Cyril Joseph Angemeer, 75, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 17,
2001. A memorial service was held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church,
with Father Patrick Brownell officiating. Burial was in Queen
of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray, PA.
Mr. Angemeer was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Finleyville, PA, the
son of Charles and Mary Kuchinic Angemeer.
He was a mason.
Survivors include his wife, Marybelle Angemeer of Crossville;
son, William Angemeer of Nashville; daughters, Sondra Moore of
Houston, PA, and Susan Anderson and Sharon Despines, both of
Pittsburgh, PA; brother, James Angemeer of Mesa, AZ; sister,

Donald Edwin Luther

Donald Edwin Luther, 66, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov.
28, 2001. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, Dec.
7 at 11 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfield
Glade, with Pastor Weeks officiating.
Mr. Luther was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Flint, MI, the son of
Harold and Helen Luther.
He was president of his Flint Technical High School senior class
in 1953, and graduated from General Motors Institute with a bachelor's
degree in mechanical engineering in 1958. His career with General
Motors spanned 34 years in various managerial positions, mostly
within the Chevrolet Division. Following retirement from General
Motors, Mr. Luther managed and engineered the installation of
air bag systems internationally for Allied Signal Safety Restraint
Systems for eight years. Until his death he operated his own
consulting business, servicing several companies with personnel
training and quality systems improvement, using Six Sigma principles.
An avid supporter of the game of golf, Mr. Luther was a perpetual
member of the USGA and made several attempts at qualifying for
the U.S. Senior Open. Among his achievements in many leagues
and tournaments was winning the Oakland University Men's Club
Championship in 1984 in Rochester, MI.
He moved to Fairfield Glade in 1999, where he was a member of
the Lions Club, and of the choir at Christ Evangelical Lutheran
Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Salisbury Luther of Fairfield
Glade; mother, Helen Luther Marshall of Phoenix, AZ; son, Scott
Luther of Romeo, MI; stepdaughters, Amanda McNeill and Roslyn
McNeill, both of Knoxville, and Susannah McNeill of Cincinnati,
OH; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deanna and Del Hatley of Alton,
IL, Nancy and Bob Zwick of Phoenix, AZ; father- and mother-in-law,
the Rev. Darwin and Marilyn Salisbury of Petoskey, MI; sisters-in-law,
Debbie Salisbury of San Diego, CA, Conda Salisbury of Grand Rapids,
MI, and Lonna Woodard and her husband, Brian, and children, Brittany
and Brent, all of Petoskey, MI; and step-grandsons, Tyler McNeill
and Shane Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Luther; and son,
Michael Luther.

Cecil Dalton Melton, 68, of the Muddy Pond community, passed
away Nov. 28, 2001. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 1 from
the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey, with interment in
Wilson Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Wright, the Rev. Herbert Hollars
and the Rev. Glenn Murphy officiated.
Mr. Melton was born March 27, 1933, in Overton County, TN, the
son of Sherman Melton and Martha Hollars Melton Hall.
He was a retired factory worker. He had worked with Nichols and
File, Indiana Glass in Indiana and at Bennett's in Cookeville.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Darryl
Miller of the Muddy Pond community; son and daughter-in-law,
Darrell and Linda Melton of the Muddy Pond community; sisters,
Pearl Beaty of Monterey and Willma Braddcocks of Crossville;
and brothers, Carl Melton of Cookeville and Haskell Melton and
Earl Melton, both of Monterey.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Garrett and
Lucille Clark; and two brothers, Dewey Melton and Jesse Melton.

the Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Northrup was born Jan. 10, 1906, in Morgan County, TN, the
daughter of John and Eliza Hall.

Burristown community of Jackson County, TN.
Mr. Taylor was born April 10, 1926, in Tennessee, the son of
John Horace and Sarah Maude Smith Taylor.
He was a retired carpenter, and a resident of the Mayland community
of Cumberland County.

Ms. Troglin was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Cumberland County.
She was a retired seamstress for Hills Department Store, and
a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was active in First
Baptist Church for many years.

Martha Hamby Chilikos, 77, of Camarillo, CA, passed away Nov.
8, 2001. Her cremains will be interred at Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens in Camarillo at a later date.
Mrs. Chilikos was born July 18, 1924, in Crossville, the daughter
of Jule and Ruth Hamby.
She and Nick Chilikos were married in Owosso, MI, on Oct. 14,
1950, and resided there for 14 years, where she worked at Auto-Lite.
Upon moving to California, she worked at Litton Industries, Woodland
Hills, for a few years until she retired.
Survivors include her husband, Nick Chilikos of Camarillo, CA;
sisters, Mildred Cox, Mabel Barnwell and Melba Barnwell, all
of Crossville; brother-in-law and his wife, John and Betty Chilikos
of Ocala, FL; sister-in-law, Julie Voulgaris of Owosso, MI; and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jule and Ruth Hamby;

Mr. Harris was born June 29, 1929, in Calahan, FL, the son of
Lee and Agnes Hassler Harris.
He was self-employed. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean
War, and was awarded a Commendation Ribbon for Meritorious Service.

He was a member of Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club and Edgewood
Country Club in Suffield, CT.

Mr. Beeson was born Aug. 25, 1920, in Winston-Salem, NC, the
son of DeWitt and Margie Willard Beeson.
He received an industrial engineering degree from Georgia Tech,
and had careers as a sales executive with Alcoa, and as an instructor
and area director with Tennessee State Area Voc-Tech Schools.
He was a member of the Village United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Cox Beeson of Hot Springs Village;
son, Mark Henry Beeson of Denver, CO; daughter, Amy Beeson Felgar
of Portsmouth, NH; stepsons, Bill Wilkes of Memphis, TN, John

Mr. Kemmer was born Oct. 24, 1930, in the Grassy Cove community
in Cumberland County, the son of Robert and Mildred Kemmer.
He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam
wars, with 21 years of service.

Mr. Myers was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Cumberland County, the son
of Ray Oliver and Ada Nichols Myers.
He was a school teacher at Voc-Tech, and of the Methodist faith.

son, Scott Myers of Crossville; daughter, Kim Myers of Crossville,

Mr. Simpson was born Aug. 12, 1923, in McMinn County, TN, the
son of Floyd and Velma Hutsell Simpson.
He was retired from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, working
in the Instrumentation and Control Division for 35 years. He
served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Threat
in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, and a charter
member of the Farragut Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Joe and
Sandra Simpson of Lenoir City, TN, and Jim and Sandi Simpson
of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Mark Robbins
of Farragut; brothers, Nelson Simpson of Athens, TN, and Milton
Simpson of Niota, TN; sisters, Helen Capizzi of Chicago, IL,
and Nell Anderson of Athens; grandchildren, Andrew Simpson, Natalie

Ian Hannington, 84, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Dec. 6, 2001.

Mr. Hannington was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Glasgow, Scotland,
the son of John and Mary Brown Hannington.
He was a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he obtained
his master's degree in business administration and was a member
of Delta Sigma Chi. An accounting superintendent at Ford Motor
Company, he retired in 1979, relocating from the Detroit area
to Tennessee.
He was a member of several area organizations, including the
High-Noon Masonic Club, the Shriners, golf enthusiasts "The
Idiots," and was a founding member of the Fairfield Glade
Hiking Club. He was a director on the Fairfield Glade Community
Club Board, and served as an election supervisor. He designed
a three-level home of redwood for himself and his wife, on a
rocky slope overlooking a promontory in Fairfield Glade.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Bernice Hannington; and
children, Mary Lee Hannington of Detroit, and Ian Douglas Hannington
of West Bloomfield, MI.

Howard R. Siggelko, 71, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Dec.
11, 2001. A memorial service will be conducted today (Friday)
at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Glade Community Church, with Pastor Dale
Marshall officiating.
Mr. Siggelko was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Rochester, NY, the son
of Edgar and Mabel Siggelko.
He was a mechanical engineer who graduated from Georgia Institute
of Technology in 1953. His professional life encompassed work
in the corrugated box and packaging industry. Later he owned
a small business consulting firm in Indiana. He served in the
military during the Korean War.
Howard will be remembered as an avid sports fan, especially of
his beloved "Ramblin' Wrecks." He especially enjoyed
his regular golf rounds, playing duplicate bridge and his Rotary
activities and friends. He actively participated in his church,
where he sang in the chancel choir and smoked turkeys for the
annual Thanksgiving dinner over a number of years. He was a collector
of old tools, and presented programs around the area sharing
his collection and knowledge.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janice; sons and daughters-in-law,
Pete and Linda Siggelko of Indianapolis, IN, Ed and Debbie Siggelko

Mr. Whitehead was born Jan. 12, 1976, in South Bend, IN, the
son of Hubert Lawrence and Han Blaylock Whitehead.
He had been employed as a phlebotomist at Cumberland Medical
Center, and was licensed as an emergency medical technician.
At the time of his death, he was manager of Rent-A-Center in
Niles and was employed part-time at the Edwardsburg Ambulance
Service. He was a certified firefighter, and was formerly employed
part-time with the City of Niles Fire Department. He was a certified
scuba diver, and served in the Michigan National Guard.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his son, Triston
Whitehead of Niless, companion of 15 years, Michelle Maynard
of Niles; grandmother, Julia Cameron of Monterey; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Hubert "Hubie" and Patty Whitehead

Mr. Sevier was born April 26, 1936, in Overton County, TN, the
son of G.G. and Pearl Carmack Sevier.
He was a salesman for D&J Appliance Co., and a member of
Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Bro. Allen Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Ithaca Cemetery
in Ithaca, OH.
Mr. Watkins was born April 14, 1914, in Brethitt County, KY,
the son of Allen and Margaret Watkins.
He retired from Chrysler Airtemp in Dayton, OH, and he was a
World War II veteran.
Survivors include his daughter, Adaline Kochanowski of Cincinnati,
OH; son and daughter-in-law, Allen D. and Maxine Watkins of Crossville;
stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, John and Mary Jo Lorimer of
Cuyahoga Falls, OH, David and Margie Gross, and Roland and Sharon
Gross, all of Fairborn, OH; stepdaughters and stepson-in-law,

Shirley Looney, 59, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 14, 2001.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 17 at First United Methodist
Church, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Dr. James
H. Beasley Jr. and the Rev. Carlton Thackston officiated.
Mrs. Looney was born May 30, 1942, in Cumberland County, KY,
the daughter of Homer and Dellie Mae Kerr Watson.
She was the owner of Shirley's Jewelry in the Woodmere Mall in
Crossville.
She graduated in 1960 from Cumberland County (KY) High School
in Burkesville. After attending Watkins Institute and night school
at the University of Tennessee, she became the administrative
assistant to the regional manager of Massey-Ferguson in Nashville.
For 30 years, Mrs. Looney was active in many local charity and
civic organizations in Crossville. She was recognized by the
American Business Women's Association, of which she was a charter
member, as Woman of the Year in 1984. She served as a member
of First United Methodist Church in various capacities, including
vice chair of the trustees and as a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Jack Looney; son,
Guy Looney of Old Hickory, TN; mother, Dellie Mae Watson; sister
and brother-in-law, Christine and Sam Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law,
Clayton and Betty Watson, and Otis and Mary Jo Watson, all of
Burkesville, KY; sister-in-law and her husband, Anne L. Cook
and John Diggs of Martin, TN; brother-in-law and his wife, Tom
and Ann Looney of Crossville; 18 nephews; six nieces; and many
friends in Cumberland County, TN and Cumberland County, KY.
She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Watson; and her
father- and mother-in-law, C. Evans and Ruth Looney.
Pallbearers were Tom Looney, Scott Looney, Ruth Ann Looney, Chris
Cook, Wade Cook, Bradley Albert Watson, Nicholas Herald Watson,

He was retired from the U.S. Army, and was a real estate developer.
He was a member of the VFW and the Military Order of World Wars,
and was past president of the Exchange Club. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, and was of the Protestant faith.

Mrs. Maddle was born April 14, 1924, in Rose Hill, VA, the daughter
of Judge S. and Mary Harbor Doyle.
She was a homemaker, and a 25-year employee with Ely-Walker in
Monterey. She and her husband, Henry Maddle, were owners of a
cleaning service business. She was a member of the Monterey Wesleyan
Church.
