John L. Hudson
Nov. 13, 1947 - May 21, 2005

John Lynn Hudson, 57, of Crossville, passed away May 21, 2005. A memorial service was conducted May 25 at Believers Fellowship Church, with Mike Ritzman officiating.
Mr. Hudson was born Nov. 13, 1947 in Bowling Green, OH, the son of John Henry Hudson and Alice Faye Spilker Hudson.
He was a maintenance worker and served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was also a member of Believers Fellowship Church.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Whitzler Hudson of Crossville; sons, Toby Lee Hudson of Crossville and John Lynn Hudson Jr. of Parrisburg, OH; daughter, Heather Marie Hudson of Crossville; grandchildren, Kylie Lynn Brown, Kadiense Danielle Loshbough and Jordan Tyler Chrissy, all of Crossville; brothers, Gary Hudson of Cincinnati, OH and Don Gamby of Grand Rapids, OH; and sisters, Pat Gamby and Sue Gamby of Parrisburg, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Hudson.

Chester J. Kilby
Feb. 11, 1933 - May 25, 2005

Chester James Kilby, 72, passed away May 25, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Terry Barnwell officiating. Interment will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 27, at the funeral home.
Mr. Kilby was born Feb. 11, 1933 in Rhea County, the son of Ivory and Irene (Pelfrey) Kilby.
Born in Crossville, he moved to Ohio in 1957 and returned to Crossville in 1978 where he remained.
He was a friend to everyone who knew him. He was known by all as a very hard worker. He worked in rock quarry until sickness led to his departure. He started and operated various companies throughout his working career, including Triple-K, Kemmer and Kilby Construction, Kilby and Sons Stone Quarry and farming.
He "semi-retired" in 1978 at age 45 when he moved back to Tennessee. He continued to work and before long, he started several enterprises including cutting timber for the sawmill he set up, developing his farm, raising beef and opening several rock quarries. He enjoyed his work.
In recent years, he enjoyed raising goats and spending time on his farm. He enjoyed playing (and teasing) his grandchildren. He leaves many wonderful memories with his children and grandchildren.
He was a most dependable and very generous man, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Midge Kilby of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Jo Ann Kilby of Crossville, Jim and Jane Kilby of North Ridgeville, OH, Larry Kilby of Crossville and Lonnie and Deanie Kilby of Crossville; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Dan Tomlinson of Wakeman, OH, Vickie Smith of Crossville and Rhonda and Doug Clendenon of Jonesborough, TN; grandchildren, J.D. Henry J. Orth
Oct. 11, 1959 - May 17, 2005

Henry Joseph Orth, 45, of Crossville, passed away May 17, 2005. A memorial service was held May 23 from St. Raphael's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Ann Markle officiating.
Mr. Orth was born Oct. 11, 1959 in Oakland, CA, the son of Dorothy Noble and Philip Orth.
He was in the dry wall construction business and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Noble of Crossville; father, Philip Orth of Oakland, CA; and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Daniel Wieczynski of Crossville.

Marion C. Paulsen
June 25, 1922 - May 24, 2005

Marion Catherine (Biederer) Paulsen, 82, of Fairfield Glade, passed away May 24, 2005. A memorial service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Glade on Saturday, June 4, beginning at 10 a.m. with Father Gregory Nuezil officiating.
Mrs. Paulsen was born June 25, 1922 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of John and Barbara (Bohn) Biederer.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Paulsen of Crossville; sons, Steve Paulsen and John Paulsen of Belleville, MI; daughters, Karen Carty of Chelsea, MI and Jeanie Middlebrook of Belleview, MI; and eight grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Harold Biederer; and sisters, Grace Peters and Jeanie Kirp.

Keith E. Worthington
May 22, 2005

Keith Edward Worthington, 70, of Fairfield Glade, passed away May 22, 2005. The family will hold a private service at their home.
Mr. Worthington made old friendships feel like new ones and new friendships feel like old ones. He was constantly entertaining and always making people laugh. He offered his opinion whenever he had the chance.
He was a jazz enthusiast, a crossword puzzle connoisseur and a sports fanatic.
Formerly of Glen Ridge and then Succasunna, NJ, Mr. Worthington retired from a career in sales and business education. He was a member of the Christian Science Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ingrid Worthington; daughter, Victoria Worthington; son, Keith Worthington; sisters, Katheryn Thibodeau of Arizona and Virginia Beimler of Florida; mother-in-law, Anna Hillstrom of New Jersey; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Howard Worthington; and sisters, Grace Meyers and Jeanette Wilhelm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, Crossville, TN; Christian Science Church, Boston, MA; or the American Cancer Society, Atlanta, GA.

Carl M. Sanders
Aug. 15, 1929 - May 18, 2005

Carl Maurice Sanders, called Maurice, grew up in the small farming community of Three-Way, in Madison County, the son of Fred T. and Janie Bell Sanders. He attended Fairview Elementary School, Northside High School and Humboldt High School.
Upon his discharge from the Army, he returned to West Tennessee to raise cotton and pigs with his father and uncle. He married Nancy Phillips and they reared four children on the farm on Sanders BIuff Road in Madison County. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church since childhood and raised his children in that church family. He also joined the Humboldt Lions Club. He was famous for growing the best watermelons in the county.
In 1971, Maurice moved his family to Crossville. The family joined First Baptist Church and was active in Sunday school and choir. Maurice was also a member of Crossville Lions Club and a founding member of Fairfield Glade Lions Club. After moving to Crossville, Maurice took up the game of golf. His friends gave him the nickname "Lefty" because he hit the ball left-handed.
During the 1970s, Lefty became involved in the Cumberland County Playhouse with his children. He first delighted audiences when he took over the role of the "Big Man in the Aisle" in Tennessee, USA. He went on to play important supporting roles of Captain Brackett in South Pacific and Judd in Oklahoma.
In 1982, Lefty and his wife, Nancy, opened Lefty's Barbecue Restaurant on Peavine Rd. Lefty hickory smoked shoulders, ribs and chicken using his own barbecue sauce. Nancy made the fruit cobblers and famous fudge pie. Customers from all over the country brought him baseball caps. Over 1,000 caps hang from the beams in Lefty's BBQ Restaurant.
Lefty had come full circle from raising hogs on a West Tennessee farm to cooking and serving delicious pork to people from all over the world. Many visitors and residents of Cumberland County became regulars at Lefty's and groups and businesses relied on Lefty's BBQ Catering when they wanted to celebrate and have a good time. Lefty entertained customers with jokes, songs, stories of his golf misadventures and performances with the String Bean dancing doll.
During the '80s, when his belly was big and his beard white, he played Santa Claus at Christmas, no make up required! Mrs. Lefty, Nancy Sanders, will keep Lefty's BBQ open.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sanders of Crossville; daughter, Carla Anne Sanders of Hope, Maine; sons, Thomas Lee Sanders of Nashville, William Ivo and wife Laura Sanders, of Dalton, GA and Paul Maurice and wife Peri Sanders, of Cumming, GA; brother, Larry Sanders of Humboldt, TN; sisters, Doris Sanders Marsh of New Johnsonville, TN and Robbie Sanders Black of Dadeville, AL; grandchildren, Brendan and wife Sharon O'Donnell of Moscow, Idaho, Andrew O'Donnell of New York City, NY, Margaret Sanders of Dalton, GA, and Nolan Sanders of Cumming, GA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Sanders Jr.; and sisters, Dot Luckey and Jane Hopper.
Graveside services were held Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Humboldt, TN. Bro. Frank Kemper officiated.
Pallbearers were Rich Sanders, Andy Sanders, Jason Luckey, Bob Phillips, David Phillips and Koonen Luckey.

Mildred Evelyn Grebey, 88, of Dayton, passed away May 17, 2005. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Grebey was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.
Survivors include her sons, James Russell Grebey and Robert Lee Grebey, both of Dayton; daughter, Nancy Jean Finney of Crossville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Grebey.

Lois M. Parsons
Jan. 7, 1911 - May 17, 2005

Lois Marie (Kindred) Parsons, 94, of Crossville, passed away May 17, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 20 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Creston Cemetery. Bro. Randy Roberts officiated.
Mrs. Parsons was born Jan. 7, 1911 in Crossville, the daughter of Oscar and Alice Belle (Price) Kindred.
She was retired from Cumberland Medical Center as a dietitian and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Doris Parsons and Johnny and Jeannie Parsons, all of Crossville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and H.R. Cook of Birmingham, AL and Jo and Jimmy Bratten of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Ginger, Greg, Jackie, James, Brenda, Sandra, Debra, Beth and John Jr.; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and special niece, Linda Bottoms of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Parsons; brother, Lawrence Kindred; sisters, Grace McClain, Jessie Howard; Carrie Akins; Thelma Hall and Kate Parsons; and granddaughter, Tammy.

Cecillia C. Crego
Feb. 15, 1923 - May 17, 2005

Cecillia C. Crego, 82, of Fairfield Glade, passed away May 17, 2005. No services are planned at this time.
Mrs. Crego was born Feb. 15, 1923 in Conway, AR, the daughter of Forest and Augusta Smith Kennett.
She had volunteered for many organizations including the Hospital Grey Ladies and Candy Stripers. She faithfully followed her loving husband in his pipeline career, putting her children in 26 different schools. She enjoyed keeping scrapbooks and shopping yard sales. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Crego of Fairfield Glade; sons and daughter-in-law, Bill Crego Jr. of Fairfield Glade and John and Linda Crego of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Robbie Crego, Christy Jones, Erin Crego, Shannon Arnett and Colleen Crego; and great-grandchildren, Tori Jones, Marty Adams, Brandy Shuster and Hailey, Noah and Hanah Crego.

George R. McDade
Sept. 14, 1928 - May 12, 2005

George Richard McDade, 76, of Crossville, passed away May 12, 2005. Memorial services were conducted May 16 at Knox Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Colley officiating.
Mr. McDade was born Sept. 14, 1928 in Barbourville, KY, the son of Robert Dearborn and Lily Dale Tye McDade.
He was retired as an auto dealer for Universal Garage and was a member of First Christian Church in Crossville. He was also a United States Army veteran with the 1st Cavalry during World War II. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed hunting, collecting stamps and coins. He also loved history.
Survivors include his wife, Sue McDade of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Molly McDade of Dayton, OH, Dann and Jeanne McDade of Calhoun, GA and Chris McDade of Nashville; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Mark Gays of Katy, TX; brother, Robert McDade of Middlesboro, KY; brother-in-law, Billy Dannel of Grandview, TX; sisters-in-law, Billie McDade of Middlesboro, KY and Jo Cadle of Crossville; grandchildren, April Roth, Nicole Brown, Jessica McDade and Benjamin McDade; and great-grandchildren, Arie, Alex and Anna Roth and Maddie, Sadie and River Brown.

Clyde L. Pezold Jr.
Sept. 8, 1934 - May 12, 2005

Clyde Lacey Pezold Jr., 70, passed away May 12, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 9 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Big Lick Cemetery. The Rev. Pete Ullmann and the Rev. Larry Bales officiated, with special music by Kit Peterson.
Mr. Pezold was born Sept. 8, 1934 in Washington, DC.
He lived in the DC area and northern Virginia for 60 years. He worked for many years at Fort Belvoir, VA, and retired from the federal government prior to moving to Crossville 10 years ago.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nancy Carol Vance Pezold; daughters, Krista Pezold of Atlanta and Seana Reilly of Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and April Reilly of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Joshua Fields Reilly of Alexandria, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Robert K. and Molly Pezold of Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law, Sam Reilly of Crossville; five brothers-in-law and their wives; 17 nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who loved him as well.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde L. Pezold Sr. and Gertrude White Pezold.

Donald B. Adams

Donald Burl Adams, 67, of Crossville, passed away May 3, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 5 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Slate Springs Cemetery. Bro. Austin Hamby, Bro. Harold Keagle and Bishop Freddy Conley officiated.
Mr. Adams was born March 17, 1938 in Crossville, the son of Ralph and Amanda Dixon Adams.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Maudie Adams of Crossville; sons, John Weaver, Donald Adams and Gary Adams, all of Crossville; daughter, Betty Brummitt of Crossville; brothers, Danny Adams, Cleo Adams and Dennis Adams, all of Crossville; sisters, Wilda Gibson, Eula Mae Keagle and Wanda Crockett, all of Crossville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James H. Hall Jr.
Sept. 2, 1923 - May 11, 2005

James Harrison Hall Jr., 81, of Crossville, passed away May 11, 2005. Masonic services were held May 13 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted May 14 from the funeral home, with Bro. Scott Johnson officiating. Interment was in Pomona Cemetery with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. Hall was born Sept. 2, 1923 in Dandridge, TN, the son of James H. and Lula (Griffin) Hall Sr.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the military in 1965 after 20 years of service. He served in the United States Army during World War II and in the United State Air Force during the Korean War.
After the military, he worked for Bilbrey Funeral Home for 14 years, Federal Aviation Administration for 13 years and was a Cumberland County road commissioner for eight years.
Survivors include his wife, Lula May (Mifflin) Hall of Crossville; sons, James Larry Hall, Marvin Hall and Stanley Hall, all of Crossville; daughters, Brenda Russell of Crossville, Stella Carr of Crossville, Donna Mize of Waynesville, MO, Doris Hassler of Crossville, Debbie Raleigh of Knoxville, Rosa Hall of Crossville, Melinda Howard of Byrdstown and Melissa Hall of Crossville; brothers, Sanders Griffin Jr. and Brady Griffin of Illinois; 26 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Beulah May Hall; son, James H. Hall III; brother, Albert N. Griffin; and granddaughter, April Russell.

Timothy Odell Cole, 44, of the Chestnut Ridge community, passed away May 10, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 12 from Schubert Funeral Home of Sunbright, with the Rev. Grover Adkins and the Rev. James Ford officiating. Graveside services were held May 13 in Flat Rock Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cole was born Oct. 2, 1960 in Crossville, the son of Odell and Cleta Adkins Cole of Deerlodge.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Kevin Austin of Deerlodge and Donna and David Albright of Pleasant View, TN; nephews, Travis and Tyler Austin, Jonathan, Daniel and Michael Albright; niece, Sarah Albright; stepdaughter, Shannon Clark; and step-grandson, Darvin.

Norma F. Hargis
May 22, 1937 - May 9, 2005

Norma Faye Hargis, 67, of Crossville, passed away May 9, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 12 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Hyder Cemetery. Bro. Gary Howard officiated.
Mrs. Hargis was born May 22, 1937 in Crossville, the daughter of Mattie Lou Brookhart.
She was a nanny in child care and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her son, Lynn Hargis of Crossville; daughter, Margaret Mullinax of Crossville; sisters, Georgia Gunter and Helen Findley of Crossville; brothers, Boyd Kearley and Venable Kearley of Crossville; and grandchildren, Adrienne Tabor, Amber Mullinax, Jaime Grimsley and Luke Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hargis; mother, Mattie Lou (Brookhart) Kearley; and sisters, Christine Davis and Nadine Kearley.

Edna Sue Newberry Meadows, 59, of Knoxville, formerly of Crossville, passed away May 10, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 13 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Bakers Cemetery in Dorton. Bill Smith officiated.
Mrs. Meadows was born Jan. 18, 1946 in Overton County, the daughter of Bennie and Auda Taylor Newberry.
She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Rose Worsham, Thelma Rollins, Tina Worsham and Teresa Wilson, all of Crossville; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; father, Bennie Newberry; brother, James Newberry of Crossville; sisters, Gerri Matthews of Crossville; and stepdaughters, Sharon Marine of Sevierville, Kathy Walton of Maryville and Donna Meadows of Crossville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Meadows; son, Dwayne Newberry; and mother, Auda Newberry.

Betty J. Beatty

Betty June (South) Beatty, 67, of Crossville, passed away May 4, 2005. A memorial service was conducted May 6 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Brian Smith officiating.
Mrs. Beatty was born March 25, 1938 in Davidson, TN, the daughter of the late James Carlos and Clara (Smith) South.
She was known by her grandchildren as Nene.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kem and Jimmy Woody and Paige and Brian Matthews, all of Crossville; brothers, Roy South of Crossville and Coy South of Crawford; sisters, Frances Allen of Monterey and Sue Eldridge of Crossville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lula M. Bolin
May 29, 1918 - April 29, 2005

Mrs. Bolin was born May 29, 1918, in Sparta, TN, the daughter of Samuel and Mary Lou (Lewis) Kerley.

Nora Jean Norris Hubbard, 82, of Crossville, passed away May 5, 2005. Funeral services were conducted May 7 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Thomas Springs Cemetery. Joe Campbell officiated.
Mrs. Hubbard was born Sept. 6, 1922 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Abb and Mary Ellen Norris.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Emmett Hubbard, Edward Hubbard and Ronald Hubbard, all of Crossville; daughters, June Webb and Eula Parham of Crossville; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Raymond Norris of Crossville.

Katherine Grace Palmer, 18, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passe away April 27, 2005. She was born Aug. 5,1986, in Fort Walton Beach to Dennis P. and Kathy Freeman Johnson.
Katie was a life-long resident of Ponce de Leon. She was Baptist by faith and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon where she was active in the choir and youth group. She graduated from Ponce de Leon High School with high honors in 2004. She was active in many clubs at the school, especially FFA and Beta Club. She was attending Okaloosa-Walton Community College in DeFuniak Springs.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, W.R. Freeman, and paternal grandfather, Paul Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmothers, Katherine Freeman of Crossville and Juanita Johnson of DeFuniak Springs; aunts and uncles, Willene Freeman of Sparta, TN, Karen Freeman and W.R. Freeman Jr., both of Crossville, W.E. Freeman Sr. of Paincourtville, LA, K.R. Freeman of O'Fallon, MO, and Mike Consiglio and wife, Debby, of Ocala, FL.
Memorial services were held April 30 at the First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon. The Revs. Greg Alford and Jesse Spears officiated, and Clary-Glenn Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs directing the memorial.

Mr. Sapp was born Oct. 25, 1946 in Cumberland County, the son of Franklin Sapp and Laura Lillian Bolin Sapp.
He was employed as an automotive repairman in Pontiac and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Sue Ann K. Lansford
July 8, 1921 - April 27, 2005

Sue Ann Kemmer Lansford, 83, of Crossville, passed away April 27, 2005. Funeral services were conducted April 30 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Beasley officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Lansford was born July 8, 1921 in Grassy Cove, the daughter of James A. and Nannie Wilson Kemmer.
She atteneded Grassy Cove Elementary School and was a graduate of Pleasant Hill Academy and the George Peabody Teachers' College, where among other activities she was a member of Alpha Psi Omega dramatic fraternity. Following college, she was a copywriter for three Nashville radio stations and later taught school in both Cumberland County and Hamilton County.
She lived in Signal Mountain for over 20 years where she was involved in a number of educational and community activities, including serving as president of various parent-teacher organizations, leader of a number of youth Scout troops and president of the Signal Mountain Garden Club. She was also active in the founding stages of the Signal Mountain Dogwood Festival. After returning to Crossville in the 1970s, she served as a volunteer tutor and was in the motorcycle business for over 20 years. She was an avid golfer and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin G. Lansford; daughters, Virginia Snider of McLean, VA and Sue L. Jones of Germantown, TN; sons, Gaines Lansford, James Lansford and Scott Lansford, all of Crossville; sister, Virginia Rowell of Crossville; brother, George Kemmer of Grassy Cove; grandchildren, Barney Snider, Kristin Jones, Foster Jones IV and Scott Lansford Jr.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Andrew Kemmer Jr., T.J. Kemmer, Dave Kemmer and Bill Kemmer; and sisters, Mildred Scott and Jane Hale.

Survivors include his wife, Patrica Gracy of Rossville, GA: daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Rich Morris of Orlando, FL and Jamie and Tony Sipe of Cleveland, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Barbara Gracy of Ringgold, GA; brother, Tommy Gracy of Red Bank, TN; sisters, Juanita Boston of Red Bank and Camilla Wyatt of Crossville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Gracy; sister, Loraine Moncier; and brother, Gene Gracy.

Eddie Hodge
May 12, 1932 - April 24, 2005

Eddie Hodge, 72, passed away April 24, 2005. Funeral services were conducted April 27 at the Catoosa Church of Christ, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
Mr. Hodge was born May 12, 1932 in Davidson, TN, the son of Beecher and Beulah Hodge.
He grew up in the Crossville area and attended school at Baker's Crossroad and Cumberland County High School.
Retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 24 years, he retired from the city of Tulsa after 27 years as a city civil engineering inspector with the Water/Sewer Department. He was a member of the Catoosa Church of Christ and served as an elder in the Church of Christ for 20 years at both Garnett Church of Christ and most recently at the Catoosa Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hodge of the home; sons, Bruce Hodge, Bryan Hodge and his wife, Lana, all of Owasso, OK, and Edward Hodge and his wife, Kim, of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Susan Breske and her husband, Glen, of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Christopher Hodge, Elizabeth Hodge, Jessica Breske, Benjamin Hodge and Nicholas Hodge; brother, Beecher Hodge Jr.; sisters, Katherine Hinote of Bay Minette, AL, Pauline Sisco of Crossville and Cleda Eller of Crossville.
He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather and servant to the Lord.

Mary Miley
April 17, 1934 - April 24, 2005

Mary (Farmer) Miley, 71, of Crossville, passed away April 24, 2005. Funeral services were conducted April 28 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Wade Webster officiating. Interment was in New Home Cemetery.
Ms. Miley was born April 17, 1934, in Carbon Hill, AL, the daughter of Creston and Ida (Blaylock) Farmer.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jack Johnston of Rockwood; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Sonya Miley of Rincon, GA and Mark and Stephanie Miley of Crossville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Fisher; and grandchildren, Aaron Johnston and Isiah Miley.
Pallbearers were Benjamin Johnston, Anthony Miley, Jerry Redwine, Jerry Hedgecoth, Doc Staley and Mike Ritzman.
Honorary pallbearer was James Dakota Miley.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
