James Edward Blackwood, 64, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 20, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 23 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Big Lick Cemetery. Elder Kenneth Swiger and Elder David Truan officiated.
Mr. Blackwood was born Nov. 16, 1938, in Florence, AL, the son of Lloyd Cyle and Lucille Brockwell Blackwood.
He was a commissioner with South Cumberland Utility District, serving eight years as vice president. He was a charter member of the Seventh-day Christian Assembly of Knoxville.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Blackwood of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Edward and Heather Blackwood of South Carolina; daughter, Victoria Blackwood of Fairfield Glade; father and his wife, Lloyd and Barbara Blackwood of Knoxville; mother, Lucille Fry of Oak Ridge, TN; brothers, Lloyd Jr. and Janie Blackwood of Hawthorne, FL, Dennis and Audrey Blackwood of Florida, and John and Linda Blackwood of Ohio; sisters and brother-in-law, Diane Blackwood of Knoxville, and Pat and Henry West of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Raven Blackwood and Jett Blackwood; and nieces and nephews, Emily Blackwood, John Blackwood, Holly Blackwood, James Michael Blackwood, Alexanda West and Stuart West.

Rocky Lee Detamore, 55, of Grandview, TN, passed away Nov. 16, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 20 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Reed Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Armour officiated.
Mr. Detamore was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of Bob and Jean Smolder.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Detamore of Grandview; son, Robert Detamore of Grandview; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Kenneth Hillis of Grandview; father and mother, Bob and Jean Smolder of Jacksonville, FL; brother, John Smolder of Jacksonville; sister, Judy De Pue of Tennessee; and eight grandchildren.

Jeffrey was born May 25, 2001, in Knoxville, TN, the son of Jeffrey Wallace Flynn Sr. and Jaime Renee Clark.

Ms. Goldston was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Norphlet, AR, the daughter of Robert and Mittie Litton Campbell.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Jeanette Martha Horvath, 77, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 20, 2002. A memorial service was held Nov. 23 at Crossville First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carolyn Bingham and the Rev. Ken Allen officiating. Ms. Horvath was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Marinette, WI, the daughter of Peter and Mary Norlin Liljestrand.
Survivors include her sons, Peter Nichols and Charles Nichols, both of Crossville, daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dano Anderson, and Christine and John Schmitt, all of Crossville; sisters, Doris Feher, Marion Carlson and Joyce Christiansen, all of Marinette, WI; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Thomas S. Jensen

Thomas Sigurd Jensen, 80, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 23, 2002. A memorial service was conducted Nov. 24 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merlin Sepmeyer officiating.
Mr. Jensen was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Emmitsburg, IA, the son of Hans Johannes and Laura Mortensen Jensen.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, seeing 23 days of combat during 3 1/2 years of service, and was a lifetime member of the 63rd Infantry. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Jensen of Fairfield Glade; and son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Pamela Jensen of Vicksburg, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Danya Jensen.

Howard R. Loden

Howard Ray Loden, 75, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 20, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 23 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery. Bro. Mitch Meyers officiated.
Mr. Loden was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Crossville, the son of Benjamin and Naomi Dyal Loden.
He was a miner for Franklin Limestone Co., and was of the Protestant faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Reed Loden of Crossville; daughter, Sheila Howard of Crossville; sister, Pauline Wilson of Crossville; brothers, Dean Loden of Crossville, James Loden of Clarkrange and Clifford Loden of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Ray Loden; brothers, Johnny Loden, Glen Loden and Gene Loden; and sisters, Lucille Hayes, Ellen Bilbrey and Clara Bilbrey.

Russell H. Meyers

Russell Henry Meyers, 78, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 17, 2002. A memorial service was conducted Nov. 21 at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Max Mayo and the Rev. Lanita Pride officiating.
Mr. Meyers was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Boston, MA, the son of Henry and Edna Thompson Meyers.
He was a sales representative for American Motors, and was a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Sheppard Meyers of Fairfield Glade; sons, David Meyers of Alton, IL, and Greg Meyers of Roanoke, VA; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Norris was born June 13, 1943, in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Lester and Myrtle Wilson Houston.

Wilburn Rollo Welch, 85, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 17, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 20 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. Mike Garrett officiated.
Mr. Welch was born May 15, 1917, in Cumberland County, the son of William Jessie and Vera Shelly Mansfield Welch.
He was a stone quarry broker, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Roger Holloway of Crossville; niece, Ruby Nealon of Crossville; sister, Lora Cliburn of Crossville; and good friend, Charlie Bowling of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Christine Welch; brothers, Grady Welch and Delmus Welch; and sister, Ruby Sherrill.

Jessie R. York
Oct. 8, 1930 - Nov. 26, 2002
Jessie R. York, 72, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 26, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 30 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., with burial in Wolf River Cemetery in Pall Mall, TN. Homer York officiated.
Mr. York was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Pall Mall, the son of Albert and Minnie Ellen Crouch York.
He was a retired military serviceman, having served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He served during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal, and earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal in Korea. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jerry Dunaway; sons, James York, David York, Johnny York and Dwayne York; sisters, Flossie Earls and Alberta Choate; brothers, Jay York and Noble York; and grandchildren, Jessica York, Tiffany York, Joshua York, Dakotah York, Crystal York, Teneaka York and Jennifer Ruebusch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill York and Donald York; and sisters, Viola York and Mary Lane Upchurch.
An Honor Guard detail from Fort Campbell, KY served as pallbearers, and presented the flag, gave a 21-gun salute and played "Taps." Members of the DAV were also in attendance.

Mildred A. Wallick

Mildred A. Wallick, 92, of Crab Orchard, passed away Nov. 30, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 4 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery. Bro. Ralph Reagan officiated, with special music by The Joyful Echoes.
Mrs. Wallick was born Feb. 7, 1910, in Crab Orchard, the daughter of Boat and Hattie Emaline Lively Reed.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her sister, Ova Sherrill of Crab Orchard; and two nephews.
Pallbearers were Ernest Sherrill, Ricky Sherrill, Danny Sherrill, Dwayne Nale, Mike Nelson, Harold Nelson, Ronnie Brady and Richard Sherrill.

Elizabeth J. White
April 2, 1930 - Nov. 29, 2002
Elizabeth Joan White, 72, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 29, 2002. A memorial service was conducted Dec. 2 at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Max Mayo and the Rev. Lanita Pride officiating.
Mrs. White was born April 2, 1930, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Alvie and Rachel Gibbs Boswell.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. She attended Indiana University and studied speech therapy.
She and her husband, Harold, were married in July 1949, and settled in Brownsburg, IN, where they raised four sons. She was active in Brownsburg Christian Church and many other organizations. They moved to Port Huron, MI, in 1980, where they resided until they retired to Fairfield Glade in 1990.
While in Fairfield Glade, Mrs. White was active in the Methodist Church, where she served as Shepherd leader and participated in Circle, Crafters, Hope Scholarship and the bereavement committee.
She also belonged to Fairfield Glade Ladies Club, Fairfield Glade Garden Club, Gideons Auxiliary and ushered for the Cumberland County Playhouse.
Survivors include her husband, Harold L. White of Fairfield Glade; sons, Jeff White of Spencer, IN, William White of Chicago, IL, Mark White of Brownsburg, IN, and Neal White of Avon, IN; and 10 grandchildren.

Marie Alta Goss Binette, 71, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 24, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 26 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery. Bro. Ricky Graves officiated.
Mrs. Binette was born April 21, 1931, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Charles W. and Nora Sherrill Turner.
She was a machine operator for Carter's Ink. Co., and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Binette of Crossville; daughter, Patricia Marie White of Crossville; sons and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Brenda Goss, Billy Goss and Gary Goss, all of Crab Orchard; stepdaughter, Linda Beers of Allentown, PA; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Lester Turner, and Roy and Norma Turner, all of Crab Orchard; and sisters and brother-in-law, Opal Willene and Freddy Stooksbury of Crossville and Jewelene Smith of Crab Orchard.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Goss; and brother, Billy Joe Turner.

Bobbie Jo S. Ellsworth

Bobbie Jo Stokes Ellsworth, 67, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 30, 2002. No services are planned.
Mrs. Ellsworth was born March 1, 1935, in Tullahoma, TN, the daughter of William and Cora Parham Stokes.
She was retired, having owned and operated her own day care center in Tullahoma. She was an avid community volunteer and loving mother. She was active with the Senior Citizens, and volunteered at Cumberland Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Dickenson Ellsworth; daughter, Sally Armstrong; sons, Robert Benedict and Eric Benedict; and grandchildren, Richard Buckner, Robert Dean Benedict III and April Benedict.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Odie Griffin, 81, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 1, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 2 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Graveside committal was held Dec. 3 at Mayland Cemetery.
Mr. Griffin was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Cumberland County, the son of Lee and Parlie E. Edmonds Griffin.
He was a heavy equipment operator, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Rose Marie Seip of Monterey, TN; son, Ronald Eugene Griffin of Crossville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Griffin of Crossville.
He was preceded his wife, Clara Allene Beard Griffin.

Ann M.C. Hamrick
Ann Miles Callis Hamrick, 69, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Molly Miles.
She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Nursing. She was active in several organizations while her children were growing up, and then returned to nursing in 1974 where she specialized in coronary care nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary's until her retirement.
Survivors include her children, Cathy Callis, Sandy Callis, Jim Callis and his wife, Maira, and Charlie Callis; four grandchildren; sister, Betty Miles Ivey; one niece; and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wellness Center of Knoxville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy., Knoxville.

Richard A. Snowgold

Richard A. Snowgold, 83, of Bradenton, FL, and Crossville, TN, passed away Nov. 27, 2002. A private family service and interment will be held at Potter Cemetery, Seneca Township, MI.
Mr. Snowgold was born Nov. 19, 1919, in Davenport, IA, the son of Anna and Frank Snowgold.
He was employed by Chrysler-Introl Division in Ann Arbor, MI, for 38 years, retiring in 1975. He was a Master and lifetime member of the Livingston County Masonic Lodge #76, a 33rd Degree Mason and a member of the Valley of Detroit Temple, a Shriner, board secretary for Demolay, member of the American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24 and Cumberland County Elks. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Snowgold; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandra Snowgold; stepchildren and their spouses, Carole and Frank Thierry, Barbara and Ronald Newman, and Bruce and Vickie Maslin; two grandsons; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Richard Bowden; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters; three brothers; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Harold Jacobs; and stepson, Kevin Maslin.

Newton D. Walker Jr.

Newton Duggins Walker Jr., 85, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 30, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 3 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. The Rev. Carleton Thackston officiated.
Mr. Walker was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Cumberland County, the son of Newton D. Sr. and Nettye Rose Walker.
He was an electrician, and a member of Crossville First United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his brothers, Vann S. Walker and Robert R. Walker, both of Crossville; sisters, Evelyn McDonough of Nashville, and Louise Walker and Julia Southerland, both of Crossville; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Mooneyham Walker; son, John Thomas Walker; and sister, Nettye Sue Self.
Pallbearers were Mr. Walker's nephews, John Walker, Scott Walker, Tim Walker, Hugh Walker, Neil Southerland and Larry Dyer.

Richard W. Walker
July 15, 1928 - Dec. 1, 2002
Richard William Walker, 74, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 1, 2002. Funeral services with full military honors will be conducted today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Smyrna, TN. Father Richard Gagnon will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Smyrna.
Mr. Walker was born July 15, 1928, in Cloverport, KY, the son of John Henry and Catherine Elizabeth Ryan Walker.
He was retired after 20 years from the U.S. Air Force, and was a retired rehabilitation counselor after 18 years from the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Crossville, and a former member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Smyrna.
Survivors include his wife, Dot Smith Walker; sons, David Walker and Greg Walker, both of Crossville; daughter, Sandy L. Wood of North Augusta, SC; granddaughter, Heather McCoy of Augusta, GA; and brother, John Franklin Walker of Lebanon, TN.

Lloyd J. Weingarden
Lloyd J. Weingarden, 75, of Fairfield Glade, TN, and Tampa, FL, passed away Nov. 14, 2002. Interment was at Beth El Memorial Park Cemetery.
Before retiring, he spent his life in the Detroit area. He was vice president of McKinley Corporation of Ann Arbor, MI, and managed shopping centers and office buildings. He was a former president of the Institute of Real Estate Management, Detroit Chapter.
During his retirement, he was an active member of the Crossville Kiwanis Club. He was also instrumental in creating a Jewish presence in the Crossville area, by helping to build and support a small Jewish group called the Upper Cumberland Jewish Community.
Mr Weingarden is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kathleen Weingarden of West Bloomfield, MI; son-in-law, Paul Anderberg of Crossville; sister, Marlene Bez of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Zachary Weingarden, Gregory Weingarden and Paul Weingarden; sister-in-law, Elaine Weingarden of Detroit; and brother-in-law, Fred Menders of Commerce Township. He was the dear father of the late Terri Weingarden, and brother of the late Eugene Weingarden and Stanley Weingarden.

Mr. Kuoni was born May 17, 1924, in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles Francis and Nellie Minerva Warner Kuoni.
He was a photographic developer in the commercial photography industry, and was a member of the United Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Adel Schmidt Kuoni; and sons and daughter-in-law, Joel and Sur Kuoni, Randall Kuoni and Greg Kuoni.

Mr. Blood was born Nov. 14, 1931, in York, NE, the son of Nelson M. and Lomyza Powell Blood.
He owned his own fertilizer company, Seaborn Plant Foods, in Adamsville, TN, and was also a professor at Louisiana State University. He served as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in the Korean War, flying an F86 Sabre fighter jet. He received his Ph.D. and master's degrees from LSU. He was, at one time, a member of the Masonic Sunflower Lodge in York, NE.
Survivors include his son, Melvin Blood of Durand, MI; grandson, Jason Don Blood of LaVergne, TN; granddaughter, Angelita Blood of LaVergne; and cousin, Tom Larson of Texas.

Mr. Long was born July 19, 1912, in Hinesville, GA, the son of Harley and Eula Mae Bennett Long.
He was a foreman with the Street Department of the City of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was a loving husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his wife of 68 years, Carolyn Long. He was an active member of the Christian Church of the Cumberlands, and was very dedicated to the building plans of the new church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn W. Burba Long of Crossville; grandson, Douglas Morey of North Carolina; great-grandson, Derek Hicks; special "chosen" grandsons, Stuart Hale of Crossville, and Charles Earhart and Robert Earhart, both of Bristol, TN; many nieces and one nephew.

Dr. Robert D. Snyder

Dr. Robert D. Snyder, 92, of the Glade Creek community, passed away Dec. 14, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 17 from the chapel of Horner Funeral Home, with Dr. Charles McCaskey officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Dr. Snyder was born July 10, 1910, in Dayton, OH, the son of Darwin John and Minnie Debra Snyder.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati Medical School, and served as chief of staff and chief general vascular surgeon at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH, until his retirement.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. During World War II, Lt. Col. Snyder served as chief of surgical service in surgical field hospitals in France, Germany and Holland. He saw action in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Montgomery County Society, was an Ohio State Medical Society Diplomat, was a member of the American Board of Surgery, and was an American College of Surgeons Fellow.
Survivors include his son, H. Richard Snyder of the Glade Creek community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Harper Snyder.

A native of Akron, OH, Mr. Novkov was a resident of Fairfield Glade for 17 years before moving to the Alexian Health Center 5 years ago. He was former president of Crossville Rubber Products and Schlegel Manufacturing in Maryville, TN. He was a veteran of the Army and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Lillie Maude Sherrill, 86, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 15, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 18 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Linary Cemetery. Bro. Wade Webster officiated.
Mrs. Sherrill was born March 9, 1916, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Charles and Lou Houston Bristow.
She was a cook, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Sherrill, Dexter Sherrill, Waymon Sherrill and David Sherrill, all of Crossville; daughters, Elizabeth Manning, Jeannett Hale, Mary Lou Rector, Martha Reagan and Margaret Hayward, all of Crossville, and Muriel Vanette of Nashville; 38 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Kate Durham of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Sherrill.
Pallbearers were Mrs. Sherrill's grandsons, Mario Vanette, Tony Sherrill, Gregory Sherrill, Scott Hale, Bryan Sherrill, James Rector, Jerry Reagan and J.D. Rector.

James "Jim" Richard Thompson, 63, of Crab Orchard, passed away Dec. 9, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 12 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery. Bro. J.D. Carnes and Bro. Scott White officiated.
Mr. Thompson was born March 9, 1939, in Crab Orchard, the son of Richard and Grace McDaniel Thompson.
He was an environmental specialist, and a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Geisendorff Thompson of Crab Orchard; sons, Scott Thompson of Jackson, MS, and David Thompson of Houston, TX; daughters, Tina Brewster of Houston and Kathy Johnson of Ellicott City, MD; five grandchildren; brothers, William Thompson of Keystone Heights, FL, Joe Thompson of Atlanta, GA, and Vinson Thompson of Raleigh, NC; and sister, Jean Wyatt of Dayton, OH.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henley Thompson; and sister, Marie Wright.

Gladys A. Woody, 84, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 21, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 22 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, with burial in Bowman Cemetery. Donald Wattenbarger officiated.
Mrs. Woody was born May 7, 1918 in Crossville, the daughter of John Henry and Mandy Keith.
She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her sons, Don, Dillard, James and Carly Woody, all of Crossville; daughter, Mildred Dunbar of Crossville; brother, Cordell Keith of Cookeville, TN; sisters, Mary Dickey of Florida, Bessie Dunbar of Cookeville, TN, and Martha Edwards of Dickson, TN; ten grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Nelson Woody and two sons, Nelson and William Roy Woody.

Diana Sue Hammons, 29, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Dec. 21, 2002. Funeral services were conducted today (Friday) at the Chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Harold Robinson officiated. Music was provided by The Brown Brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Lillie Irene Hammons; son, Michael Boyd Hammons; mother, Wilma Hammons; sister and brother-in law, Irene and Keith Selby; nephew, Tommy Selby; a host of aunts and uncles; and a special friend, Kenny Jones.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Boyd Hammons, and her grandparents, Fred and Flonnie Campbell and Tim and Lillie Hammons.

Charles C. Phipps, 83, of Cherokee St. Harpster, OH, passed away Dec. 25, 2002. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 28 at Harpster United Methodist Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, OH. The Rev. David Rohrer will be officiating.
Mr. Phipps was born June 3, 1919 in Isolene, TN, the son of Mack and Lula Burnett Phipps.
He was a maintenance superintendent for Glen Gery Brick Corp in Caledonia, OH where we worked for 27 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World World II, a member of Harpster United Methodist Church, member of American Legion Post #225, member of the Marion County Fish & Game Club, NRA lifetime member and he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Beaty; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and JoAnn Phipps of Toledo, OH; daughters and sons-in-law, Larry and Linda Bard and Robert and Deborah Michener, all of Harpster, OH; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Esta Cornett of Sun City, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Bricely; brothers, Tommy, Winley, and Cecil (George) Phipps; and sisters, Ethel, Elza, and Edna.

Mr. Weaver was born June 7, 1916 in Indiana.

Mrs. Bryant was born in Fentress County, TN, the daughter of Richard and Ada York Clark.
She was a housewife and of the Methodist faith.

Martha R. Chiappetta

Martha Chiappetta, 55, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 24, 2002. A memorial service will be held Jan. 4 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation. Bro. Larry Echols and Bro. Chuck Terry will officiate.
Mrs. Chiappetta was born July 22, 1947, in Valdosta, GA, the daughter of William and Mildred Thompson Mercer. She was raised in St. Augustine, FL. She married Arthur "Chip" Chiappetta on March 12, 1998, and moved to Crossville March 12, 2002.
She loved gardening, flowers, landscaping, mowing and interior decorating. She also enjoyed watching her husband play golf. Baptized in 1977, she was very active in the local Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. After a six-year bout with cancer, she will be remembered by all who knew her for her bubbling laughter, kindness to all, and how much she loved life. She was an encouragement to all.

I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness. For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, the One saying to you, "Do not be afraid. I myself will help you."

Mrs. Dunaway was born Oct. 27, 1959, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Newton Garland and Mary Lou Cox Dillard.

Mrs. Jernigan was born June 14, 1912, in Putnam County, TN, the daughter of Henry and Pauline Madewell Norris.
She was a waitress at the Cumberland Mountain State Park Restaurant and was a member of Homestead Baptist Church.
Survivors include her nieces, Janice Forsythe of Crossville and Juanita Doughterty of Dayton, OH; great-nieces, Heather Hamilton of Crossville and Christy Sharp of Kentucky; great-nephew, Jason Hancock of Crossville; and sister-in-law, Dimple Norris of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benton M. Jernigan.
