I
n the midst of COVID-19, our collective emotions have
run the gamut. Many of us have felt sadness, grief, lone-
liness, sorrow, boredom, denial, anxiety and fear.
There is, however, one thing that we can all share, and that
is gratefulness; grateful for all the people literally putting
their lives on the line to keep us safe, fed, healthy and active.
The people that we are featuring in this section repre-
sents their professions as a whole. They include doctors,
nurses and nursing home workers, all of whom can never be
thanked enough for the work that they do, for the humanity
that they show.
We are profiling first responders, grocers, janitors, thera-
pists, food service delivery workers, animal shelter workers,
teachers and even musicians who are helping their com-
munities.
There are also others to thank: ministers and other
religious leaders, farmers, trash men, jailers, pharmacy
workers, mechanics, cleaning services, utility workers and
so many more.
In this section we touch on several of our local heroes
and hopefully show how incredibly grateful we are for
them.
We pray for everyone’s safety and hope that as we stay
at home to protect ourselves and others, we are reminded
that our hearts are full of gratitude for all that they do.
We also pray for all of us living through a difficult time.
We are all in this together and we can make it better by
following rules to use safe-distancing, staying home unless
absolutely necessary, and just saying thank you for all the
people who are serving our community.
OUR HEARTS
ARE FULL
A thank you to those who are providing
the services we find so very essential
