngstown. Jack was also part owner of WJJL Radio in Niagara Falls, as well as founding Niagara Frontier Cable, the original cable TV company in Niagara Falls.
 Jack was a former member and served on the Vestry of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls. He had also served on the Board of Directors for Niagara University and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Jack was a member of the Niagara Club, the Niagara Falls Country Club, and the Niagara Falls Rotary Club.
 He was predeceased by his wife, Lois, on February 12, 2006. He is survived by a daughter, Wendy Ann Price of Hudson, OH; a son, John Woodward (Martha) Price of Kittery, ME; a granddaughter, Sarah, of Hudson, OH; a sister, Sarah (Henry) Pruden of Saulsalito, CA; and two nieces, Laura Pruden (Robert Brink) and Carolyn (Scott) Dahlman.
 A Memorial Service will be held at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Saturday, January 13, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Patrick Bradley officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in the Lewiston Village Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wings of Serenity House c/o Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY, 14094.





KATHLEEN I.
BEHM



Kathleen I. Behm, age 87 of Grand Island, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at her residence under the loving care of her family and Buffalo Hospice.
Mrs. Behm was born February 17, 1919 in Hannon, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late John and Hattie (Evans) Glover. In 1949 she married Frederick Behm and they lived in Lewiston before moving to Grand Island in 1957.
Kathleen enjoyed cooking, flowers, socializing, and helping her family and friends.
Her husband predeceased her in 1987. She is survived by her sons, John (Nancy) Behm of North Tonawanda and Thomas Behm of Grand Island; two sisters, Phyllis ( Bert) Brown and Patricia Zakrzewski, both of Hamilton, Ontario; two brothers, Jack (Betty) Glover of Dundas, Ontario and Roger Glover of Hamilton, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Joyce S. McEvoy, Doris Glover, and Jean VanderBurgh; and a brother, Blair Glover.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.




NELLIE M.
SCHMIDT KODESKI

Nellie M. Schmidt Kodeski, of Lewiston, NY, died Monday, January 8, 2007, at her home. She was born in Chippawa, Ontario, on June 4, 1914, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Laura (Lennox) Manahan.
She moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1936 and later to Lewiston in 1967. Nellie was a Red Cross volunteer at Memorial Medical Center for over 30 years and a member of the Bell Choir at Riverside Presbyterian Church, the Dorothy Bell Rebekah Lodge of Niagara Falls and the Lewiston Seniors. She was a Brownie and Girls Scout leader and usher at Artpark for many years. Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
She was the wife of the late Leo Kodeski, who died in 2002 and the late James S. Schmidt who died in 1971. Nellie is survived by two daughters, Nancy A. (Lewis) Cabello of Youngstown, NY and  Beth A. (Kim) Cushing of Berthoud, CO; three sisters, Loretta Schmidt of Buffalo, NY, Olive Essex of Barrie, ON and Celia (Bernard) Paquette, of Chippawa, ON;  one sister-in-law of Irene Manahan of Scarbrough, ON; also survived by eight grandchildren, Lewis (Kim) Cabello, II, James (Maria) Cabello, Christina (Shaun) Johnston, Adam (Shanna) Cushing, Sarah (Christian) Delein and Rebekah Cushing, eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James C., Gary R. and Gail I. Schmidt; sister of the late Charles A. Manahan, Marguerite Corbet, Mabel Manahan, Isabel McCredie and Alice Hanna.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Cayuga and South Ninth Streets, LEWISTON, NY, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday, where  services will begin Friday  at 11:15 AM, followed by funeral services at 12:00 PM at the Riverside Presbyterian Church, 84th Street and Lindbergh Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev. Robert Bellingham officiating. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

PATRICIA “PAT” ANN
HANSON
Patricia “Pat” Ann Hanson, 65, of Winona, Minnesota died at her home on January 1, 2007. She was born May 19, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Nellie M. (Cwierley) Abramaitys. Patricia was united in marriage with Cletus A. Hanson in 1959 in Niagara Falls, NY. She was a foster parent for Catholic Charities in assisting and caring for newborn babies awaiting adoption. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as reading and knitting. Pat touched many lives and will be sadly missed.
Pat is lovingly survived by her husband, Cletus of Winona, MN; her children, Renee, Robin and Rick and 4 grandchildren. Her mother, Nellie Abramaitys; a sister, Betty (Ken) Schreiber of Winona, MN; a brother, Fred (Marisa) Abramaitys of Niagara Falls, NY and a sister-in-law, Sandy Abramaitys of Norfolk, VA. She was predeceased in death by her father, Peter Abramaitys, a son, Randy and a brother, Peter Abramitys, Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial was offered on January 4, 2007 at St. John Nepomucene Church in Winona, MN. Contributions in her memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.



RICHARD A. SIERACKI
Richard A. Sieracki, born July 31, 1930 in Buffalo, NY, to Casimer and Julia Sieracki. He passed unexpectedly on January 5, 2007 at his home in Deerfield Beach, FL. Richard was raised and educated in Buffalo, attending East High School and the University of Buffalo. He enjoyed a long and prosperous career focusing and in the China and Glassware Industries. He started his career in research and development, progressed into marketing and subsequently held several manufacturing general manager positions. He capitalized on this degree experience and subsequently forged several unique positions that established him as a leader in his industry.
His illustrious career led him to change residences frequently from Buffalo to Cheektowaga, NY, Amherst, NY, Bardonia, NY, Sepulveda, CA, Vineland, NJ, Mt. Prospect, IL and Poland, OH. His business travels took him world wide from South America to Europe to Asia.
An avid golfer, Richard was a man of high integrity and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A loving and devoted family man, he was predeceased by his wife, Loretta, in 2002, they were married in Wilson, NY on October 23, 1954. He is survived by his son, Eric; his brother, Roger (Kathleen); and his sister, Claudia. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia; and his brother, Ronald (Arleen).
Friends may call Thursday, January 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Zajac Funeral Home, Inc., 319-24th St., cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, January 12th and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 24th and Niagara St., with Rev. Slawomir Siok officiating. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association at 1-800- DIABETES.
